Not a fan of Clark, other two would be good additions though.

The Sun reporting this morning that FC Krasnodar are after Porteous for £1 million.
Paddy Lane at Fleetwood may be worth keeping an eye on. 7 assists in 9 games.
Lewis Morgan joins New York Red Bulls for $1.2m
I've always liked the look of Charles-Cook at County. Has a bit of pace, likes to take on a man and looks comfortable with both feet
What about Chris Kane of St Johnstone. Not the most prolific but holds the ball up well.
Utter nonsense, have you watched his career at all ? You could not get a more different player, added to which, Chris has more desire in his right toe than that waste of space Vine. CK works defenders, is a pest, scores important goals albeit his strike rate isn't up there with the likes of Nisbet, but he also wins an unbelievable amount of free kicks with his ability to hassle defenders. Also drops deeper to help midfield.
Try watching him :aok:
Will this mean that St Mirren won't be our feeder club now?
A 2 year deal with double cup winners who are currently in a worse position than us.
I just think certain players are suited to certain clubs. Liam Craig looked a good signing for us but it never worked out. Rowan Vine another who’d had a decent season and then was chronic for us.
We need better than Chris Kane. I’m sure a decent player in his own right.
Kane I think is a good option to bring off the bench and close a game out. He works very hard, is good in the air and is quick and mobile. He gets you fouls and generally makes a nuisance of himself.
I don't think he could play upfront by himself as he doesn't score enough goals. As an option from the bench or player with a partner I think he'd be a decent signing.
Kane's one of these strikers who are great at the defensive side of the game but weak at the attacking side.
If you actually want to have possession, create chances and take them then he's pretty hopeless.
If you want to hack, chop, elbow, niggle, win free kicks and nick the odd goal from a set piece before all out defending then he's your man.
A 451 with him as the focal point would be eye bleedingly awful.
He's not without his uses, although he wouldn't be my choice of a striker to play for Hibs.
Deary me.
Goodness me, people can't seriously be after Chris Kane...
Surprised there even needs to be a discussion about that one if I'm honest!
I got slated on here months ago suggesting Tony Watt. Miles above what we have now.
Chris Kane and Tony Watt, show some imagination folks please.
We tried to get Kane in the summer, but we took too long and messed him about and he signed a new contract with st Johnstone, thank **** coz he’s pish!

Very Connor salmon-esque
Described as hard working cause they’re pish in front of goal
No thanks
If Jack Ross was after Chris Kane I'm delighted he was sacked before getting another transfer window.
Think Kane would have been a reasonable addition to our front line. Different type of forward player and gave us so many problems last season.
I’m sorry our current strikers are or have both been slated for not scoring goals yet folk think Kane would be a good signing.
If jack Ross wanted Kane folk would be doing there dinger that there’s players all across the world out there and he wants players who have experience of the league.
Not a priority but I think we should be after Charles-cook at County.
Has always looked a stand out for them, I have to say I don't know too much about his defensive attributes but from an attacking sense he looks great for a full back.
Reading there’s a host of Scottish Premiership clubs chasing two players in the League of Ireland.
Georgie Kelly of Bohemians - top scorer in the league (26 goals), and player of the year. Available on a free transfer. Would be a terrific signing tbh.
Johnny Kenny of Sligo Rovers - 18 years old, and meant to be the next big thing.
Wonder if we’re amongst the interested clubs for either of these players. IMO, we should be looking at the LOI more at the top talents.
Kelly is a bit like Doidge a late developer, his fitness was never up to elite level but he's got himself in good nick now. It's a big jump up though. I'm not convinced by him but I thought Doidge would flop as well. Kenny is likely to get interest from bigger clubs than us. Premiership interest he's a real prospect.
I see Daniel Mandroiu is on the verge on joining Celtic. I sent Mathie an email about him two years ago when his contract had six months left and he was available. He replied to say thanks:wink:, what could have been.
Shame, Mandroiu would have been an outstanding signing (albeit, as someone with Bohs sympathies, I’d feel a bit conflicted given he crossed the city.)
Reckon we should be monitoring the league of Ireland more - it’s a few steps below, but given some of the clubs get European exposure, there’s surely gonna be a few gems we can pluck out.
Think it’s fairly likely Porteous will be away in January.

