Wales seem to be at a very low ebb at the moment.

dunno why vunipola thinks he was hard done to with even just the yellow, rightly upgraded to a Red though
England look decidedly toothless, I know it’s Ireland and they’re a man down but even still, they’ve just had bugger all going forward from I’ve seen.
Seen a fair bit of chat online saying the same, a few people suggesting the referee took the easy route of a yellow, knowing someone else would make the call on the red or not.
A few others wondering if the referees have been told to do that, to give the bunker teams a chance to get used to the new process, and speculated whether the World Cup would continue in the same way.
All Blacks v South Africa on Sky Showcase and Sky Sports Mix on Friday night 1930 KO, no Sky Sports subscription required.
Farrell four-game ban reinstated after appeal, misses first two group games at WC, i didn't realise he's already had five and four game bans in the past and was also let off lightly by a South African referee in one game.
but i have mentioned for several years now that England sides were just big brutes that played unattractive rugby, i can probably go back to saying just that even when they won the WC exactly 20 years ago.
Vunipola banned for three games reduced to two if he attends a coaching programme, will miss the first WC game
i thought this was a strange ko time for South Africa v New Zealand before realising it was at Twickenham
South Africa streets ahead here 14-0, had NZ penned back for i think the first 18 mins with NZ giving away penalty after penalty so scott barret finally getting the sin-bin, then on 38 mins given his 2nd sin-bin and therefore a red card, TMO will decide if it stays Red
HT 14-0
SA with their biggest ever win v NZ and their biggest since 1928 FT 37-7
commiserations to the first side they face in the WC
that'll be us unfortunately :(
Yeah I thought New Zealand looked very poor, albeit some credit goes to SA for that.
I love watching New Zealand play, but I think the quality of their forwards has been in decline for a few years, which is affecting their set piece abilities and to a lesser degree their breakdown work. That said, their backs are magnificent, Will Jordan is in the conversation for best winger in the world at the moment, Beuden Barrett, Jordy Barrett, Damien Mackenzie is electric (but rarely gets on the pitch for some reason), Rieko Ioane.
Excellent crowds at Murrayfield for these warm-up games. Have they been well priced?
I think so - based on my season pass, it worked out about £30 a game (which includes the 6N games vs England and France).
Another game of 2 halves today - we were shocking first half, and relentless second half. We cannot start that slowly against the Boks (who looked scary last night).
Ben Healy looks a very decent player.
FT France 41 Australia 17, easy enough
so here we are, the WC begins tonight
France v New Zealand
Really looking forward to this. The draw made years ago has shafted Scotland unfortunately. South Africa or France the winners for me
These anthems are AWFUL.
Watching this on delay, disappointed by the NZ display, apart from their 2 tries they've been very meh! Scotland had 2 very good ganes against the French recently, look like nothing to fear from these 2 teams.
Yes, the Welsh support in full voice takes some beating.
Terrific performance by the French. Under a lot of pressure to get off to a good start and they came through a really tough test in a game that was for a long time much closer than the final scoreline might suggest.
France deserved the win, thought the all blacks looked disjointed and couldn’t get any foothold really. After the defeat to South Africa in the warm ups, you wonder if they’ve lost form at the worst time.
Do referees actually look out for forward passes any more? There were at least 4 obvious ones not called last night, with the NZ 2nd try the worst. How the TMO didn’t give that I don’t know.
Of course despite the fact that it was clearly forward and didn’t reach the player it was intended for ITV’s pundits decided it was a brilliant pass and “absolutely spot on”.
watching Italy/Namibia wtf is going on with these national anthems, laughable
It's not that the anthems themselves are bad, it's this abysmal choral thing they're doing with them. I've never not enjoyed La Marseilles before but last night was painful.
That was a really poor game of rugby - Italy looked good, but so completely imbalanced. Other than take another 3 thumpings, what are Namibia actually going to do?
ah well bang goes my Romania +52, huddies
this is what the groups would have been if the draw had been done using common sense just several months ago and not over three years ago
Group A
South Africa
Fiji
Japan
Uruguay
Namibia
Pool B
Ireland
Scotland
Australia
Tonga
Romania
Group C
New Zealand
Argentina
Italy
Georgia
Portugal
Group D
France
England
Wales
Samoa
Chile
yep good work Beaumont  ridiculous doing a draw away back then
i would have fancied us against the Aussies, as it is we have no chance going through and plucky wee England have a great chance of making it right through to the SF, imo
instead we will lose two from New Zealand, France, Ireland, South Africa in the QF, grrrr
what an absolute imbecile that argentinian is, that's a red imo just 10 mins on the clock
brainless fool
that'll teach me for missing the first few minutes to watch the footy masters:greengrin still think the argy will be red as well
Lovely drop goal from Ford.
Wow another! Even better!
another grreat drop goal
england taking the utter p@sh out of this argentian side
argies are all over the place
english fans desperately wanting a red card for argentina
3 drop goals
they're laughing at you argentina
has this argentina side actually played this game before, they're worse than namibia
they are absolutely awful
Ford with a hat trick of drop goals!
Ford should permanently replace Farrell in the team.
Farrell's an annoying looking sod anyway.
have to laugh really, discipline, un-forced errors, knock-on's/offsides AND an extra player they are absolutely dreadful here
at least give them a game fgs
england don't have to go anywhere near that twenty two to get points
i bet argentinians all around this stadium are raging at this performance
South Africa v Scotland is an easy one
i'm looking forward to a contest between Wales and Fiji
Argentina look awful here, an amateur club side would give them a game
Argentina have been so bad. They notch a try with a minute left. 13 penalties and 13 handling errors.
Very poor Argentina team, normally they have a bit of fight.
Best England performance under Borthwick by a significant distance. Surprised me by how well they controlled that game. Argentina seemed to freeze.
The commentators are talking complete crap. Just shut up and let's watch the game.
Line outs letting us down. Again.
Poor decisions by Russell and in the lineouts, got to get this sorted or SA will walk away with this game without being tested.
not too disappointed to see etzebeth go off, great player
Started shakily but some excellent stuff from Scotland. Best try opportunity of the half as well. 6-3 half time.
HT 6-3 didn't see this coming :greengrin
Been a bruising first half!!!
Stick on red card ignored brilliant. Think we are getting bent over decision wise.
Enormous decision not to send off Kriel.
Why is Graham not passing the ball with the overlap?
Welsh guy on Tmo
took a while but that's now game
SA step up a gear and game over.
Poor decisions and a poor TMO, SA power now starting to tell.
Can’t win when you’re playing the officials as well as a team this good.
Dreadful officiating.
Refs let them away with regularly playing the ball on the deck, stick on red not even reviewed, we’ve not played well against an excellent team, but been totally screwed over by the officials
Nailed on that kriel will get a ban after the match, but we don’t get the benefit as we should, pathetic
We didn't lose that game due to the ref.
We just aren’t good enough. They could have gone up another gear too.

