What about Chris Kane of St Johnstone. Not the most prolific but holds the ball up well.
You sound like Craig Levein when he signed Steven McLean, he doesn't do much and i like the fact he can't run.

I’ve seen plenty of him against us. He’s definitely got nuisance value but we need better than Chris Kane. He’s Joe Average. A decent workhorse type guy. He’s the Curtis Main of St Johnstone.
Agreed, he may work hard, but 23 goals in 176 games for ST J since 2012,, thats a terrible return.

A 2 year deal with double cup winners who are currently in a worse position than us.

I just think certain players are suited to certain clubs. Liam Craig looked a good signing for us but it never worked out. Rowan Vine another who’d had a decent season and then was chronic for us.

We need better than Chris Kane. I’m sure a decent player in his own right.

We had agreed a deal with him in the summer , only
To not go through with it …would now cost money as he signed a two year deal with Saints
Yup heard the same. He was keen to come, but we thought we had someone better lined up so stalled on the deal. He then signed an extension with St J and we missed out on both.

Kane I think is a good option to bring off the bench and close a game out. He works very hard, is good in the air and is quick and mobile. He gets you fouls and generally makes a nuisance of himself.

I don't think he could play upfront by himself as he doesn't score enough goals. As an option from the bench or player with a partner I think he'd be a decent signing.

Would have been a good deputy for Doidge and great foil for Nisbet.

Kane's one of these strikers who are great at the defensive side of the game but weak at the attacking side.

If you actually want to have possession, create chances and take them then he's pretty hopeless.

If you want to hack, chop, elbow, niggle, win free kicks and nick the odd goal from a set piece before all out defending then he's your man.

A 451 with him as the focal point would be eye bleedingly awful.

He's not without his uses, although he wouldn't be my choice of a striker to play for Hibs.

The more I hear about our approach to the last transfer window the more I realise why we are in the position we are in now.

Good summary, the first sentence says it all.

    Never ever good enough.

Goodness me, people can't seriously be after Chris Kane...

Surprised there even needs to be a discussion about that one if I'm honest!

Get your point, but if they were in our squad instead of Gullan and Scott, we’d be stronger than we are today.

And people wonder why Mathie & Ross have been binned.

If that was the heigh of their ambitions for this club then it's a good thing...

If Jack Ross was after Chris Kane I'm delighted he was sacked before getting another transfer window.

Think Kane would have been a reasonable addition to our front line. Different type of forward player and gave us so many problems last season.

I’m sorry our current strikers are or have both been slated for not scoring goals yet folk think Kane would be a good signing.

If jack Ross wanted Kane folk would be doing there dinger that there’s players all across the world out there and he wants players who have experience of the league.

We probably wouldn't. They would probably also only be bench replacements. Jamie G has only ever started 3 league games, none at ER and he's never been given 90 minutes. Scott also only has 3 league starts but he almost got 90 minutes for 2 of those.

We wouldn’t be stronger with the league’s top scorer? We’ve had no option to leave Nisbet out due to Gullan and Scott not being good enough. These players would have given us better options even if from the bench.

My point is, Messi wouldn't improve us if he only got an occasional few minutes from the bench. I think JR has had a bit of a raw deal but his treatment of Gullan and his use, or non use of substitutes was baffling.

Gullan isn’t close to being good enough.
