John Bercow: It's time to rage against the liar on the right | The New European
Former Commons speaker John Bercow on his anger at the government’s warped priorities and the Voter ID plan which proposes "a solution to a problem that does not exist"
What’s in the Queen’s Speech, and what’s left out of it, tells us everything about the warped priorities and sheer unpleasantness of this government. I am enraged about it and anyone who cares about human wellbeing and the health of our democracy should likewise be enraged.
It is delusional to suppose that we can compete with the Far East by slashing pay and conditions, rather than by sound investment, modern infrastructure and quality products. A sweatshop economy is commercially counter-productive and sure to spawn worse employee health, physical and mental alike.

4 scottish political parties show unity against priti Patel.
Patel telling Sky News that trust and confidence has been compromised in the BBC. :faf:
Tim Davie who was recently installed as the BBC chairman, former tory activist, former boss of Sunak, who has donated £400,000 to the tory party.
He's come out with statements that it would be improper for the BBC to criticise the government and stands accused of binning the Mash Report because it was too left wing.
Nobody can have any doubts, if there ever were any, that the BBC does its masters bidding.
Tories vote down Labour's amendment bill to clamp down on tax avoidance, they're officially the tax dodgers party now...:agree:

Institutionally Islamophobic. Will the right wing media go berserk, in the same way they did with allegations of anti-Semitism within Labour?

It'll save all that unpredictable off shoring stuff where you're dependant on dodgy corrupt politicians in far away places to dodge paying tax if you can rely on dodgy corruption politicians you can control at home, especially if you are one of them.

The skeletons are fighting their way out of the closet.
Cummings says Matt Hancock should have been fired for 10 or 15 things, and he and Cabinet Sec told the PM as much, he says many people at senior levels disastrously failed
'Let's have chicken pox parties so people catch Covid' - what Mark Sedwill, Cab Sec, said - Cummings
-1,000 people in Italy had already died of Covid
Devastating
#DomCom reaches a crescendo
@CommonsSTC asks "Should people be worried about #CorporateManslaughter charges?"
#Dominicummimgs replies
#Quote "The PM should be Fired" @BorisJohnson https://t.co/UQRg9vED2i
Who knew that Dominic Cummings could tell the truth 😉
Disaster for the government. Polling between them and Labour will only widen by 2 or 3 this week.
Is it anything that wasnt known anyway? The Govt initially hummed and hawed whilst dropping hints of a cackhanded version of herd immunity. Johnson appeared on TV saying CV19 should be allowed to sweep through the population i.e. they wanted to do nothing about it at all.
All baldychops is doing is adding in detail. He's probably got the proof as well given how weasley he is.

Cummings working through the cabinet giving everyone a kicking.
This is ****ing mental. Protecting Rishi Sunak quite obviously, but this is the nuclear option being pushed.
It just comes down to how much you believe from him.

i'm not listening but did the BBC start muting/switch channels when he was naming who he kept leaking to....Kuenssberg :greengrin

