I guess he deserves a bit of credit for financing himself to try and achieve something in football over the next 10 years. It must have been difficult to show promise and get a chance at Leicester only to be discarded into non-league football. We know other teams such as Arsenal used EBTs.
Arsenal, being a big club, paid the taxman when he said "Oi!".
Rangers didn't and then realised why we put quotes round "big club" in their case as the taxman wiped them from existance.
That said, presumably both Arsenal and Rangers gained a sporting advantage by using EBTs and the fact that one paid it back (presumably after the fact) doesn't change that.
It's not the EBT's that get them into trouble, it's the non-disclosure of remuneration to the governing body.Quote:
