Is there any information about post match segregation?

There usually isn't any when we go there for league games, and not seen any bother for a long time.

Last time I was there no segregation post match but much smaller number of Hibs fans.

The Pillar has been there for fifty years, so yeah.

The big difference was that there was no stand or terracing in that corner and our section was nearer the goals, so the view wasn't obstructed

EDIT: Here's that part of the ground before redevelopment

28618

Brings back some memories of what the away end at Celtic Park was like when I first started going. Can remember some big Hibs crowds on that terracing, and restricted view not limited to just a solitary pillar but a floodlight to negotiate as well!

I was never in the old Ibrox prior to the three modern stands, and it did take Celtic quite a while to catch up with their city rivals.

Team need all the support possible.

Just hope we are allowed to win this one.

No way those massive floodlight pylons would get past health and safety these days, although I guess most grounds must have had them bolted on to the terracing. Folk must have climbed them for a better view when there were big crowds in.

We’ll know more later this week (including bus parking arrangements).

Picked mine up today from the TO. I asked about the buses from ER. Was told I should receive an email with details of the bus number, departure time etc and to show the email to the bus appropriate convener. No actual tickets for the bus will be issued just in case anyone was wondering.

Got me thinking, there was no official segregation in the old terracing at Parkhead and I remember maybe 50-75 or so Hibs fans stormed the jungle and scrambled the Celtic fans.

It was around 14.15 right enough and the jungle wasn't that busy at that time but funny all the same.

No idea the year, can't remember if was casuals, skins or scarfies, maybe 84/85/86, maybe somebody else remembers - lol

Referee Nick Walsh
AR1 Frank Connor
AR2 Colin Drummond
VAR Kevin Clancy
AVAR Andrew McWilliam

Don't think Walsh is the worst ref (not saying much) but Clancy as VAR gives me the fear.

Haven’t been back to see Hibs at Parkhead since Feb 88 when we drew 0-0 in the Scottish Cup.Was At loads of games there as a kid including the game not long after we won the League Cup (1-1) .Was there when we were 2 up when the fog descended .Saw loads of humpings the odd win and a few doings into the bargain. This team deserves all the support it gets on Sunday .Can’t wait.PS The game in 1988 was the first ever broadcast live from Parkhead.

If I remember correctly, the sellick fans eventually got themselves together and chased our mob out and we spent the whole game dodging all sorts of items and threats once they spewed out of the jungle and we were only separated by a thin blue line, mental days!

Also, i think the buses got tanned as well.

Wouldn’t be worth taking the financial hit I reckon. We’d have to pay for the remaining 5k tickets up front and wouldn’t shift too many more.

7k is an unreal effort and much more than I thought we’d take.

Mental what 9 points in a week can do eh?!

Yes there’s a financial risk I suppose and we won’t be selling 5k more. Yes 7k unreal and should be a fabulous sight. Those 9 points have certainly really helped what was already a great mood around ER!

I remember it a little bit different.
The Hibs boys just walked back to the terracing behind the goals, kinda laughing about what had just happened.
By the time the game started, Celtc were mobbed up right next to the Hibs fans with just a line of police separating them, missiles being constantly thrown into the Hibs end, scuffles breaking out here and there, was pretty wild.
I've got absolutely no memory at all about the game or result, I'd be about 16/ 17 at the time.
No idea about the buses, I was on the train.

Was at that game bit of trouble behind that goal in second half when Celtic fans moved round as they were attacking that goal second half.

Was there that is a pretty good summary. More Celtic fans at that end and sporadic scuffles as fans tended to walk around behind the goal their team was shooting into especially at a massive stadium like Parkhead. Can’t remember buses getting tanned certainly ours didn’t.

My memory of the ‘ riot’ at Parkhead is the Celtic fans coming round to where we were standing behind the goal a wee laddie with a big cane ( probably his flag ) whacked me across the legs I said to the Polis standing beside me ‘ What about that then Officer ? In true Gestapo style he told me if I did not behave myself I would be lifted The Glasgow Polis were a law unto themselves back then ( still are )

Incredible away support from us 👏🏻.
Always said the demand is there, and with Edinburgh growing the numbers and demand will grow also as the club shows ambition to challenge regularly.

I remember calderwood butcher days when we struggled to get 10,000 at a game. Club is growing and that is always more evident during a good spell.
Tbf the travelling support is nothing short of unbelievable, wish I could get to more away games.

We, part of the Westie Hibbies, are going to St Lukes - near Barrowland - but it's a bit posh and a lot of folk are eating and scarves have to be "hidden". After game probably Babbity Bowsers in Merchant City - can drink outside there in the beer garden (and it has heaters!)