6 line outs lost in their 22, paints a picture.
They were the better team, sure. But they should have been down to 14 from about 3 minutes in. They repeatedly got away with playing the ball on the ground at the breakdown with no punishment. I thought we’d have lost before it started (they’re world champions for a reason), but Gardner and Whitehouse made absolutely sure of that.
Been a bruising first half!!!
I think Russell should have been yellow carded and he only gave a penalty.
Refs are poor all the time for Scotland. Its a common theme.
I'm more concerned by the fact we lost 6 line outs in their 22. And we STILL can't hold onto the ball our handling errors kill us. This has never been fixed under GT.

Refereeing in the Wales Fiji game very odd imo. Not an expert in rugby rules but jeezo Fiji on Welsh line three cynical penalties no yellow. Fiji then gives away pen yellow immediately out. Get the impression smaller countries get done over imo.
wow a Fiji conversion there would have cost me £120.............pheeeeww
Fiji so unlucky right at the death
Gutted for Fiji, they deserved to beat wales.
English referee Mathew Carley getting it tight from some quarters for his performance in the Wales/Fiji game
Fiji told they are owed apology after English referee's "grotesque" decisions vs Wales (msn.com)
Gregor Townsend not too happy with the ref we had either
Frustrated Scotland coach blasts Rugby World Cup refereeing after "inexcusable" decision (msn.com)
it's not too often Rugby referees get it tight
The refereeing was absolutely ridiculous in the Wales game though. If it was reffed fairly Fiji would have won that with room to spare.
Wouldn't say the same about the Scotland game though, as a neutral I thought that was reffed fairly enough. Scotland were just overpowered on the day.
Agree totally about the Welsh game that genuinely looked bent. The Scotland game no one is saying Scotland should have won however looked a clear red after a couple of minutes which unoubtedly would have changed the game though like England not sure South Africa wouldn't have won with 14 anyway.
2 weeks between scotlands first 2 fixtures, so a week on Sunday before we play again
No idea why there’s that length of time between matches, similar sized squad for a Lions tour would play twice a week most weeks, and when touring the southern hemisphere or them touring here, they place pretty much every week
France concede an early try to Uruguay (who have a lovely kit), but normal service rapidly being resumed - even with their B team.
the french boy should have had his Yellow upgraded to Red against Uruguay, shoulder to head with no wrap
Ben Whitehouse was the TMO
anyway, wee £10 on a New Zealand win tonight starting at -70 points though i was tempted for a few seconds to stick it on Namibia at +70 :) instead
jings was that the longest Haka ever
Tremendous performance from Fiji to beat Australia.
