I take it the DVD will be just as long/the same as the cinema verison? Might be a silly question but the cinema one is meant to be "advanced" so had me wondering.

It's only an advanced showing because it's being shown before the DVD release.

Can't wait. I better get my copy on Friday or I'll be going mental at the Club shop on Saturday morning!

Going to pick my copy from the club store on Friday when I'm up for my Ayr away tickets. Back home for a full rerun I even saved my popcorn from last night for it. GGTTH

Agreed. It was absolutely brilliant. Some amazing insights into the build up and some really funny stuff from the players.

It was great to see them speaking naturally, credit to the interviewer. We're all used to media-trained responses and cliches, this was really them.

Last night was to gather at 6.30pm and be seated by 7pm. Leeann done a short thank you list then it was straight into the DVD. Well worth watching. The only thing that slightly delayed the times was people getting photo's with the cup but it was well managed and ran very smoothly. Stubbs was there last night along with Liam H and most of the current first team. Tom Farmer and his wife were there put Rod was not there.

surely they will have works both ways us that have pre ordered as worrying we won't any time soon and those who haven't worry there won't be enough in the shop. I'd fully expect them to sell over 3 or 4 thousand copies.

Best film I've ever watched in the cinema!

Every Hibs fan should be made to watch it as makes you so proud of the club and it's a real emotional rollercoaster. ER would be full every week if they watched it!

Great stories and some funny moments.

Cinema was full - was weird seeing Hibs fans in green at cinema with scarves etc but everyone was in good spirits and a few cheers during goals etc.

A must watch and I can't imagine many football DVD's being made like that  Fitting for the 114 year wait ! If you haven't seen it you are in for a treat!

Much as others have said - an absolute rollercoaster of emotions watching the film. Loved every second of it

Great close ups of the crowd during the final - pretty sure everyone will see someone they know at some point

One of the biggest insights was the bond between the players and coaching staff. The interviews with players as the story unfolds was great. Have to say Kevin Thomson came across really well showing his love for the club.

A completely and utterly must purchase for any Hibs fan! 😀

Excellent excellent job from Hibs - have all the previous videos and DVDs and this is by far the most professional and emotive film produced by the club. Lovely touches throughout from filming Sam RIP, to Macgregor's emotional greeting love of the club, to Rod and Farmer greetin, to mad close up scenes of the fans at the final whistle. My only gripe was they could've silenced the Proclaimers singing and just somehow have the whole Hibee choir singing it just like at the very end. At joy to watch and I cannae wait to see it again.

Echo everything that's been said so far - the DVD hits all the right notes. Cummings star of the show no doubt but all the interviews were excellent and showed how much the win meant to the players, crucially even those not playing/starting. As others have said, that surreal moment involving a much-maligned figure really reiterates just how important and unique this experience has been for our club. Couldn't have asked for more really and seeing it on the big screen surrounded by hibees was a joy from start to finish.

It does seem a big subject to completely ignore, but with the tone of the film, the finished product is none the worse for the black-out, and I don't think would have added anything to it.

Doesn't surprise me. I spoke to him for 10 mins the morning after the final and he was a gentleman. Spoke quite honestly about Rangers/Keith Jackson, and was just delighted he'd played a part in winning the cup, and said he was able to enjoy the final as a fan, even although he would have loved to have been out there.

I agree. Everybody has already seen the fans who went on the pitch. I'm really looking forward to listening to the players and boards take on it and reactions and watching the build up games to the final again etcetera.

Especially watching again the game at the Piggery the 2 goal lead the yams surrendered as they 'were content with a money spinning replay'

Having went last night and slept on it - what stands out is how inspiring it was.

Very interesting insight to those that were involved and not involved in starting team.

Loved some the goals from previous rounds and some new angles of the action.

Hibs should definitely do another cinema date in future for fans - quite an experience seeing it in full surround sound on the big screen and the quality of film looked good.

I genuinely did not see any fighting on the pitch as I ended up down the front of the main stand at the final whistle and it was later when I met up with my brother who had been in a different section of Hampden who told me of what he had seen I became aware of what had taken place on the huns half pitch side.

I still think the sfa were wrongful to prevent a pitch celebration by the players once it had been cleared of fans and feel it was a spiteful act by them or Police Scotland.

I really can't wait now for the dvd after hearing how good it was by some of the lads at the ocean terminal screenings.

That's a bit disappointing to hear. Despite all the ridiculous outrage, that was a memorable part of the whole thing IMO.

