She can say what she likes. I just thought the household advice made little sense and is likely to have next to no impact on the 'tsunami'. As others have pointed out you just need to take a look at the packed buses heading into town today (let alone the numbers heading to Ibrox and Hampden this weekend) to see that telling us how many folk to have in your house is a futile gesture - a gesture aimed primarily IMHO at teeing up another pop at Westminster.
I get that Sturgeon hopes to build a legacy of having 'led us through the pandemic' but delivering advice in an earnest manner (largely for the sake of being seen to be doing something) doesn't mean she walks on water when that advice doesnt stand up to any serious scrutiny.
She most certainly doesn’t walk on water. I’ve argued from the other side against her with others (believe it or not). I just don’t think chucking her in amongst complaints against Welsh restrictions qualified as “serious scrutiny”
Nicola sturgeon most definitely isn’t perfect. It’s easy for her to look good with the buffoon below the border in charge. It doesn’t mean she deserves constant and unfounded attacks because some can’t take to her though.

Folk queuing for entry to White Christmas up town disappointed as show cancelled last minute. Not sure why but extremely short notice. Possibly show participants having to isolate is my guess.

Haha Joe Rogan, the man's a loony of the highest order.
You do realise airborne particles land on surfaces and if someone with the virus puts fingers in their mouth then touch anything that is then infected. Peanuts in a bar are covered in piss because of unwashed hands.
But mentioning Rogan jeezo, I think I'll be ignoring anything you post from now on.

Yes, but there's always a lag with new waves. Look what's happening in London, where hospitalisations are up almost 30%. The worry is that's what's coming our way soon.
Still lots of uncertainty around omicron. If it's generally mild and pushes nastier variants aside, then it might not be such a bad thing, but if even a small fraction are admitted to hospital then there's a damaging strain on the NHS and so many other people who are required to keep the country functioning end up isolating.
The fear of missing out on Christmas is a huge driver in this instance. If it was at another time of year, the public reaction may well have been a bit different.

I wasn't disagreeing about it being mostly airbourne just that it still lands on surfaces and can be caught by touching said surfaces but as PB and yourself say it's mostly airbourne.

I think the question has long since been answered, of course its not going to be behind closed doors. Not sure why this thread is still on the main board when it clearly belongs elsewhere.

Regardless of covid there is 101 diseases and bugs that can get spread by the hands, if this all gets people to stop being clarty and washing their hands well one bonus to this. The amount of guys that use toilets in pubs then head straight out the door is disgusting

Wound be great if this fog lingered, particularly over Hampden, and led to a postponement before most of us set off tomorrow.

Nope, thoroughly looking forward to it now that it’s just about here.
Strange build up, but got a cup to win now.

Agree. It was just under 1000 a few months ago and stayed between 700 and 900 for ages. I expect they may go up again but for the time being the numbers are going down

It’s forecast fog in the morning so maybe interesting driving through but will be gone early afternoon.
Can’t wait for the game and definitely don’t want it postponed now as Hibs won’t have a better chance of beating a Celtic team missing a few key players.

A few of these players trained today but remains to be seen if they are fit to play any part

Only 66% of London have some form of vaccination. That’s 33% totally unvaccinated which equates to around 3 million folk, all living in a fairly tight geography…compared to Scotland.

Yip. The London mob don't think that rules or regulations apply to them.
We shouldn't compare Scotland to London, or most of England for that matter. Until a week or so ago, very few of them wore masks anywhere, including transport, offices and other workplaces.

111 out of 169 'Covid hospitalisations' in London today were from patients admitted to hospital with other conditions only to then get a positive test whilst in hospital.

That’ll be those underlying conditions we’ve heard so much about for the last two years. Technically it’s not the covid that hospitalises you…………….or is it? :hmmm: If folks haven’t been vaccinated then do so. If you have then get boosted. It’s that simple to help keep you out of hospital even with the underlying stuff.

Go on to-you tube and look up Professor Tim Spector Evidence based info without all the Tsunami Pish
Research to date suggesting that most people are presenting with severe cold like symptoms and are better in five days or so
But that’s just one of the headlines worth listening to him though as things changing on a daily basis But very informative without the hype
