Good to see Hearts will miss Lockwood with a suspension, that's what you get for trying to chop Cav

Great win. Was only able to watch the first half and I'd never have predicted 5-0. Aberdeen were very much in it. Baucom looks a really strong footballer though and must be hard to stop when she's on song.

Win at the weekend against Motherwell whilst Celtic beat Aberdeen and Hearts win or draw against Partick would take us up to 4th and best of the rest with 3 games left of the first round of matches. Think Partick and Hamilton at home and Rangers away, all in October, are those 3 fixtures. Hopefully 2 wins would keep us in 4th given Hearts also have Rangers to play.
P.S. Hearts have signed South Korean player Yeunn Park until the end of the season and have 5 players, who join 4 Hibs players, in the latest Scotland U23 squad. There are also 4 Glasgow City and interestingly only 2 Celtic and Zero Rangers players in the squad.Last edited by PHeffernan; 15-09-2023 at 12:34 PM.

Between the 2 squads it tells a story of players coming through at all teams in Scotland but once established they go to the big 3 in Scotland or down south and then the very best move to the big European teams.
Like the mens team Hibs women need to find a way of making money from the best young talent when they move away with sell on clauses etc included in the contract. At the moment we are just filling the talented player conveyer belt but not benefitting significantly financially.Last edited by PHeffernan; 15-09-2023 at 02:04 PM.

I think the 23s has some odd choices.
Quite a few full internationals in there, not really sure what Harrison or Clark gain from being in it. Almost seems like a slap in the face. Would have been nice for Micky to get a nod, I know she's just back from injury but never seems to be any recognition.
*As an aside it's also mental Abinis still in a 23s squad given how long ago it seems like she left us.

Losing it!
Actual current squad has 3 Rangers players in it and 2 each from Celtic and Glasgow City.

Tbf having 8 SWPL players in the SWNT is not bad going and I'd say a sign the league is improving.
If you look over the last few years it's rarely been that many. The 2018 WC squad for example had maybe 6 SWPL players.