Things must have changed around there compared to the type of pubs you'd find yourself in pre-Barrowlands gigs back in the day. Guessing the Commonwealth Games investment played a part, with the athletes village becoming residential etc.

So as it stands …. Would I be correct in saying , had we not been reluctantly granted the 7k allocation by Celtic , then Celtic would have cost both clubs the face value of 4000 ticket sales?

If so , well done to all at Hibernian FC for having the gumption to challenge these tramps and the belief in our support 👏🏻

If Hibs have already fronted the cost of the 7k allocation and if there’s 100 or so tickets still available could they be distributed through the community foundation/ schools? A bit late in the day but it’s a handful of tickets we can’t give back to Celtic and would put bums on seats.

The further you park away from Celtic Park the better.
It's counterintuative but my logic is there is never any issue getting parked up but when 62,000 folk leave a stadium at once there is gridlock on the surrounding roads and as a result you end up walking faster than the cars moving alongside you.
Bit sare on the loafers but good for the blood pressure whereas the guys in the cars look well pissed off burning through fuel and going nowhere.

The stadium will probably be near enough full on Sunday. Which is unusual. They haven't sold out a scottish cup game at home for years and years

no doubt in my mind that hibs taking 7k has had a massive impact on this. From twitter and videos I’ve seen, most celtic fans are looking forward to this game for that reason. Adds a little extra to it.

I've heard Celtic are struggling to sell all their tickets. Surprised at that with 7k away fans.

They only started general sale yesterday. They currently have 1321 left for sale.

I did wonder if that perfectly oblong chunk in 418 would come back into play. Maybe the club set them aside for some reason which is no longer required

Or maybe Charlie Irons bought a seat in the middle, the club enforced a spit free zone and now he's no longer going

I believe that is the deadline for tickets requiring special delivery.
The deadline for Royal Mail sent tickets was today.
Tickets purchased online but collected from Easter Road will continue into Friday as far as I know but need to be collected from the ticket office before 4pm that day.

Circa 210 tickets left*

*there is a suspicious apparently sold batch of 50 tickets 5 rows of 10 between R21-30 and X21-30 in section 417 which might spring back to life at some point

As predicted most of these 50 tickets have reappeared for sale.
Looks like there are approx 190 tickets for sale now so we have sold about 50 tickets this morning.

I'm still seeing approx 160 over 3 distinct upper sections.
50 in the one nearest the Celtic support in the LLS, 60 in the middle section and 50 in the section nearest Celtics old stand.
the lunch time purchases have started in the last 15 minutes

Are you zoomed in too far and not seeing all the sections?

I count @188, including the 50 new ones.

Scroll out on the stadium plan to see the restricted view ones at the bottom. They should go last.

The fans who bought early (like my brother in Hibs First) are in Section 120 beside the corner flag. Others, like me and the lad, are closer to the goalie at the top of section 115.

They released 40 earlier, they kept one of the 5 rows of ten. Possibly kept just in case needed for players/staff and their family/friends so that row may appear again later if not required.

Only 25 single seats in the Hibs sections.

If supporters could still buy the tickets online they could get anyone they know to pick them up from Easter Road rather than having to go themselves during a schoolday which can be difficult.

I’m not convinced we would have sold the amount we have if we’d just been given it from the off. I think the rallying call from Hibs and the effort they put into getting the tickets has lead to more buying than if we’d just been handed 7k from the off. I'm surprised, but delighted, we have shifted them. The biggest reason for that IMO is one of the best 8 day periods of league results I can remember from a Hibs team in a long time - prob since Latapy and Sauzee days when we beat Rangers 1-0 and Hearts 6-2.

Love these patronising Celtic chumps. They treat Hibs like Trump treats Canada.

Let's hear how cheery and upbeat Brenda is after we dump his side out of the cup

I can't see anything remotely offensive in Rodgers' comment either - it's a bit of a nothing statement, but not anything more than that.

Don’t see Rodgers comments as patronising in any way - complimentary to Hibs, complimentary to the fans, looking forward to a kind of occasion they’ve not had a Celtic Park since before the Old Firm away allocation wars and accepts that lessons were learned and taken on board from the previous encounter between the two clubs.

Completely agree, and that’s coming from me who thinks Rodgers is a complete helmet (and a really good manager)

I do sense from watching his press that he’s going to have them right up for this game. They’re going to approach this as a ‘big’ game. Agree with what he says that our presence will likely turn up the volume in their end as well. We’re really going to need to come out and start well tomorrow. And by that, I just mean stopping them as much as anything.

The gate receipts will likely be around the £1m mark. There’ll be expenses etc to be deducted from it before Hibs get their share, so I’d imagine 3-400k from tickets? Then whatever there is for being on the tv.

