2 in the reserve league and 3 in the reserve cup

Interesting article. The reserve league table shows we've only played 2 games, no one has played more than 3. As mentioned our game tomorrow is postponed so next scheduled game is January. I know there have been some reserve cup games also but its strange that both Blaney and Kean in the article place great emphasis on playing against men in the reserves when it appears there have only been a few games. It does seem as if greater organisation is required for the reserve league.
Why are so many of our highly rated youngsters out of contract? Laidlaw, O’Connor and Blaney off the top of my head all out in the summer. Strange!
Going by my Football Manager save, we need to get Laidlaw tied up pronto. I've loaned him out to Jeonbuk in the K League and he's tearing it up!
Reuben McAllister looking a player too.
Currently 4-0 up against Aberdeen just before half-time
4-1 half time. Good performance.
5-2 now. Might follow the 18’s
6-2, excellent!!
Who scored for Hibs?
Good all round player who has a great chance of making it. Very skillful, pace, can beat a player and can finish.
He was good last season but in the few times I've seen him this season he has kicked on.
Brooster sees a lot more of him than me and really likes him as a player.
Can play anywhere across the front. Likes to drift wide left like Stokes but can play centre-forward. Seen him play wide midfield as well but definitely more effective in the final third.
Five goals and a few assists in his last three games. Physically he's improved, his attitude seems a lot better, and he's hitting form at a really useful time.
Is there a link anywhere to the current league table?
From what I can see on the SFA website
Aberdeen played 12 points 23
Rangers played 12 points 22
Celtic played 11 points 19
Motherwell played 10 points 17
Hibs played 11 points 16
Hamilton played 8 points 16
Hearts played 10 points 7
Dundee United played 10 points 5
St Mirren played 9 points 4
I know he is a Hun but if you follow @rfcyouths on twitter or input rfcyouths.wordpress.com into google you will get great info on U18 games - although he concentrates mostly on their games he is excellent for keeping up to date with all current U18s fixtures/results & tables and he also has this info going back to 2008.

Heard that Murray Aiken has been successful in his appeal against his red card vs Nantes so available for the tie vs Dortmund.
Can all these out of contract youth players sign pre-contract deal in January with other clubs?

18,s result

I see it's East Stand only for Dortmund game, no singing section in FF this time?
2-0 👍
Laidlaw scored twice. No idea of team have asked for it on twitter.
Schofield, Megwa,Blaney, McIntyre x 2, Hastie, Aiken, hamilton, Zaid, O`Connor, Laidlaw
Emmanuel Johnson on in second half
Any truth about Ethan Laidlaw not been offered an extension to his contract that runs out in the summer😳
The Dortmund game is on BT, be good to watch it.
Would prefer to see Laidlaw get a chance in the first team over utter dross like McKirdy.
Been discussed on here several times.
Be delighted if you could confirm or deny, if you think the situation is different.
And I would suggest after reading Josh’s comments about his current contract expiring at the end of this season in The Evening News in October, that it would have been ‘common knowledge’ where you are too.
You may have missed it….and indeed I may have missed any subsequent reports that it has already been extended…but I try to keep abreast of things as best I can…and pretty sure it would have been worthy of reporting.
That’s the beauty of the internet these days..instead of waiting on air mailed Pink News’s for info, we can get the same news anywhere in the world at the same time you do.
I can neither confirm nor deny because I simply don't know Fred.
Being frank you don't really know either, you have read posts on here where for all you know the posters might not know either.
I have searched the official website and although there are several articles on the players signing they don't state when the contracts run out.
Just because Tam, Bert and Wul have all posted things doesn't make them true.
Search the Evening News archive for the October article with Josh where he himself states that his current contract ends at the end of this season
There has been no advice that that position has changed and pretty sure that when Josh does sign an extension…as I hope he would..that it would be considered worthy of reporting.
I said it had been discussed on here…..I did not say That was why it was true…….that came from Josh’s interview.
Thanks for the advice about not believing everything that’s posted on here as being true, but I kind
Of figured that out already, thanks.
He has been offered a contract extension but won’t be signing on the terms been offered I believe. Hibs have offered a contract but get the feeling it’s to cover themselves so we get compensation opposed to offering improved terms to actually show we are desperate to keep the laddie and see a future for him which is a surprise to me.
When we let Conner Young go to Rangers earlier in the season it was quoted that we had other young strikers that were valued more and it would give them a better chance to break into the first team
O Conner and Laidlaw were the two strikers it was supposed to benefit
Will be interesting to see what happens
The worry fir me is we have spent a lot on promising players to be developed in a mythical B team Mostbof it has been wasted snd no one looks at this stage like they will break into the first team
So L J is rightly moving as many on as he can But some are on longer contracts and may not be able to be moved on So young players in Development team may now suffer as we are struggling possibly to give them desks that would keep them at the club
I saw maybe 10 under 18 games last season and I've been to the two European games this season.
I know all the players won't make it in Hibs first team but I would think Ethan Laidlaw is one of the likeliest if not the most likely. Others I think have an outstanding chance are Oscar and Jacob McIntyre, Murray Johnstone and Murray Aiken.
We lost Connor Young to Rangers at the end of the season but he has done very little there to argue with Hibs decision to let him go.
I would be appalled if Hibs just let Ethan Laidlaw go without a fight, in fact I just can't see it happening and common sense has to prevail.
I agree with everything you have said and those are the lads I think have a future. Young McIntyre is the one I believe they have big hopes for, was speaking to Big Daz and Gareth evens and they were raving about him and think he had a right chance. Laidlaw looked good in the European games I saw and surprised he’s not been given more a chance at first team level. As you say hopefully they reach an agreement
Conor young was just as much our decision as it was us "losing him". The club figured he was the least likely to go far out of the 3 young strikers, weve also got a few younger lads that look good too, so they allowed him to look elsewhere as to not stall his development and stall the other 2. O'Connor and Laidlaw are far far better players, only thing Young has on them is physical stature.
Will point out Ethan Laidlaws twitter likes are an interesting look. Liking a comment saying something along the lines of "keep banging them in, they can't ignore you forever". If for whatever reason there isn't a deal on the table for him, that's shocking.
I heard similar, and got told discussions are still ongoing as he's not happy with the current deal. (should say from what I've heard he's not asking for anything mental, just something reasonable).
Although I said on twitter it wasn't all black and white as him not being offered anything and got told it is as black and white so not sure what to believe.
Hibs were always letting Young go therefore it was a bonus to get £50k for him. He won't come back to bite us I'm sure. Laidlaw is a standout every time I see him, Ive seen him play at least a dozen times this season. It's frightening to think he can still play u18s next season. He's the one we need to keep.