The pitch invasion was just a small % of that amazing day and there are enough videos on YouTube to show it all etc plus maybe the disc 2 might keep it.

Disc 1 wasn't about that - hard to explain but as much as I loved the fans celebrating on the pitch (I wasn't on the pitch) you don't feel like it's not needed in the documentary.

I also didnt have a clue. We were in the 3rd row of the east stand by the corner flag and was too busy celebrating with friends and family. First I knew was my mate texting me saying it was not good viewing, and I replied "why, whats happening"

Other side, F3, but same vantage point I'd have thought. So much going on around me that the other end of the pitch might as well have been invisible.

Most of the clips have the Sky commentary, however some of them are also shown with the Hibs commentary.

Gray's goal, obviously, is show with both, as well as from various angles.

I'd imagine that disc 2 will have the full game so not sure what commentary they will use for that.

30k might be a bit ambitious. I was hoping they'd maybe order around 10k in. That should avoid them selling out for a few weeks, and can judge the next order. I won't be going anywhere near the shop on saturday tho. It could be bedlam!

maybe a little - i'm hoping for more than 10k though on the basis that say we have 15k in the home stands on saturday and we sold 7.5k before and after the game thats only 2.5k left for friday all day. the amount of people that get paid on friday will mean a high volume of purchases and people through the door throughout the day. TBH i'm a bit shocked the club store opening hours hasnt been extended on friday.

i'd much rather we took a short term hit for a change and see the bigger picture here. we sell however many we sell this weekend whether that's 10/15/20k. if we do get 30k in is it really gonna be that long before we sell the remainder? It's imperative we get the right amount in after the shambles that was the home kit for this season. i dont fancy going near on saturday either hence why i was hoping to pop down Friday

DVDs that were pre ordered are being sent on a first come first serve basis, I ordered mine on Monday and was told I receive mine probably Monday. This suits me as I'm busy all weekend anyway.

Definitely super ambitious, even if theres 15k regular attendees, how many are groups who live in the same household? Not sure each house needs multiple copies at £25 a pop. If we shift 10k, that would be a tremendous effort.

Although it's great to hear about the rave reviews about the DVD, to charge £25 for it is shameful. Not every person out there is loaded and that is a big amount to ask for two round bits of plastic. I expected it to be £15 tops so it's 10 quid over what I am willing to pay. Just hope all the poor in Edinburgh can gather round a dvd player to share the experience. :-(

Keep in mind Hibs need to make a profit on these sort of things. We've had to pay to produce it, probably had to pay for the rights to use the footage etc. Trust me this DVD is worth £100, never mind £25.

It's not for "two round bits of plastic" though, is it? It's all the hours and hours of work, the effort to produce it, the travel to get all the players involved, the logistics of production and the chance to own the part of the best day of our clubs on field history.

114 years of disappointment, one moment of unparalleled euphoria and a lot of hard work since have gone into this.

I bet a lot of those attending last nights showing at the cinema had read some of the reaction to the previous nights viewing and maybe thought that those posters were going a bit OTT and over egging things. As one who was fortunate to be at Monday nights showing, and made gushing posts about it, I'm kind of relieved that the feedback last night and this morning were equally as gushing, and now it's those waiting to view on DVD who might be thinking "Is it really that good?"

If I have this wrong then I apologise in advance, but I think this might be the 2nd comment you've made on this or another thread about being prepared to walk into the shop and cause a bit of aggro if your DVD isnt on your doormat come Friday. Do you think the guys in the shop deserve it? Do you reckon they've created the circumstances where this might happen? Theyre there to facilitate us supporters buying merchandise that either more senior people within ER, or the jokers from the Nike link-up, have made ie initial order numbers, number of hands on deck to get orders out. Its meant to be an extension of the celebrations from May. Id suggest going to pick up your DVD, watch it, smile, greet. Then contact the club about the disappointing setup and ask to be squared up. If you want to Send me a flash drive (min 8GB as the file is almost 5GB) with a stamped addressed return envelope I'll happily copy it for you.

It's definitely not arriving Thursday considering they're not receiving them till midday tomorrow.

When it comes to pre order I used it to guarantee myself a copy without potential massive queues or missing out. The staff in the shop are expecting the odd over reaction if someone doesn't get their dvd on Friday but as someone just said it not their fault they're working as hard as they can.

Hopefully people can get over minor details and just enjoy what is going to be a very special product for us all.

I do understand fans getting s but annoyed if they PRE order and they don't get it before general sale.

They really should have had pre-order arrive Thursday and general sale Friday.