@iandunt is worth following for the best updates
Even serial liars tell the truth occasionally, normally when it suits there agenda. That said, I wouldn't trust Cummings as far as I could throw him, which is slightly better than how far I could spit Johnson.
Whatever you think of Cummings or Johnson, these revelations are seriously concerning.
We really are governed by a right bunch of *****. Advised by *****.
"With [Marcus] Rashford, the director of comms said to the PM - twice - don't pick a fight with Rashford. The PM decided to pick a fight and then surrendered twice."
I wish they did say that, but sadly the enquiry found that there was NO evidence of institutional Islamophobia in the Tory party. Which is a joke since the ****ing LEADER of said party was making jokes about letter boxes and terrorists. As you say, the gulf between that and with what Corbyn actually said and did, and how he is now basically a meme for anti semitism is just disgusting.
He's just confirming what I've thought of Hancock since day 1. A lying, incompetent, self serving piece of tory ****. The ******* should be jailed!
Dominic Cummings says "it had already been decided I was going to move my family out of London regardless of the Covid rules" because of security threats against them
He says when the story came out, he and the PM agreed to stonewall it due to security
https://t.co/5j5uTmucd0 https://t.co/MwlXvzXJNa
So which one was it? Childcare or security?
Thing is, sure as night follows day is that Boris will escape from this unscathed.
That's a cert. Hancock will be the scapegoat for the entire Gov. Cummings will be painted as an aggrieved ex employee who got the boot. I don't trust the Tory's, I don't trust Cummings either, if he had a shred of integrity he would have walked and talked much sooner. The truth will lay somewhere in the middle with much of what he is spilling imo.
Starmer looks and sounds like he’s meekly following Cummings in finally getting stuck into Johnson, although not being as critical or as incisive and without any genuine enthusiasm for it. And being led by events. Dominic ****ing Cummings playing a new role of leader of the opposition :faf:
18 months ago this kind of spectacle would be unimaginable. The whole political system is in disarray.
Notable that Johnson’s likely successors, Sunak and Gove, both got off scot free. Despite both being at the heart of decision making and Sunak actually inviting the deniers in to argue against a 2nd lockdown.
Can only mean Dom thinks he’s coming back. :dunno:
Cummings is and always has been Gove's man (or maybe vice versa). He was never incriminating him.
Hancock was set up as the fall guy from about March 1st last year, I'm stunned he's lasted this long but he might be useful if there is an imminent enquiry.
Sunak got off fairly lightly. It was his flip flopping and tardiness in continuing furlough that led to some of the riskiest behaviour last autumn.
Johnson was incriminated as a total **** but we all knew that about him anyway.
Cummings is a devious sort. I think he has told a version of the truth but it's his truth. He's dangerous.
Since when was Dominic Cummings such a stickler for protocol?!
What a joke. His 'revelations' are only marginally more newsworthy than that farce around what sort of wallpaper Johnson's girlfriend bought. So people in government fall out, some of them can't stand each other and the UK, like most of the world, wasn't well enough prepared for a global pandemic. How about telling us something anyone with even the vaguest interest in current affairs didn't already know?
Jilted ex-employee sticks it to his former employers is what this amounts to. Cummings is a crafty (and, admittedly, highly successful) campaigner to have on your side but sounds like he was a loose cannon when trying to help run the country.
Older people from the north of England being interviewed on the news, giving it the “they tried their best”, “it’s easy to act in hindsight” and “we’re the best country at vaccinating people”.
We’re absolutely doomed and these fuds are complicit in what this government are doing.
Weird narrative being developed that there wasnt a plan when there was a plan.

Could it be there was a plan (there definitely was) but Johnson, Cummings ect thought that it would be unpopular with the public (Johnsons main focus is to remain popular) and so went of on a tangent with a scattergun approach.
So the weird narrative that is now being put forward is to cover up yet another, possibly the most serious failure of the lot. That is not following the plan that was already there.
There most definitely was a Pandemic Plan that they abandoned and decided to make it up as they went. The excuse was that it was only for flu.
I always imagined the basics would be the same and could be adjusted for a different disease. Looks like Singapore maybe managed to work that out.

That kind of hits home the personal tragedies all over the country that are in many ways being completely ignored imo deliberately by the media. It soon became all about numbers with little or no thought given to the dead or grieving friends and families that the complete incompetence and corruption caused in the last year of so. The same charlatan is then able to make crass comments about piles of bodies being preferable to another lockdown. Seems he is untouchable as imo a Labour pm doing similar would have been forced from office. This country is such a very dangerous and corrupt ****show at the moment.
Wow that is powerful, a difficult listen. The truly sad thing though is some of the comments. I'm so glad I'm no longer part of this **** show of a country.
So Boris is a Tim, that should put the cat amongst the pigeons within the loyalist community.
He's a protestant, catholic, Sikh, Muslim, hindu, atheist who supports celtc, sevco, liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Spurs.
Whichever way the mob seems to be running he'll get to the front and shout follow me.
Dangerous unprincipled liar.
