Keeper has cost us what would have been a well earned 3 points here.

Both keepers will cost us constantly until January. I've no idea what the answer is but it's evident that neither of those two is. Whoever identified them and signed them needs the bullet.

Unseen work
26-11-2024, 08:46 PM
Right.

Joe bursik is the second worst Hibs goalie

Jordan smith is the worst

Holy Jesus he is shocking

That's one of the most unbelievable games I've ever seen.

If we had a half decent goalie, instead of two that are totally crap, we clearly wouldn't be in this position

1 point not enough unfortunately

I’ll take it. Maybe twice a goal down in injury time and we still draw. That’s not the Hibs team I’ve watched this season.

1 point but also a confidence boosts and finally passed a test of character.

This is the best we've played all season. He's not the only one responsible for signing players. I'm not defending him as he's just as responsible with his team selection and set up but far too many of these players are miles off the quality needed. We've got two keepers who are most likely worse than every other 1st team and possibly backup keeper in the league. That shouldn't never happen at a club like Hibs. If he goes then there should be a good few over and above his coaching staff that go also.

Absolute madness.

For once we get the late goal and feels more than a draw.

Annoying as Aberdeen weren’t great and if we had a keeper we win.

But massive credit to Cadden for his screamer and Rocky - just love his passion for coming up with big moments.

Final goal was Rocky to Youan to Gayle to Rocky..love it.

Gray has to go. Really hope this doesn't get peddled into a Duffy style stay of execution. Another game without a win. Happy not to get beat but what is it now a 6% win rate.

As for anyone involved in scouting and signing off on these goalies.

100% he should've. Was straight at him. Basically punched it over himself. Mitov saves that. Mitov probably doesn't come out for a ball and miss it today either. Sure we all wanted Mitov at some point but Hibs being Hibs weren't even in contention. Was identified by most im the league as an ideal signing but our 1st class scouting and recruitment department wouldn't even entertain such an obvious signing.

I don’t get this….we were 2-1 down with 10 mins to play and didn’t look like scoring. Campbell up front with Gayle unable to move beside him

Where was the fight there? Nicky Cadden (who was the one showing something) saved Gray from the inevitable sack. A hit and hope at the end is not showing fight…it’s desperation

100% This is when we usually lose goals. I’ve not bothered to read 1% of this thread - there’s enough mental health problems in this World already. The only negatives I would stress:

Id start the same team minus GK. It’s feels scattergun but I’d like it to Boruc. It will be Bursik though. Certainly can’t be Smith.

The day we can’t be happy about coming back, twice, in the last 5 minutes of the game is the day we should give it up.

It's the same sort of mentality that rips into Youan for doing keepy uppys

I’d be seriously tempted to try Boruc next game but that will come across as desperate/mental and will pounced on by the media, so won’t happen.

He can’t be worse than these 2 though.

Pass a test of character? We showed a bit battle aye but that was the best performance in yonks and still failed to come up with a win.

Test of character is doing this on Saturday and turning up more often than not

Against the team sitting second 23 points above us in the league.

This was definately a point gained.

Now need to win at Motherwell on Saturday.

No idea what to think of that bar it was much more direct and played with a much better tempo. The keeper is awful and the ref was abysmal but you have to give Hibs credit for their fight and persistence.

I still think Gray got his subs wrong but I’ll take a draw as we definitely deserved it. 👏

He’s got Saturday then if what the Scotsman had said today is true about him getting Dundee, Aberdeen and Motherwell to show improvement. No wins any of the three would surely be the end.

See all the people slating the team here.. If we were 3rd and played like that against 12th yet still drew, would you say it was still as embarrassing?

FWIW I don't want Gray to stay in the job however this season has been crap and regardless of position and overall performance we've scored two goals in 5 minutes to get something from losing positions at the death.

A boost ? A draw at home when we’re bottom of the league. Aye ok

Absolutely nothing is rosy in the Hibs garden right now. But you could argue that a draw at home against second top when we're bottom of the league is step forward.

I don't think it will be enough to save Gray. One point doesn't change our situation but, for once, the heads didn't go down and that might inject something remotely positive into the team.

Some much needed fighting spirit shown tonight from the players who can't be argued played for the manager tonight. Aberdeen were absolutely honking 1st half however and were there for the taking. Rockys goal papers over the cracks for another week for me personally. Keeper and defence honking again and strikers who can't score. I'd be tempted to start Youan and Gayle up top Saturday.

2nd half, we were poor and Grays subs made us worse. Aberdeen gaffer turned the game to them

If Gray has been given 3 games to save his job he still needs to WIN for the 7th time in a row and he hasn’t won any.

Nice to enjoy a game for a change. We did more well than we did badly and quite a few good performers. Miller was good tonight especially after the ridiculous booking, Cadden when on the ball excellent but not sure he can tie down a side against pace, Elie in spells was excellent but he really needed to help out that left side a bit more later on and my MOTM was Rocky. So happy he got the goal at the end as he looks a player that would run through walls for his manager. The Keeper actually made three decent saves but was shocking for the second and I think he could have done much better with the third. We really need to get someone up front who is going to either run the channels, hold it up, get across a defender or score and Myko is none of those things and I don't think Gayle is either.

Football can change quickly and I hoppe the players come into training with a smile on their face and take that into Saturday's game. We might not be great but we are better than where we find ourselves and a run of the mill keeper may be enough to save us.

