Free tickets for the Hibs end in the Roseburn Stand are available from the Hearts Tickets Office from 10am until kick off (1.10pm).
Match live BBC Alba 1310 kick off
Apologies if already posted
Ach, even so it was a very good turnout for a women's game.
I would say that these sort of things kind of bump any idea that Edinburgh isn't 'a football town' .... irrespective of tickets being free to be getting 8 to 9 thousand turnouts for the women's derby, not to mention near on 8,000 at ER the other week for an under 19s match, shows more than a decent level of enthusiasm IMO
well respected silence, well done all present as expected tbf
on to the footy, i expect a home win unfortunately
1-0 the good gals :greengrin
I'm watching on Alba and it's 0-0 after 14 minutes :confused: Why is it not live ?
Second goal coming if they keep it up, cracking goal
Fine finish for the goal.
a 2nd while on top would be nice
McAlonie has been excellent for us.
Just keep getting the ball to her and she'll cause them problems.
That Forsyth is an annoying little scrote. Made me think of any number of annoying actores who have turned out in the maroon. Manager is not as good looking as Robbie though.
we've fallen way out of this
Hearts are so poor. Massively over rated.
Should have been 2v0 Hibs from the corner but header missed.
Feels like we have weathered that storm. Had the better of it last few minutes again.
Notley's all over the pitch she could do with a bit of help
Spartans 1 Dundee utd 0
what a terribly soft foul the referee gave against Adams there
ah well 1-1
if only our keeper would jump at that cross
Criminal defending there. Walked past about 4 Hibs players to get a head on that.
Just like their male counterparts lucky as fk 🙄
Keeper and defenders unreal ffs ha
game of two halves
disappointing how we tailed off so much in that 2nd 45
Can’t believe we drew that - Hearts were awful.
Only 5 subs named by Hibs ?
Oh they aren’t doing another penalty shootout ?! Shambles.
What channel is the bigot final on? Can't find it. Scotland getting pumped at the egg chasing so finished with that.
Heart win on pens
6-5
nice wee pass back for that last penalty, what on earth was that
they deserved that, we just simply didn't turn up in the 2nd 45
so
time for the bigot fest now
Rugby on Record
The boy Gibson needs to go back to kid’s football. What does it tell your subs when none get on.Game management terrible not bringing on fresh legs to run the clock down
One of my mates was at the Spartans v Dundee Utd game today and they had a wee bit in their programme about the 'Capital Cup'. Basically saying that they accept Hibs v Hearts will always be the more recognidlsvale rivalry thanks to the history behind it but if said cup included all 3 Edinburgh teams the league table (prior to today's game)would read:
Spartans 7 points +2 goal difference
Hibs 2 points -1 goal difference
Hearts 1 point -1 goal difference
That's really nowhere near good enough from both Hibs and Hearts.
So a few thoughts from today:
- The Capital Cup is a bollocks idea (especially as Spartans aren't a part of it). For me the last two derbies represent 4 points dropped. I didn't care we won the penalty shoot-out last time and means nothing now. I agree with my brother when he says it only serves to make a player feel like ***** for missing, and Shiv looked distraught, for a meaningless corporate cup. The points were what mattered today.
- I think Gibson set the team out right, looked like a we dominated the game and were the far better team, they were left playing balls over the top and trying to get something from a set-piece. However, that's where they scored from. Gibson needs to have a plan for dealing with set-pieces at that point in the game when, as my mate pointed out, they would be landing balls on the keeper. Ultimately, it's up to the coach how a team organises at a set-piece. Even if it was bollocks ref decision for a free kick that led to the corner.
- Haaland is a drop in quality from Gabby English. Intent on always punching, which is fine if she has a punch that clears it from the danger area, but she doesn't.
- Hearts were lucky before the KO. Smally, Thomas, and Parry, being out, was a massive hinderence (not a slight to Leishman she was solid but didn't get forwards as much and we were lop-sided, but she hasn't has much game time this season but worked her socks off), and if we had any of them available I think we would have won.
- Hearts are well-coached, better coached than us, but as described on a View from the Terrace on Friday as being well disciplined and hard to break down is just a nice way of saying boring. For them to make 4 changes, and us none, even with a bare bones squad was very bad game management.
- I know the home team always gets POTM, but it was clearly Katie Lockwood. Looks like a really clever player and we've done well to get her.
The thing is, so do we.
Livingstone and Adams are still really young, even Micky and Eddie etc. aren't that old. Plus we have the experience, and some pretty good signings from elsewhere. Although I don't think we're getting the best out of the latter for the most part, which again is a coaching issue.
There's defo players I'd pinch from them if it was possible, but them planning to got FT next season probs negates that. Which make sit more pressing that the leadership is right next season.
They discussed Pedro Losa on AVFTT on Friday and asked the question why hasn't there been more criticism, and the same applies to Hibs women in my book, and they wondered if people are being too nice in their judgement of expectations.

