It wasn't really the fault of recruitment - two out of our three fastest players spent the better part of the season injured, so instead of a trifecta of Horgan, Agyepong and Boyle terrifying the opposing defence, it was mostly down to just Horgan.

On paper our signings looked very good imo and looked to have a strong squad, only thing I thought we were slightly lacking was energy in centre mid.
But with Horgan, Boyle, Aygepong, Kamberi, MacLaren and Hyndman I thought we would have plenty of energy and attacking options. Mallan also offered a huge goal threat.
Unfortunately near enough all of them were injured at some point of the season.
Hyndman was a huge disappointment as I thought I would be brilliant.
Aygepong looked very good in cameo appearances but with him we knew he had a track record of injuries.

Looks strong if all fit and playing to there best. Also shows we heavily backed Lennon financially.
Blackpool about to sign James devitt

Not overly fussed if we miss Devitt.
Plays behind the striker and I expect Allan to be there all season, also have Newell, Mallan, Murray and Horgan who can play that role.
I asked Hecky at the Hibs Club the night of the Q & A with him and Stockdale (when he told us about the friendlies that had still to be announced) if the Carlisle friendly was part of the deal for Devitt as it had been rumoured prior to that night. He said "we're not interested in Devitt"
Hibs, Hearts and some Championship teams after Chuks Aneke according to Keith Downie.
Jeez I never said it was the recruitment's fault, my post said only that we were slow and predictable, yes we had players out injured but Agyepong was a poor signing and we had only Horgan as a proper wide player, Hecky has spotted our weak areas and looks like he may be putting that right.
GMS signing for pompey subject to a medical
Chuks was an absolute classic signing on FM 2012.
This seems like one of those countless occasions where a journo just throws a load of clubs together that would be looking in similar markets just to see what sticks.
I hope it's genuine though, could be a very useful player with something completely different to the rest of our midfield options.
