As was raised in the Parliament the other day the pro Indy accounts of the Iranian regime on Twitter suddenly stopped the day Israel bombed them. But those comments where quite well crafted and obviously a bit of professionalism to it, I don't think Shug from Glasgow saying he doesn't like the SNP in the Daily Record comments section is in the same league.
Is Shug the only poster who doesn't like the SNP?

Just because the Iranian bot farms were a well oiled machine mean that smaller groups can't post on other issues in a similar biased fashion?

Is attempting to boil the practice down to a fictional caricature poster reflect what could be happening or the types of post on the rags message boards.

    Anyway.

I found last week you failed to dissect an article in The Times properly and couldn't seperate a headline from the article or articulate the difference from the terms used in each.

I'm rapidly finding I can't trust your critical faculties, and now, your outlook on how social media works, so I don't even know why I'm replying to this. If I wasn't so polite I'd be asking you to go away and boil your head.

Lol, I just don't buy into all the conspiracy theories abound on the SNP and Independence. But don't worry I will keep looking for your insights into the bad actors all out to get the SNP and Independence and how Shug is probably Mi5 or Mi6 or maybe CIA. Who knows.

What I'm saying is nothing to do with the SNP or Independence and everything to do with how social media works and how easily they are manipulated.

Given the state of the country I'd be surprised if there wasn't a concerted online campaign against the SNP.

That's just the stage we are at across the political spectrum.

    It's silly to believe otherwise.

Happens across all the major social media platforms.

Bots, bad actors, political groups, pressure groups coalescing posts to boost certain opinions or takes on news. Been happening for well over a decade.

If you think it's unlikely Jamie, that's quite naive.

There has been clear evidence of political interference in many of the most recent elections including Brexit US presidential election other elections including Romania, Slovenia and Australia. Maybe it doesn’t really matter to some if it supports your own position.

Trump: "We're doing coal. I don't want windmills destroying our place. I don't want these solar things where they go for miles and they cover up half a mountain and they're ugly as hell."

But yeah, he's "entertaining", he "says it like it is" and he's "anti-woke", so lets all praise Trump. The moron's moron.

Just far, far too late in the day though, isn’t it?

The idea that someone so blatantly unfit for office first time round, could somehow run again after J6 is just so staggeringly beyond belief.

Fact checking him now (I know it’s did happen to some extent before), does nothing. By and large these networks treated him like a regular presidential candidate - not just on the back of what had happened in his first term, but even as he was spouting a blatantly authoritarian agenda, and ranting like a deranged old man in every rally.

The two candidates for the last US election had served four years each from the previous eight. However, US outlets (even ones that were part of the so- called liberal media) decided to focus on the age and mental acuity of only one - and the fact that it was Biden, who had led a competent administration at the very least - is pretty staggering. Especially when there is what, three years between the candidates?

Of course there were some legitimate questions to be asked surrounding Joe Biden’s mental agility - and his decision to run again was an absolutely dreadful one. But whilst his stuttering (at best) performance in the first debate last year was pretty much disqualifying, Trump’s “they’re eating the dogs” was just seen as par for the course. Not to mention the million other lies along those lines.

Trump has been held to a much lower standard than anyone his position ever has been before. And the results are clear for all to see.

It’s an utterly ridiculous reality that we are living in - and by the time Trump is done, there won’t be a single network or media outlet left that will dare fact check him.

Trump gets fact checked all the time. It makes zero difference.

Absolutely correct. The difference in this case is they actually cut him off before he could spout more. I can even remember Neil Cavuto on Fox doing the same when he was spouting lies about the election being stolen back in 2020.

My point is, if his platform had been curtailed by such actions more regularly, things may have been different. Quite possibly not, but taking such action now is totally redundant.

Maybe he could just mask the smell of it with some Donald Trump perfume? Or how about launching a special range of Trump bleach? Also suitable for drinking.

This will be yet another win for him, and a major step toward shutting down media criticism of him.

A completely baseless and ridiculous lawsuit that he would definitely lose, leveraged by his FCC chairman threatening to withhold licenses and prevent a merger.

The lack of resistance is unbelievably depressing:
