Is it just a coincidence our change in fortunes comes after the change in keeper

And Rocky at the back has been brilliant.

You can't seriously believe that the improved team performances are down to a keeper change surely?

I do wonder if there’s been stuff happening behind the scenes with the BK’s getting more involved. There’s quite a different fee to things compared to the start of the season.

He's here!

It's clearly helped tho? Smith might not be the world's best keeper but he inspires more confidence than Bursic. A keeper who doesn't make his team-mates nervous is a significant asset.

Terrific result by the way. Great to go into Christmas on the back of two wins - and six goals!

Best performance of the season.

I've been highly critical of Gray and the players this season, but he got the team and tactics spot on today and the players, to a man, worked their collective arse off.

That's the standard reached and that should be aspired to each week.

Just in the car and enjoying the trip home for a change.

The Manager and players have taken plenty stick this season, but tonight they are getting well deserved praise.

Very adventurous of Gray to play both Youan and Boyle from the start at a tough venue. It paid off massively.

A comfortable win.

I could probably lay claim to some “told you so” when it comes to David Gray but that’s more than offset by the humble pie needing munched re Martin Boyle.

I thought Boyle was finished and simply didn’t have that level of performance in him any more. Couldn’t have been more wrong - that was genuinely outstanding, at a difficult venue, and integral in helping us secure the biggest result of our season so far.

Well done Martin. And thank you.

I was keeping quiet as I have a habit of jinxing things but I had an odd feeling we were going to win and put four past them today. Wheels are falling off for Aberdeen and we’re gaining traction. Winning last week with a poor performance is a good sign that on form we can make any team work.

Done to Aberdeen what they used to do to us under McInnes in the second half. Taking it in turns going down to slow and disrupt the game. A great win, great first half performance. Done enough second half to get the points. Massive game next. Win that and we can start looking upwards rather than behind us

To be fair at Parkhead we had an expected goals of 3 too - the most chances Celtic had conceded at Parkhead in a long time

The change in shape is reaping rewards

Fair play to SDG and the players for the upturn - win on Boxing Day and the upward curve is really in full swing :)

Fantastic performance and you can see the team spirit at the end. The players are fighting for each other and the manager; you can’t ask for more than that.
And btw Michael Stewart and the sportsound mob were very complimentary; three fantastic goals in tricky conditions and fine solid defence.

Superb game management in the 2nd half, doing what other teams usually do to us, going down easy, niggly fouls, wasting time, substitutions, breaking up play and generally spoiling the game. Brilliant stuff.

That has helped but for me it is the back three and stopping goals coming down our left with Iredale and Cadden both very good on that side. We have also now got lots of players in the middle and have started to defend with more conviction. Rocky also has had a big part to play in our recovery imo. If he was guaranteed to play every game I would seriously consider making him captain

Thought Rocky was very good today. No farting about and cleared his lines every time today. No risks taken and great to see.

Our three goals today had a bit of everything from really good play to us just being really clinical in punishing them . I thought the same as you in its harsh to blame Rocky for the goal when you see it again. Overall Rocky was excellent again. Sheep booing rather than bleating.

No but if having confidence in the person behind them allows the defence to concentrate on their own game and avoid making mistakes themselves

Rest assured, Hearts fans are crapping themselves over the Derby. Bottom of the league yet still favourites .... against a Hibs side with no leaders, a rookie manager, no strikers, back-up goalie and one established central defender. What could possibly go wrong :greengrin

I could never take to Nisbet here, and it doesn’t surprise me that his career appears to be stalling again. For all the chat about him maturing in the lower leagues before signing for us, he comes across as someone in danger of throwing his current opportunities away again.

It’s very easy to appear humble when you’ve had to drop down to the lower leagues to save your career, it’s less easy to keep your head when things are going well and people are talking about you again.

I’m really delighted to have been very wrong about Jordan Smith. Going by reviews from his previous club I expected him to be awful and his debut backed that up.

Since that he’s shown to be a decent keeper and although we need to get a new goalie in January and get Bursik back at his parent club, I’m happy for him to be here offering competition for the gloves.

Same! I went in hard after his debut. Wanted Bursik back in and said if Smith keeps playing then Gray is just doing himself out of a job.

It was a shaky debut. Simple as that. He's been decent and good following on from that, chuffed for him.

it shows what an impossible task splitting the Old Firm is.

Rangers were dreadful for the first quarter of the season and Aberdeen won 10 out of 11 to begin with (I think?). Within 6 games Rangers have already overtaken them.

Nobody will ever split the Old Firm again unless there’s another financial issue for one of them imo.

Yep, it's been proved time and again that a team might go through a good wee spell, but nobody outside of the OF have the squad capable of maintaining a decent run throughout the season.

As for Hibs. Brilliant result at Pittodrie. Hopefully the Saints can get something from Tynie and we can heap on the Jambos misery on Boxing Day.

They did say over the tannoy that’s what it was. It then went on for ages though, it was ages before they even got it going by the time the folk with the flags and the piper walked on to the pitch.

If you’d just walked in you’d have just thought it was a random guy playing the pipes. You wouldn’t have had any idea it was anything else.

Who or what was the subject of the memorial?

Okay, found it. AFC want to create an annual memorial, at the last home game of the year, in memory of all former club employees and supporters that have been lost during the year. It would be nice but a rather big ask, of the away supporters that day were to respect it.

I don’t think it’s that big an ask to respect it. But it wasn’t exactly clear what was going on for anyone that didn’t hear the announcement. I got in to the ground at 2:40 and there was more folk outside than inside because of the ridiculous checks and searches they had in place.

Agreed. Not too much to ask but we have experience, at ER, of how it can be a big ask in some circumstances. Hence the “big ask” comment, no disrespect intended.
