Not retreating 10 metres at the previous penalty. We have been warned twice about penalties so no issues with a card for that
    Cheers

all of a sudden my £10 on a France win at -15 is looking good

pity i'll still only get a lousy £19 back

still, maybe we will get a 2nd breath here

it's added to my £32 for both Rugby League finals, Rugby is usually pretty good for a wee lift

should be a good test against Georgia in a fortnight

huw jones so unlucky, good following up by van der merwe for the try :)

    Darge nice try

that 2nd breath is working so far :)

    27-22

brilliant try 27-27 con to come, the french crowd are silenced a tad here, con missed :(

Sutherland totally ****s up in the scrum, france take the gift in front of the sticks 30-27

    1 min remaining

last chance mucked up with a poor lineout, certainly kept the french crowd quiet though

Gutted in the end, fantastic effort to come back but not for the first time let down by the line out.

So rugby IS as corrupt as football. Completely overturned. What a bull**** outcome. Gilchrist’s red against France last year featured a player being lowered into a “high tackle” which World Rugby ignored, but they’ll let Farrell off: a total thug who has no interest in learning any lessons. Wonder who’ll get hurt in England’s group as a result…

Any other player and they are banned.

They constantly go on about player safety but this confirms they have zero interest in that given it’s Farrell. He does have pre cons for similar type tackles and seems to avoid punishment on occasion.

Farrell has been protected for years. A disgraceful decision by an organisation who proclaim that they are all about player safety

That is an absolute shocker, I see the medical people are going mad at this decision (never opened the link I read the story in The Metro).

McInally should surely hold off on the retirement until after the tournament, there has got to be a reasonable chance one of the other three hookers will drop out injured at some point in the next 6 weeks.

He's on standby, but I'm not sure he'll play in the RWC - I suspect he might play vs Georgia, and he'll keep himself fit, but I'm sure Rambo's already reconciled not playing in the RWC barring an injury.

Instead of Steve Borthwick venting his frustration at the The Rugby Authorities surely it's Owen Farrell who should feel the wrath of hie frustrations , after all he's the one who continually keeps putting himself in these situations due to his inability to learn from his previous mistakes, this despite having attended " Tackle School " to help him improve his technique.

SA haven’t even had to play that well, feels like they have a couple of gears left.

South Africa are so strong. Their players are huge. Huge and good players is a difficult combination to beat!

England look decidedly toothless, I know it’s Ireland and they’re a man down but even still, they’ve just had bugger all going forward from I’ve seen.

They are playing a very bland brand of rugby under Borrhwick. They keep saying they are close to clicking but I really don’t see any signs of it at all!

England - a team of thugs who seem to think they should repeatedly get away with horrendous hits that endanger opposition players.

I was genuienly a little surprised it wasn't an on-field red though - was clear as day from the TMO replays it was a red.

Seen a fair bit of chat online saying the same, a few people suggesting the referee took the easy route of a yellow, knowing someone else would make the call on the red or not.

A few others wondering if the referees have been told to do that, to give the bunker teams a chance to get used to the new process, and speculated whether the World Cup would continue in the same way.

Farrell four-game ban reinstated after appeal, misses first two group games at WC, i didn't realise he's already had five and four game bans in the past and was also let off lightly by a South African referee in one game.

but i have mentioned for several years now that England sides were just big brutes that played unattractive rugby, i can probably go back to saying just that even when they won the WC exactly 20 years ago.

Vunipola banned for three games reduced to two if he attends a coaching programme, will miss the first WC game

I thought the rule was that unless the ref feels he is able to make a definitive red card decision with a certain period of time after play was stopped (60 seconds maybe?) that the ref is required to give a yellow.

i thought this was a strange ko time for South Africa v New Zealand before realising it was at Twickenham

South Africa streets ahead here 14-0, had NZ penned back for i think the first 18 mins with NZ giving away penalty after penalty so scott barret finally getting the sin-bin, then on 38 mins given his 2nd sin-bin and therefore a red card, TMO will decide if it stays Red

    HT 14-0

SA with their biggest ever win v NZ and their biggest since 1928 FT 37-7

commiserations to the first side they face in the WC

    that'll be us unfortunately :(