Really really hope we don't concede an early goal tomorrow and if we do go in front please pay attention and not let the ****ers back in within 5 minutes of scoring. You noticed a difference in the crowd against Hearts where the place was bouncing for 2 minutes then shellshock.

Largest away crowd inside Celtic Park since April 2018.

When the draw was made there was a little sense of deflation and many thought it would be a game that would just replicate the feel of a standard away league game at Celtic.

It now has the feel of a real big cup tie and occasion, and one the fans have bought into. A part of that will be a celebration and acknowledgment of the magnificent turnaround in our fortunes and the upward trajectory by a manager universally adored by the support.

I’m sure the more pragmatic thinking supporters might sense the run maybe coming to an end tomorrow, but there will still be an underlying belief that we could win this tie.

Just imagine that away end if we did..?

Celtic will treat this as a massive game, the league is won and they are out of Europe.

If they turn up in full flow then I just can't see us having enough to get the better of them. I just hope we can put up a good performance and don't get too dispirited if we get a bit of a dooing.

Bayern Munich is the only team to win there this season and they've only conceded 3 goals at home domestically all season. It's going to be a tall order but to be fair we should have scored a couple last time we were there. Just need to hope they have an off day and VAR is still our friend

4 goals domestically.

3 to Aberdeen in the league and 1 to us in the league cup.

Easy peasy.

Domestically Falkirk (twice) and Killie have also scored at Parkhead this season in the cups.

Still be a tall order to beat them but they have conceded 5 goals in the last 3 games.

Great effort from the fans to sell out the 7k And will be a great spectacle of the real green and white in the crowd.

We're going into games now knowing the players will fight for every ball for 90 minutes, my only fear is the fact Celtic will be looking for goals and to get revenge from the league game, I think they'll come out flying from the off, keep it tight early on and if we can take our chances then who knows.

Really buzzing for this game tomorrow.

Celtic fans these days remind me of the Huns from the David Murray cheating days. They are so entitled. The way they talk about how fantastic they are. We only beat them because they were cheated etc etc etc…

We can beat them tomorrow, but only if we are at the top of our game and everyone is together, playing for each other. Sound like a team anyone has been watching recently?

We can beat them, let’s do this! GGTTH

If any team is going to topple them at Parkhead, it's ours. There's no team better placed to beat them looking at the form we're in. If we beat them, we go on to win the cup. If they beat us, they go on to win the cup.

I wouldn't go as far to say we win we win the cup. We would then have to beat Hearts and/or Aberdeen, which on current form we'd be favourites to do, but its by no means a certainty.

This is pretty much where I am too.

Usually would go there fearing the worst but there's something different with this current team.

Not had as much faith and belief in a Hibs side for a long time and still can't quite get my head round the turnaround this season, so just enjoying it 😁

Sorry maybe answered before but going to take my 6 year old to his first Hibs away game at Celtic Park - what’s the best street to park in close by? Not bothered about going early just want somewhere within decent walking distance. Happy enough to pay the surcharge to ‘look after your motor mister!’

They all just merge in to one if you come off the M74 on to London Road. And they all look exactly the same. Closer you go to the ground, the longer you’re sitting after. It’ll be busy so I’d say it’s pretty difficult to aim for a particular street. You can see the ground as soon as you’re off the motorway so it’s just a case of seeing where you can get a space really.

Hibees1973

This game is all about how we defend. They will probably have over 75% possession.

Can't see us scoring any more than two goals, so can we restrict them to two or less in Glasgow. Even to take this to penalties.

Highly unlikely we win this one, but we are as well placed as anyone in Scotland to win there just now.

Would love to see a robust, disciplined and organised Hibs team there and one which doesn't give away any silly goals.

Cool will just take my chances then. Was going to just get the train to Glasgow Queen Street then a taxi to Parkhead but doubt there will be too many taxis on the way back and no way will my little one walk as all the way back

They haven’t had a mid week European away game and will play best team from the start with high tempo and look to score first Hiw we handle that will determine if we are still in the game after 30 minutes
We need to be clinical on the break and defend with our lives

Am going to back the team and sing my heart out no matter what
If our unbeaten run comes to an end then how we bounce back in next game will be crucial

See most Sellick fans seem to think we deserve a right doing from the last game.. They are confident they will steam roller us with ease the morn.

Come on Hibs, no fear right into them from the start and we have a chance. If anyone is going to get a result the now against them it is us.

Yep and they will be stronger than our last game. Need to hope they are off it and we are on. They have so many goals in their team however think they look anything but good at the back. We definitely have a chance as Killie showed in the cup earlier this season. Looking for a passionate and quality performance from the boys.
