Can’t win when you’re playing the officials as well as a team this good.

    Dreadful officiating.

Refs let them away with regularly playing the ball on the deck, stick on red not even reviewed, we’ve not played well against an excellent team, but been totally screwed over by the officials

Nailed on that kriel will get a ban after the match, but we don’t get the benefit as we should, pathetic

We didn't lose that game due to the ref.

We just aren’t good enough. They could have gone up another gear too.

6 line outs lost in their 22, paints a picture.

That’s shocking. Been a long running problem from Scotland under pressure. Every team will be attacking our line out now

They were the better team, sure. But they should have been down to 14 from about 3 minutes in. They repeatedly got away with playing the ball on the ground at the breakdown with no punishment. I thought we’d have lost before it started (they’re world champions for a reason), but Gardner and Whitehouse made absolutely sure of that.

I think Russell should have been yellow carded and he only gave a penalty.

Refs are poor all the time for Scotland. Its a common theme.

I'm more concerned by the fact we lost 6 line outs in their 22. And we STILL can't hold onto the ball our handling errors kill us. This has never been fixed under GT.

Wouldn't have minded the opportunity to play against 14 for 77 mins.

Refereeing in the Wales Fiji game very odd imo. Not an expert in rugby rules but jeezo Fiji on Welsh line three cynical penalties no yellow. Fiji then gives away pen yellow immediately out. Get the impression smaller countries get done over imo.

The inconsistency in the competition so far has been something to behold but that game certainly felt like an example of awful officiating.

Ref warned Wales about yellow card about three times on their line ridiculous.

It was genuinely baffling that Fuji got a card in almost the next phase of play after the last warning. If you’re giving penalties for indiscipline at the breakdown then it should be mandatory last warning and any further infringement is a yellow card.

English referee Mathew Carley getting it tight from some quarters for his performance in the Wales/Fiji game

Fiji told they are owed apology after English referee's "grotesque" decisions vs Wales (msn.com)

Gregor Townsend not too happy with the ref we had either

Frustrated Scotland coach blasts Rugby World Cup refereeing after "inexcusable" decision (msn.com)

McInally should surely hold off on the retirement until after the tournament, there has got to be a reasonable chance one of the other three hookers will drop out injured at some point in the next 6 weeks.
Just as well McInally didn't retire as it turned out.

The refereeing was absolutely ridiculous in the Wales game though. If it was reffed fairly Fiji would have won that with room to spare.

Wouldn't say the same about the Scotland game though, as a neutral I thought that was reffed fairly enough. Scotland were just overpowered on the day.

Agree totally about the Welsh game that genuinely looked bent. The Scotland game no one is saying Scotland should have won however looked a clear red after a couple of minutes which unoubtedly would have changed the game though like England not sure South Africa wouldn't have won with 14 anyway.

When's Scotland's next game? Seems ages since we played the Springboks already.

2 weeks between scotlands first 2 fixtures, so a week on Sunday before we play again

No idea why there’s that length of time between matches, similar sized squad for a Lions tour would play twice a week most weeks, and when touring the southern hemisphere or them touring here, they place pretty much every week

If it was a clear red there would have been a citing though. And there has been no citing.

France concede an early try to Uruguay (who have a lovely kit), but normal service rapidly being resumed - even with their B team.

You do recall the Farrell debacle a few weeks ago, aye? World Rugby don't know what a 'clear' red looks like.

the french boy should have had his Yellow upgraded to Red against Uruguay, shoulder to head with no wrap

    Ben Whitehouse was the TMO

anyway, wee £10 on a New Zealand win tonight starting at -70 points though i was tempted for a few seconds to stick it on Namibia at +70 :) instead