Anyway..hopefully Hibs have learnt from the t-shirt carry on.

The DVD is worth the wait and I'm sure everyone will get round to watching it sooner rather than later.

I would encourage you to watch it / share it with as many people as people as it's a work of art and makes you so proud of Hibs.

Every time I pre order anything it always arrives on release day or a day before. That is literally the whole point of pre-ordering in the first place these days. I realise it may not be the clubshops fault if it doesn't but considering I pre-ordered more or less 10 minutes after the initial announcement I'm fully expecting mine to arrive on Friday morning.

If I have this wrong then I apologise in advance, but I think this might be the 2nd comment you've made on this or another thread about being prepared to walk into the shop and cause a bit of aggro if your DVD isnt on your doormat come Friday. As others have said, the whole point of "pre-order" is to guarantee receiving a copy from the first batch delivered to the shop. Haven't a problem with that. I am lucky enough to be able to pop along to the shop at any time but others can't.

However, when, during the "pre-order" process, you were forced to choose post as the only delivery option (no Pick up at Shop option was given), then expectancy has to be it will be delivered by, or on, the release date. Not too much to ask in this day and age of 'next day delivery' and in some cases, 'same day delivery' from the likes of Amazon or Argos.

If delivery date can't be guaranteed for Friday, maybe Hibs should have considered sub contracting the deliveries out to the likes of Amazon on a one off exceptional basis. After all, those that have pre-ordered have "paid" up front for the so called privilege, thinking they would get their DVDs first.

I really hope all these fears are unfounded though.

People were only given the option of delivery when pre ordering. Hibs have managed with tickets before to have a separate queue for collection of per ordered tickets and another for separate sales so IF they won't arrive in time for the release I think that would be a better option.
Hopefully the club have learned from the t-shirt mess up though and it won't be an issue.

For what its worth, even Apple (the biggest company in the world) will not guarantee that pre-orders will be delivered on the day of release. Pre-ordering provides the convenience of not having to go to a shop and standing in a queue.

People who go to down to the shop are not guaranteed their will be availability, those that pre-ordered are guaranteed to receive theirs from the first-batch.

They should make it available via Amazon, it's surprisingly cheap to do.

5000 copies will mean a lot of disappointed fans if that is the size of the initial run. Out of stock at launch is amateur stuff, they should be doing about 30k.

Those that don't sell between now and Xmas would shift over the next few months.

I don't think it is. If we're honest it will tend to be only the die hard a amongst that 150k that will want a copy. Even from the 22k at hampden, some won't bother with a copy as will be happy with their recording on sky or think that £25 is too much, while there may have been 4 or 5 people at the game all in the same household so 1 copy will suffice.

Sorry mate. You're wrong. Pre-orders WERE forced to pay postage and that in my eyes gives those that have done this some sort of right/preference as to when they receive it.

If the option to pick up a reserved copy at the shop on Friday was there, this whole conversation wouldn't be happening. I for one would have been OK with that and happy enough to pick it up after the game on Saturday in the knowledge I definitely would get my DVD and not run the risk of being told - "sorry there's none left, all sold" as has been the case with some of the other Cup Final merchandise available.

I don't think the numbers at the parade are reflective of how many DVDs we'll sell or even our fan base as a whole.

I was at the parade with my girlfriend, parents, my Grandad and 10 family friends. Of that only myself and my parents are regulars at ER, my Grandad used to be but health doesn't allow him to attend now, 3 weren't even Hibs fans just Leithers who wanted to be part of the day and the remainder are casual attenders. A decent number of that 150K was made up of extended families, kids with parents etc. They aren't all going to buy a DVD each. I'd say even an estimate of 1 in every 5 who was present buying one is totally unrealistic.

SuperAllyMcleod

Perhaps we should start the complaints after we know whether or not folks get their DVD tomorrow or not?

I'd imagine that Hibs are on this and already have the envelopes prepared and all they have to do is put the DVD in and seal it up. I can't see that taking more than a couple of hours for 2000 envelopes between 5 people.

They do, of course, have to cover themselves by saying that it could be a day or so later as they have no idea what the post office will do with them!

At some point over the next year, these are gonna sell. its better the club has x amount of happy fans over the weekend as opposed to fans turning up at the club shop then going in to the stadium in a bad mood because they couldnt get the DVD. It cause an atmosphere the players dont need. Not to mention anyone that does in fact kick off at the staff in the club shop.

