Aberdeen tonight. A win will make the league look a lot better. Aberdeen have started the season much better than expected, but if Hibs can replicate the performance from the weekend they should have enough for the win. Hopefully same starting 11.
That was one of the problems in the last couple seasons, we never really had a settled starting 11, or settled on a formation

Improved our GD considerably, wiped the advantage Hearts had there too.

Good to see Hearts will miss Lockwood with a suspension, that's what you get for trying to chop Cav

Great win. Was only able to watch the first half and I'd never have predicted 5-0. Aberdeen were very much in it. Baucom looks a really strong footballer though and must be hard to stop when she's on song.

I'm sure they said that was her first goals from open play, thought she worked hard against Hearts and put herself about. She seems to have had an interesting career so far and must be delighted to be playing where she is now.

I thought she was very good, not afraid to criticise when necessary. Sounded very knowledgeable, unlike Sportscene!

The derby was a big win and the Aberdeen player being sent off made for an easy win in midweek and makes for a much better looking league table.
Win at the weekend against Motherwell whilst Celtic beat Aberdeen and Hearts win or draw against Partick would take us up to 4th and best of the rest with 3 games left of the first round of matches. Think Partick and Hamilton at home and Rangers away, all in October, are those 3 fixtures. Hopefully 2 wins would keep us in 4th given Hearts also have Rangers to play.

P.S. Hearts have signed South Korean player Yeunn Park until the end of the season and have 5 players, who join 4 Hibs players, in the latest Scotland U23 squad. There are also 4 Glasgow City and interestingly only 2 Celtic and Zero Rangers players in the squad.

rangers don't have any u23s that would fit in that squad tbf. They do have loads in the 19s though. Odd that Adams isn't in the 23 squad.

6 Rangers players and 3 from Glasgow City in the full Scotland squad but zero from Celtic, Hibs or Hearts.

Between the 2 squads it tells a story of players coming through at all teams in Scotland but once established they go to the big 3 in Scotland or down south and then the very best move to the big European teams.

Like the mens team Hibs women need to find a way of making money from the best young talent when they move away with sell on clauses etc included in the contract. At the moment we are just filling the talented player conveyer belt but not benefitting significantly financially.

Is Kelly Clark not in the full squad? She's the Celtic CB - was in the last squad. I don't think Hibs or Hearts have anyone good enough for the first team squad right now tbh.

    Yep, and Amy Gallacher.

It's only 4 from Rangers in the squad too

Heff must be looking at an old squad.

I think the 23s has some odd choices.

Quite a few full internationals in there, not really sure what Harrison or Clark gain from being in it. Almost seems like a slap in the face. Would have been nice for Micky to get a nod, I know she's just back from injury but never seems to be any recognition.

*As an aside it's also mental Abinis still in a 23s squad given how long ago it seems like she left us.

    Losing it!
Actual current squad has 3 Rangers players in it and 2 each from Celtic and Glasgow City .

4 Rangers. Docherty, Fife, Maclean, and McLauchlan.

Tbf having 8 SWPL players in the SWNT is not bad going and I'd say a sign the league is improving.

If you look over the last few years it's rarely been that many. The 2018 WC squad for example had maybe 6 SWPL players.

Also a sign that less will make it to English top league . Maclean prob the only other one close to the level

Unless they do it via elsewhere, even the Championship, first. Like the Jamie-Lee Napier route. Perhaps we could see a player like Lauren Davidson do that

*Of course Napier did originally go to top league but opt to drop down!

That’s a shocker for Spartans. They are all over the place these days. It will never happen but they really need a change in leadership.