Thought Hibs keeper Haaland looked really poor.
Not flexible or reflexive enough for a keeper. Unnecessary punching of the ball.
When clearly injured and limping, the coach should have subbed her for the pens.
Generally I thought Hibs ran the midfield for 65 out of the 90 mins.
Good atmosphere and decent crowd. Both sets of fans sitting together in many areas. How it should be.
Watching woman’s football and the vibe generally is bringing something a bit fresh to the game.
Totally agree with the Spartans POV .... can't call it 'the capital cup' without them being included, especially in the context of women's football.
As for the game itself .... It was agreed that Hibs were significantly weakened by injuries and the lack of even a full subs bench bore that out. It has to be said after all the pre match hype over Hearts that our ladies performed extremely well, so much so we dominated the first half and in spite of their continental coaches talk about passing football in the pre match preamble the second half tactic seemed to be lump the ball up in the air into the box no matter where you are on the park ..... The Hibs lassies fought their hearts out and a draw was a great result which could have been better with a bit more quality in the final third. Who cares about the pens, always a lottery.
They should just play the cup over a break weekend. Get all 3 of them into a stadium and play a round robin of 60 min games. Attaching a cup to every Hibs v Hearts game is just daft. But it was clearly part of the sponsorship setup which also allows all the free tickets.
Assume this would be a friendly competition idea as you can’t have league games of 60 mins !!
Hearts were awful 1st half yesterday- Hibs fine but not exactly that fluid. The finish for the goal was the main bit of decent quality but the rest all pretty average.
Watched the Celtic v Rangers game and was impressed how slick Celtic were.
Hibs recruitment and style of play is hard to understand. I used to enjoy watching Hibs women play years ago but now its hard to see what they are trying to do. I don’t think Hearts look well coached but they have a better structure with worse players.
There always seems to be post match excuses from Hibs but at the end of the day the coaching staff and players (the back line especially) need refreshed if they want to progress.
The penalty shoot out is a nonsense and devalues the game.
Also Capital Cup? Where do you draw the line as plenty other Edinburgh teams.
I don’t understand why Hibs didn’t have any young players on bench? Haven’t seen any youth players promoted during the season.
This will give you an indication why.

Can't disagree, but I think some have the talent and could be real assets, but aren't kicking or maybe aren't getting the coaching needed. Nor would fit into that category, her physique and pace should make a real threat but Gibson doesn't use her much and maybe she's not getting the direction she needs from the coaching staff.
Yesterday was mad, 4 outfield players on the bench, all signed or re-signed this season and not one of them used.
That's nuts that they were even included if that is the case. And we have at least another 5 also injured.
Although I have no idea what is up with Thomas as the club hasn't communicated anything regarding her, and they must know the extent of Smally's injury by now but I also haven't heard any more on that one.
He couldn't put any subs on because there weren't any. Terrible run of injuries atm, we only barely had 11 players fit.

Finished 0-0. Not a great game, from what I saw.

The team will scrape into the top 6 as they should beat Hamilton but will lose to Celtic who have found form.
Wonder what the excuses will be following tonight’s 0v0. Injures again or simply poor management. Watched it online and really struggled at times to see what they are trying to do. Will feel like a win for Aberdeen midweek away from home.
Aberdeen picking up their 1st point in the last five games, very poor result against the side sitting 3rd bottom, maybe beat 2nd bottom Hamilton on sunday who have also only picked up one point from their last five games
4th is now gone, they made sure of that by blowing the lead against hearts and then that showing last night, changed days indeed
game against celtic a week on sunday live on Alba, should see lots of goals anyway
results

Much better today but been undone by inconsistency, lost goals we shouldn't have, lost games we shouldn't have.
Still that looks like a good win for City against one of the uglies.

A 2-0 loss to a strong Celtic side at Meadowbank today. A good performance from Hibs though, Celtic just made the most of their chances in the first half.
A horrendous goalkeeping error for one Celtic goal. Hibs keeper Haaland jumped but barely got off the ground, seemed to shrink and the ball went over her head.
Hibs into the top 6 split just ahead of 2 part time teams 2 points ahead of Motherwell and 1 ahead of Partick Thistle. Injuries to some of our better players appear to have hurt us.

Any Hibs women likely to be called up for the forthcoming Scotland international against the Matildas in London?
Leah Eddie would be most likely but Losa's all over the place with squad picks and is not great for any consistency in bringing younger players in and giving them a chance. Michaela McAlonie should, but will probs be overlooked again. If fit, Rachael Boyle might have been in with a shout.
So, short answer, probably not!
Although last squad had about 7 ex-Hibs players featuring.
Set pieces have been our achilles heel this season. Can't just blame the keeper, there was no co-ordination across the team on how to defend the corner, i.e. who was gonna commit to the clearance, they got in each other's way.
On the other hand, Haaland actually had a great game overall, made some class reaction saves with strong hands and read the game well. A better performance from the team than we've had in weeks, if we can play like that AND actually take some chances (don't know why Tweedie never came on...) we might actually have a chance in the Quarter Final against The Rangers on Sunday. If you don't know, the club's running a bus to that one.

Not just blaming her, but if she makes a move to come for it, then she needs to commit to it or stay on the line to begin with. She put herself in a position where she couldn't react.
I agree about set pieces, but that for me comes down to the coaching.
I'd like to know what the story is with Crystal Thomas as I rate her and she offers something the others don't, I assume she's injured but there has been zero comms from the club to that effect, and they've made announcements about other injuries.