Definitely. LOI must be up there in the bang for your buck category when looking at some of the players to come through there over the years.
My Mrs has family from Coolock so I'm well versed in the Dublin clubs. I wouldn't recommend Coolock to anyone mind, it makes Glasgow look tame.
How long does Porto have left on his contract?
18 months? No way would we accept 1 million 😂😂😂
He won’t go in January unless we have a replacement lined up The squad is already too small But if he isn’t going to sign a new contract he will be away in the summer

Reports in Ireland that we are looking to sign Johnny Kenny. 18 year old forward from Sligo Rovers. Was apparently at the game tonight.
Recently signed a three year deal with Sligo so there would be a fee involved. Has just come off a breakthrough season in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
No bad start to his career!

Kenny would be a terrific signing.
Hope we’re able to win him over by offering more first team opportunities than Celtic could. At the game last night.

Raith Rovers sign Sam Stanton.
Not sure those Soccerbase stats are correct. He has played a lot more than that this season.
Ah yeah, still impressive for an 18 year old. Just not 11 goals in 10 games impressive.
If it is a straight decision between us and Celtic you would hope he would sign for us. Celtic has a reputation within Irish football as being a black hole for young Irish footballers where promising players go and never get a look in with the first team.
Having a full season of senior football at a decent level behind him it would be a massive backward step for him to go and mostly play for Celtic B in the Lowland League.
The Irish Independent now reporting that that Kenny move looks to be on, to go through on the opening day of the transfer window.
He has a €150k release clause that Hibs are willing to meet and the offer of first team football means we are likely to be preferred to Celtic.
€150k would seem to be an absolute steal for this player, but then Everton signed Seamus Coleman from Sligo 10 or so years ago for even less than that.
Incidentally the Kenny fee is going down very badly with League of Ireland fans, who have long felt that the league's best players are sold for well below their real world value. Parallels with Scottish players moving to England on the cheap I suppose.
I'm guessing since it's a release fee being met there will be no future resale clause of any significance involved. Probably just a question of first team opportunities at Hibs against potentially higher wages at Celtic for the player to decide on now.
Just to temper things slightly, when I googled Johnny Kenny I read this article which talks about the highly rated Irish youngsters that have move to Celtic and not kicked on. TBH it probably says more about the Celtic model than the players, however you would of thought that some would of shown their potential on their various loan moves.
https://thecelticstar.com/the-strach...-irish-talent/
This says more about Celtic than anything else though. Irish football is going through a noticeable upturn in terms of youth development after a very long period of producing very few players - which has led to the senior national team being in the poor state it is currently in.
However, the big exception to this has been the Irish players who have signed for Celtic who have, time and again, stalled or even gone backwards at that club. They don't seem to have any kind of joined up strategy for youth development, they just sign loads of young players and hope for the best. There is no development path to the first team so the players just end up on bad loan moves that don't help their development.
This is important in terms of our prospects of signing Kenny. Traditionally Celtic would have been the obvious club for him to sign for in this situation, but the issues with youth development at Celtic are well known in Irish football circles. The smart thing for Kenny to do here would be to sign for Hibs - unless he wants to waste away in the Lowland League like all the others.
Probably worth noting as well that none of those players mentioned in that article were signed from the League of Ireland. They were almost all signed from the youth setups of English clubs - which means those clubs had already looked them over and decided to let them go.
I do like these types of signings, however, I get the feeling some might be getting their hopes up a bit too much.
I would expect him to be a Dan Mackay type signing that doesn't go straight into the first team and needs to take his chances.
In saying that, Mackay has been out for bloody ages, when is he due back?