I don't think there's a business going that would stock up a product to cover themselves for the next year. 5000 is more than enough for the initial demand, and then they can judge how many they need to get in to cover the christmas period, if any at all. I'd be surprised if we sold 20k copies in the next 12 months, so would be silly for the shop to stockpile and end up with thousands of copies that they end up having to sell off cheap.

someone enters a stadium disgruntled. We dont score within a few mins and said person starts to get ratty. There's people expecting folk to kick off in the club shop so do you anticipate these people just rock in to the stadium, forget all about it and start singing songs and back the team? Just been in the shop to get my daughter a top for her birthday, the staff openly spoke about the DVD:

DVDs that were pre ordered are being sent on a first come first serve basis, I ordered mine on Monday and was told I receive mine probably Monday. This suits me as I'm busy all weekend anyway.

They have put in an initial order of 5000 DVDs.

Again just passing on what I was told about an hour ago.

edit - thinking about it, if it's 5000 I'll be gobsmacked if they're not sold out by close of business tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

My bet is that this place goes into meltdown on Saturday with folk complaining of long queues followed by zero stock.

The fees they charge are ridiculous and Hibs would lose out doing it this way. We faced charges of 20-30% on items without the handling and postage charges. There are fees for everything Amazon do, if you sneeze on the wrong day whilst on seller central Amazon would charge you. Not a good option for Hibs, great option for Amazon.

I've heard Hibs fans boo or abuse players if we're not winning after 20 mins or so. Expect that to only be worse if fans are p'd off at the club already

This is getting silly...

It's a DVD..

fair enough, that's your opinion but i've got absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will sell 20k over the next 12 months. Me personally, i'll be purchasing 5 over the next 2 months as xmas/bday gifts which i'm sure there are at least 1k in the same boat. so there goes your 5k right away.

Guaranteed if we did only get 5k in and you didnt pre order you, plus the others that are saying we wont sell more than 5k in the first weekend be on here moaning at the club getting another thing wrong when it comes to selling.

whether we get 5k or 20k in, as long as i get mines over the weekend i couldnt particularly care

Cash flow is a major issue here.

Why pay for 20k now, when we can pay for 5k, and judge whether we need to buy 5k, 10k, more, and when we need to pay for them?

I'll be disappointed if the DVD does not arrive tomorrow but I'm not going to complain to the club and it's not going to stop me supporting the team on Saturday. That being said if Hibs had stated those who ordered it would receive it within 14 days of its release I would not have ordered it. Hibs encouraged fans to pre order to make it easier on the staff and allow them to know how many DVDs to order in its first run. I think 5000 seems about right and them get more in before Xmas.

Those telling others to calm down, behave or shut up need to remember this is a fans forum and it's fans discussing an issue. If everyone stayed quiet then there'd be no point of .net

I've said exactly the same mate. Ok lets tone it down a bit and say 20k. In reality, what is the problem if we order 20k in? At some point over the next year, these are gonna sell. its better the club has x amount of happy fans over the weekend as opposed to fans turning up at the club shop then going in to the stadium in a bad mood because they couldnt get the DVD. It cause an atmosphere the players dont need. Not to mention anyone that does in fact kick off at the staff in the club shop.

Stop with the short term-ism and order more thn we need right now for a change

If something like this is going to cause an atmosphere at the game that says a lot more about those effected than it does the club. ITS A DVD.

Speaking of misunderstanding, I think many have misunderstood the term pre-order to mean pre-release.

Pre-order

Pre-release

Cheers - I wish I had asked for this earlier and I wouldn't have the expectation of receiving my £30 DVD on the day it's released.

Bloody amazon and that creating unachievable expectations for everyone.

The players are going to be affected by some disgruntled fans who have not managed to pick up a DVD in club shop before the game? Get a grip mate.

I paid for the postage for pre order and there is no way on earth it is gonna be in Argyll tomorrow or probs even Saturday. I would have been quicker and cheaper picking one up at ER on Saturday. Do i care, nope. Would rather not face the mad scramble and happy to wait. :aok:

Just ordered one this morning for my (ahem) laddies Xmas pile, so not fussed when I get it so long as its before 24 December. Be a nightmare no to have a sneaky viewing likes but better than any Bond film on Xmas day lying on the sofa stuffed with turkey etc.

Pre Ordered as away for the weekend and cant get to the Club Shop . I have no expectation it will arrive tomorrow As long as it gets Delivered next week i will be happy with that
Thankfully my Daughter has a big screen on wall of her flat and she will supply popcorn and beer Looking forward to a great family night in with the Kleenex Tissues on hand

No matter how good the DVD is, there are some things you shouldn't do in front of your family.
