Has to be said, what a terrible bit of business from the Grasshopper Zurich point of view

They loan out a very out of favour player (not sure why he was no where near their first team) with an extremely cheap option, first refusal, to buy tag in

One of 2 things would happen

1. The player is poor and hardly get any game time at loan club, said loan club say no thanks to buying him and he heads back to Switzerland

2. The player plays a blinder, scores a ton of goals and rediscovers his love for the game in a new country and team.

Option 2 happens, you have to turn down much bigger offers for a player you didn't want

That penalty against Rangers...wow. Every time I watch it back...some hit it was. He is a classy player who has realised that if he puts the time and effort in at Hibs then he'll be rewarded hugely later in his career. If he keeps developing, no exaggeration, EPL could be his eventual destination. He is strong, fast, decent touch and decent feet. He needs to increase consistency and be a bit more tactically aware on the pitch but he has all the ingredients to go far in the game.

I'll contain my exuberance for now, if we get some of the signings touted on here and a few more then I'll lose it, not been this positive about an approaching season in a long while. It will be a tough season but it just feels like we are putting the icing/finishing touches on a strong squad. Nice place to be in.

That's not an entirely insignificant sum, but last season it would have taken Jack Rodwell about 10 hours to earn £4k from them.

That will probably be the worst financial return for a couple of seasons ever, surely? £73k per week last year for 2 Championship appearances and the settlement for the next year of his contract for 0 appearances.
