I could never understand why he didnt get more starts. Is it as simple as he's just not impressive in training?

I don't actually think that's right to be honest.
He had a good record at Hibs for goals but his all round play wasn't as effective as our other options. He now finds himself in pretty much the same situation at Ross County albeit he'll start more games.
Would still be a good squad player for Hibs but wasn't good enough to be first choice. Don't think anyone is really claiming otherwise since he's gone.
OK no problem, we all have our opinions. I'm not saying Shaw is better than Doidge but Doidge can't possibly be called an accomplished finisher. I point you to his many skelfs, air shots, mis jumps to put headers well wide or over the bar. Again not saying Doidge is a bad player but all I'm saying is Shaw could still be doing a job at Hibs
Shaw is nowhere near what we need if aspirations are the top end of the table and Europe. He's at Ross County for a reason and struggling to get a game recently. There's a pretty good reason for that.

Sorry if that’s been posted already but I wonder if we’ll see any of the Brighton players released coming in.
Not being good enough for the Premiership isn’t the same as not being good enough for us, they’ll know all about those you g players and wouldn’t surprise me if they’re recommended to us, even if it’s just to get them in to train.
The players who have been released now have no connection to Brighton so there's no reason we would have any inside advantage in signing them. If we get anyone from Brighton, and I'm sceptical, much more likely IMO to be younger players who Brighton want to send on a development assignment.
I disagree.
Brighton might rate these guys but just no place for them in the first team squad, they could quite easily give us the heads up that they’re worth taking a look at. Similarly they could vouch for us being a good, well run club to the players.
Maybe not relevant to this group of youngsters but I think Brighton attracting young players by saying if you don’t cut it at Brighton we could get your foot in the door at another club at not as high a level would be appealing to a youngster. Means they’ve effectively got the chance to make it at 2 clubs.
That was my understanding of one of the points of this link up.
