Copenhagen lost tonight in the Conference so no points for the Danish coefficient
Legia Warsawa lost tonight in the Conference so no points for Poland but Jagiellonia Bialystok kick off in 5 minutes
Rapid Wien of Austria and Lugano of Switzerland also kick off at 8pm in the Conference

A good night for the Scottish coefficient so far and it could get better
Molde’s 3-2 win not great by the looks of things

Against this Fenerbahce? They were honestly atrocious at the back. No way Huns don’t score again.

Think someone said if they get through it means they’ll play in Europe the Thursday before they play us. I’d be fine with them getting through this round and then spanked off Roma/Bilbao.

Who cares?….. … the coefficient is what it is ……… I, like what I hope most non old firm supporters do, enjoy the immediacy of games and want to see them both get cuffed every time. But just you go ahead and enjoy watching these ugly sisters win, getting richer and further away from the rest of us …….. if only to slightly enrich the less fortunate Scottish teams who occasionally get a taste of European football. Long live schadenfreude.
So what helps to reduce the gap is if we can earn a large amount of money by playing in Europe. Could well be worth £10 million. To do that we need the teams playing in Europe to do well. Nothing wrong with hoping that happens.

After watching Fenerbahce defensively tonight I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet there .

  8. #17887
Fenerbahce spent £67 million their squad this summer.... and the Special One is supposed to be a defensive master coach.

Rangers' talent for simultaneously being ***** domestically and fantastic abroad is truly bizarre.

Greece and Norway are ahead and gone from Scotland for the next 18 months
Scotland lose 8.5 coefficient points at the start of next season, Greece will lose 5.1 and Norway 6.5 so the gap back to Scotland will grow.

It's all about Austria, Denmark, Switzerland and Poland for Scotland and we will be playing catch up to them all next season, after the annual adjustment, as we seek to get back into the top 15 nations before the season ends.

The only UK team to get a win in Europa league, there you go.
It's a terrific result for them, no two ways about it. They still have to finish the job though.

  15. #17894
Either of these two clubs will take care of Sevco handy enough.

In Europe they don't need to take the game to the opposition.
In Scotland they constantly face a low block with no space in behind and it's them that get taken on the break.

Tonight they were facing a very rich club who were unbeaten at home for 18 games and they destroyed them.
As you say it is bizarre.

Yeah, one of those Desser offsides could come back to haunt them.

    I bow to your superior Coefficient knowledge(although I've got a spreadsheet...hang on....I should've figured that out myself though...Doh!!!!)

Do you follow Kassiesa??? He's so much faster than Uefa

I am aware of Kassiesa and occasionally use his site if their is information I can't find elsewhere but generally keep an eye on the Wiki page and plot and scheme from there.

For me it's important from a Hibs point of view, moving forward, for Scotland to continue to have 5 European places given we are the 5th wealthiest club in our country so are most likely to finish in that position in the league with the Scottish Cup going to the OF. Fortunately this season looks like one where we will finish 3rd especially if we can beat Killie next time out.

For me the coefficient pressure will ease on Scotland after next season if they can somehow finish in the top 15.

P.S. Poland are going to fly past Scotland and the other teams around us in a little over a years time given they will only lose 8.625 coefficient points from the next two seasons adjustments whilst Scotland will lose 16.4.

    Daje Roma!

I’ll be in Rome when the 1st leg of the next round comes along so Roma v Mourinho OR Roma v The Huns, can’t wait assuming we get through!

If the Huns get through, they will play on April 10, 5 days after our game unfortunately.

Hope Roma get through basically because I’ve always liked Ranieri as a manager as he comes across as decent guy , certainly has had a very interesting and good career in football.

The Romanisti love Ranieri, he’s ’one of our own’ as they say, having been born in Rome, played for them and now in his 3rd spell as coach.

Roma’s season has mirrored Hibs’ in so many ways. Terrible start to the season with the former just above the relegation places, internal strife resulting in the CEO leaving and then going on great runs to salvage their respective seasons.

It's utterly mental that he was in Edinburgh speaking to hearts in 2005 about becoming their manager.

Christ knows who else they would have to bumped out of cash to be able to pay his salary
