200k and 2m are quite a large way apart on initial valuations. I'd find it hard to see us getting close to spending 7 figures on him personally.

Triantis and to a lesser extent McCowan last summer at least were very known quantities to us. We seen them in this league against our opposition weekly and knew they could cut it. Nectar even more so can fit in with the squad because he's done it already.

Shifting that resource on into another player isn't as simple in my mind.

They have a huge squad now and if it doesn’t click they end up in in the same situation we did in that half the squad were gash but can’t be replaced because they are under contract for a few more years.

Agreed entirely. This idea that Jamestown is the first in history to use stats and analytics to look at anything in football is made up PR nonsense. Hibs will have had stats and analytics to look at when we were signing some dross, maybe not as extensive but either way it's not a magic cure all FIFA stat "he's rated 85 and he's 82 so i'll sign the 85".

You still need real people to make decisions based on things that numbers can't really tell you. You could sign someone with better numbers but it turns out they're actually a bit of a twat and ruin the dressing room, can't settle in cold weather, gets riled up too easily from opposition fans.

Agree. They also seem to think moving away from a Scottish/British presence will not have an impact. Multiple languages, cultures, methods of training and nutrition etc will mean at best it will be a huge challenge to knit so many players together. They could go into next season with a squad of 35 and up to 12 new players. Many of the existing squad are on long high wage contracts form last season. Selling prentice at first sniff of an offer doesn’t help them!
