Stevenson should have been on at halftime for Campbell meaning 3 at the back with Doig going to left wing back.

I think so too. Was an obvious change

Neither CB is out of position. We were playing a back 4 at that time and the CB split our wide when we have possession. We then stupidly gave the ball away. Our DMs are supposed to provide central cover when the CBs split. No one covered the run of the Celtic player. Once we changed to a back 3 we didn’t have those gaps. If Shaun wants to play a back 4 again he really needs to figure out who is going to be the DM.

Hanlon was miles out of position when Campbell lost the ball.

It's literally exactly where he's supposed to be standing when we are playing out from the back.

Agreed. For me, Doig has played his best 2 games in a while playing in that position against Aberdeen and Dundee Utd

However I do think we were already playing a back 3 anyway

I understand he is meant to be wide but that deep is asking for trouble against a side like Celtic. Apologies if that's the case, I must've missed Maloney saying that's the exact spot his CBs must take up.

:agree:

Nothing wrong with where either of them were.

The Celtic press was absolutely relentless. Thats always going to be the case.

I missed that Nisbet chance...ffs it was easier to score.

He needs either a rocket up the arse or a bit of time out the team.

I think Stevenson should have started in place of Campbell.

I think Stevenson should have started in place of Campbell.

So do i but not to change it at half time just compounded the error. Early days though and i think we will like what we see once the right players are bedded into the team.

He made several changes both in shape and personnel.

He used subs yes, but really, they all made no difference ... although Stevenson had a decent run I thought and Murphy made a good pass, otherwise I didn't see any changes that helped us as a team.

Flash. Following on from last nights exchange - It is these sort of decisions that I would love to hear Maloney talk about…we won’t of course…but there were a few of these, that were noticeable , and I felt he got a couple of important calls wrong last night . IMO of course…

Early days as you say….

The level of negativity here is really staggering, I know it's usually negative, but this is a loss to Celtic with a depleted team due to injuries and suspensions.

Celtic played well, they have better players than we do in almost every position. We missed an absolute sitter of a chance that would have changed the game.

The players getting criticised for our first goal, seem to be Hanlon and Rocky, and neither did anything wrong or can't do anything when someone else loses the ball so easily under pressure. They pressed us and it worked, it was relentless. We also conceded a very harsh penalty, we could argue for days if it was one, but it wasn't like Doig sold the jerseys by grabbing the ball in the box, the ball was kicked up into his chest then hit his arm, nothing he can do about it.

If the manager doesn't want to throw the new guys or Doidge into an almost lost cause and instead wants to see if other players get a chance to change the game then that's up to him, it wasn't right or wrong, it was just what he chose to do.

The only thing for me is how can we persist with Nisbet up front constantly when he doesn't score and can't hold up a ball?

I agree with a lot of that. I think that Hanlon and Bushiri were both good, Nisbet is an absolute liability (his 'attempt' just before half time somehow worse than missing a near open goal from about six yards out) but we had well over half a team missing, recovering or carrying knocks. Celtic nowadays come out of the blocks absolutely flying and tend to tail off a bit later on and when they get it right are near impossible to live with.

It wasn't a good performance, but it wasn't horrendous.

I’ve backed Nisbet for a long time but that miss last night was embarrassing

If that lad thinks he’s going to be in Scotland squad for World Cup
Qualifiers then he really needs to up his game and at least show some effort

He’s needs dropped in my view. Shocking shocking miss.

Rocky was at the opposite side of the box. Mirroring Hanlon. The correct position for how we where set up. Rocky shouldn’t be taking the blame for that goal.

Not so sure about that Celtic won the ball played into Rogic took couple of touches personally think he had time to get back and pick up the scorer.
