Porteous got dropped for a 4 game spell that season because he had a poor run. He was also pipped to YPOTY by Doig, who was also part of that defence. The thread from that time has only one mention of Ryan Porteous on it.. and that mention is to point out how well Paul McGinn has done considering he has Porteous playing inside him.
There’s also these threads from the end of that season, it’s hardly gushing with praise with an almost unanimous feeling that he shouldn’t have been starting in the biggest game of the season such were his performance levels.
