It may be more like the character in the book, but its diverted massively from the storyline of the early books just 30 minutes in in a multitude of ways, im really surprised Rankin is the executive producer on it. Hoping i like it better as it progresses. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Not too sure about the reimagined Rebus , feels like an episode of river city. I'll stick with it though as I'm a big fan of the books , one thing I'd say is that this version of Shiv is already better than Ken Stott's one , I'm guessing the professional standards guy is the Malcolm Fox character from the books.

Band of Brothers available for £9.99 on Prime. That will be getting purchased as the missus hasn’t seen the series before.
Up there with the West Wing as the best programme ever made in my eyes."Play for the name on the front of the jersey and the supporters will remember the name on the back"

I didn't much like the new Rebus. I'll give it another go though.
It's weird because it feels like the books should translate well to TV but they never really have. Stott was an improvement on Hannah but it still could and should have been so much better.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

I love Charlie Brooker but the last series of Black Mirror fell into the same trap with the episode set in Scotland. 'Hiya ya wee *****, where the **** have ye ****ing been ya ****ing ****er?' It's like there is a school of thought that if they 'add a swear' it suddenly makes it really gritty and authentic.

On the other hand, much to my astonishment, as I can’t stand the guy, I enjoyed the first two series of Clarkson’s Farm. An easy watch, snippets of interesting farming life and struggles against bureaucracy and red tape.Last edited by Jim44; 26-05-2024 at 04:04 PM.

I agree with clarksons farm though I absolutely love it, I don’t have much hate for clarkson to be honest I understand why a lot of people do, I haven’t really watched much of him though as other than the trips they took on top gear I had no interest in the show itself, but clarksons farm is superb viewing it really is

Well, just finished Ripley. Ive really enjoyed a lot of tv this year, but Im not sure TV gets much better than that. A total work of art.

Watched the first season of Altered Carbon and that was... fantastic yet very, very weird.

Well worth a watch.
