Yes does look similar to George. His profile on the site said he had gone to Gilmerton primary.

Pretty sure Ralph scored in the famous Paddy 5 o'clock equaliser game.
    He did 25 yarder IIRC

I was on my second pint in the Tiny Arms when Paddy’s offside header went in

I always thought the five forwards against Valencia was a line of inside forwards, they could all play there.
I miss that centrefold in the Match Day Programme

George Stewart-brought in far too late and allowed to leave far too early. Easily my NO.2 all time centre half.

In an alternative universe Turnbull signed George Stewart and Alan Rough at the start of the 73-74 season and Hibernian blasted there way to a first championship in 22 years. Cropley stayed and became a legendary one team player at Hibs. Gordon and O'Rourke continued as a lethal partnership for several more seasons.

WTF was Eddie Turnbull thinking of when he signed the barrel? Beggars belief really.

As the OP said ET ‘ lost it ‘ big time after Split

Nowadays you would expect to keep Gordon Cropley O’Rourke and add Harper Stewart and Roughie for strength in depth and still bring in Ally MacLeod

10/9/1975 League Cup Quarter Final First Leg

    Hibernian 1 v 0 Montrose

    Harper 85

Montrose were to prove a tough nut to crack as they defended as if their very life’s depended upon it

Joe Harper gave HIBS the lead from an 85th minute free-kick when Montrose goalkeeper Dave Gorman appeared to dive over the ball

The result of the second leg would have ramifications throughout the squad

After the match Eddie Turnbull said only Jim McArthur John Blackley and Iain Munro had played to form

    10/9/1932 Scottish League Second Division

    Hibernian 3 v 0 Leith Athletic

    Halligan
    McPherson
    Hart

Hibs found themselves in the Second Division for the second successive season and this time they were determined to do something about it by winning the home Derby they had lost a year ago by a convincing 3-0. HIBS hit the crossbar 3 times in this match

The tactics they played that night has become the norm for a lot of Scottish club's performances. A drab way to approach football. The style get's praised by the Sportsound team regularly too.

Pretty grim few weeks for the Hibs. Between that and the Celtic/Juventus/Celtic week for being the worst let-down in my time supporting Hibs (given it was so long ago, I'll add that my expectations have lessened since.)

There is a report on fitbastats from Atlantahibs said it was his first HIBS game it was a scorcher he sat on a crush barrier in the Cave the whole game and his big brother held onto him so he wouldn’t fall

He had the perfect view of Pat Stanton’s headed goal and Bobby Duncan punching his header off the line

    After that he was hooked

    Stanton

Ex hibee George Farm brought his Raith Rovers side that contained exhibee Joe Baker wearing #8 to Easter Road for this two legged affair

Hibs got off to the worst possible start when the normally reliable Des Bremner put through his own goal. Bobby Smith equalised with a header just before half-time

12/9/1953 Scottish League Cup Quarter Final 1st Leg

    Third Lanark 0 v 4 Hibernian

    Johnstone 3
    Ormond

Lawrie Reilly was out injured and Bobby Combe took over at #9 but Bobby Johnstone was determined to show what he could do

Johnstone was a revelation and he opened the scoring after 20 minutes when he lobbed the keeper after taking a nice pass from Turnbull. After the break Ormond soon made it two and then Johnstone scored the goal of the game. Looking up he saw that his forward colleagues were offside so he ran through on his own holding off three challenges before sliding the ball into the net. Turnbull then missed a penalty but a fourth goal from Johnstone ensured that the return leg would be a formality
