Looking forward to a six man Kilmarnock defence at ER in a couple years.
McInnes would be a great signing for Killie. I’ve no doubt he’ll get them up and establish them as Premiership club again but there’s every chance the football will not be pretty but it will be effective
Some appointment for Killie it has to be said.
Have to think that is an excellent appointment for Kilmarnock if they pull it off.
McInnes confirmed on an 18 month deal at Killie
I’m surprised McInnes has gone to Killie. I thought have thought he had enough pedigree to have attracted better offers than a team who are currently sitting 4th in the Scottish Championship. He must desperately want back in the game and to stay in Scotland.
With a bit backing and an astute transfer window, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Killie fight their way up the league. For all that McInnes’s teams played in an unnecessarily cynical way, he’s still a bit of a coup for Kilmarnock.
Yes, with hindsight that was a huge misjudgement on his part. He would have improved the Hun quicker than the on they appointed ( whoever that was). He also knocked back Sunderland around the same time.
Strangely enough, I could see him back at Aberdeen, once they've punted Glass.
The Scotsman: “former Rangers job candidate….”

I’m pretty convinced he will too - I’m just surprised that it’s come to this for him. He doesn’t get much credit in the bank for getting Killie out of that league - though I’m sure he’s more concerned by actual money in the bank, which is completely fair enough for a guy who’s currently out of work.
When Ross left us I had thought that the next bottom six job that came up would be his - or between him and McInnes. I’m extremely excited about Maloney’s appointment but I’d have been pretty happy had DM been given the job.
Which is all to say: I think it’s a massive coup for Killie - but a pretty big risk for McInnes.
Given McInnes family stay west of Scotland think he has a few kids it makes sense from a work life balance. Killie still a reasonably big Scottish club and based where they are probably helped this decision. Good appointment for both I think.
Probably lifestyle played a part in McInnes' decision as before Aberdeen he lived in Houston, probably still has his house there and its nice and close to both Kilmarnock and the South side of Glasgow where I think Killie train. Still a decent gig in Scottish football, maybe the best if you exclude the larger city clubs.

He surely won’t last much longer. A prehistoric approach to coaching and man management.
Good start for McInnes. A shoo in for promotion. Listened to sportsound yesterday and he's already targeted top 6 in the Premiership next season. That kind of thing boosts the whole club. Will be a similar appointment to Steve Clarke I reckon.
Rafa Benitez sacked by Everton after seven months in charge
BBC News
Everton should try and get Potter from Brighton.
Whoever they get will need time but the fans are the most intolerant in the league. Two defeats and the knives are out.
Everton are a club who have seriously lost there way.
This could be an opportunity for a good young British manager to come in and make a name for himself.
Any candidates that come to mind ?
Rafa done a tremendous job at Everton, never in doubt 😂
Everton are a poisoned challis which few decent managers will touch with a barge pole.
I like Everton as a club but their current ownership model is an absolute disaster. Eight managers (including two caretakers) since 2016 says it all.
Managers have either been sacked or have walked.
Roberto Martinez being tipped as new Everton manager.
Thhough Martinez would be looking for a bigger or more settled club than Everton if his aim is to return to club management.
Surely Big Dunc will be in with a shout for Everton job?
Everton talking to the Belgian FA.
Rooney and lampard look to be the main contenders according to BBC for the Everton role.
Big Dunc and Rooney could be a decent pairing.
Looking forward to seeing Big Dunc in a suit and tie once again.
Big Dunc until after the World Cup when Martinez will take over. That’s my guess.
Strange interview with everyone's favourite, Kevin Thomson: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60104756.
Confirms that he was interviewed for the Kilmarnock job and that, again, he dreams of being Sevco manager. Strange comment that "The harsh reality is I'm never going to be the Celtic manager, so the top for me would be the Rangers manager".
I think the harsh reality is you're unlikely to be either, Kev. But it's a slightly curious comment.
I keep expecting Everton to perk up and in truth they had the chances to beat Villa on Saturday despite being the inferior team.
Ranieri sacked by Watford apparently 😳
Looking for their 15th permanent manager since 2012-13, which is only three fewer than West Ham have had in their entire history.