I'm amazed at the level of negativity one here tonight. sure there were issues - Smith being the main one but for the first time in ages we fought, played attacking football, had numerous chances (hitting the bar and the post) and had hoillet laid off the ball at the start of the second half to madden we should have been 2 up and deservedly so.

the position we're in is ****, but folk pre match saying the team can't play attractive attacking football and players being slated for not caring / needing to do their talking on the pitch...well in my opinion they did this tonight. Newell was good, as was Rocky and miller put in a great shift along with Cadden. I'd agree about bringing Campbell on - baffles me as to why he is getting any game time and he didn't contribute anything.

though there was room for improvement, Ellie looked a real threat tonight and really up for it which made a huge difference to the threat we carried.

I'm not saying everything is suddenly fine, far from it, there is much work to be done and we don't know if the positivity from the comeback will transfer into confidence against Motherwell, but it'd be great if fans could at least recognise what we did well today against the team second in the league.

if we apply ourselves like we did tonight we will definitely start winning games, we just might need to score 3 to do so!

Agree Campbell hasn’t being playing well though think he took a sore one winning the flick on to Rocky for his goal , Cadden’s goal gets better every time I see it . Goal of the month contender surely? ….

Firstly, a draw isn't enough, we need to be winning.

But the biggest thing all night was that when we went behind twice we didn't let the heads drop and kept chasing the game and fighting for the ball. That is an improvement and if we can replicate the spirit and fight we showed for most of that game we might just actually pick up some points ..... IF.

Yes we remain in a miserable situation, but for the first time in weeks we saw something from Hibs that looked like a performance and it made for an entertaining game. I for one am going to, just for a few days, make the most of the fact that for once Hibs weren't utterly pish and the game was a decent watch.

I promise to be F'ing miserable again by Friday :aok:

With the crazy final few minutes of that game, I’ll take the point. It’s a point more than I expected and it gives us a wee something to build on.

That needs addressed as soon as possible.

A TWO YEAR DEAL FOR SMITH!!! genuinely that sums up exactly how Gray has been thrown under the bus with this recruitment.

Gray is part of this recruitment. If anything it sums up Gray's lack of experience in not having the wherewithal to say no when they were put forward

You would think so but I find it incredibly hard to believe that DG looked at these guys and thought they would be an upgrade on what was there before. Smith looks like a public park goalie, I doubt he would get a game in the Lowland League.

Dabrowski is no world beater but he in comparison to Wolacott and the clowns who are currently passing themselves off as our keepers he is a shining light. But as has been mentioned earlier in the 50 plus years I have been watching Hibs we've never brought a keeper through the ranks which is frankly a disgrace.

He's here!

I said at the end to my mate “that was quite something, but it’s not enough”. In many respects a draw was the worst possible result for us, regardless of bright spots.

A draw is surely better than losing again? Sure, it has a bit of a feel of the Duffy/Sauzee seasons when we pulled out a couple of rollercoaster results but at least it sounds as if there was evidence of passion and determination. A point's more than I expected against a team so far above us in the table.

Wolacott was world class compared to these two clowns

Nice and easy to spot the jambos tonight.

Nice and easy to spot the club mouthpieces too, as always.

All other things being equal, yes a point is better than none. However if last night proves to be a flash in the pan rather than a corner being slowly turned it may prove to be more costly to us than a defeat. It buys him more time, the question is will that turn out to be more time in which he turns things around or more time lost to defeats and a delay in getting fresh blood in to arrest the decline? No-one can say, only the results will tell us.

The problem is we need to start winning because since St Mirren - when many/most thought it was over and the Board issued their ‘statement’ - we’ve only taken 1 point from 6. Every game is a tough game now and every game without 3 points is one more not available to us to climb off the bottom of the table. So how long do we wait for the turnaround to happen? I’d like nothing more than for Gray to do it but I fear the consequences if he doesn’t do it immediately. Draws aren’t enough.

Doyle Hayes and Boyle involved in altercations with fans in the west early doors.

Figured this would get lost while the match was on, do we know exactly what happened?

Fisrts chance to post since last night. But my thoughts are. Played well, stupid mistakes from keeper and same errors allowing wingers behind our full backs and non tracking if runners. Thought Iredale did well mostly, Rocky was immense, Cadden was MOM, Elie played well, Hoillet was in and out if the game. Miller had a good game even when on a booking. Newell was ok, nothing more than that and I'd still liked to have seen Levitt get a chance. Myko was poor and looks very slow and not mobile at all. Keeper looks worse than Bursic which is incredible. If Aberdeen were being talked about as challengers to celtic and the hun then we should be up there with them. Matched them all over the park and their no33 is ****ing awful, our CHs get stick all season but he was so poor I wanted Elie to run at him every time he had the ball. 🐑 ares till a flock of diving, cheating pricks and the ref was terrible, but mostly terrible in their favour.
Sadly I missed the equaliser as I was so enraged at Aberdeenshire 3rd I left, only the second time I can remember ever leaving a game before the final whistle.
White shorts need to stay and sadly SDG still needs to go. Substitutions were dire. Hoillet for Campbell being a particular low point.
Anyway, hopefully that will be a turning point

Campbell got an important flick on for our 3rd goal but I agree it was not a great sub. Campbell looked even slower and more cumbersome last night and he is maybe a player that loses sharpness quickly. He certainly looks nowhere near the level we need but he does have a habit of getting involved in important moments in games. Likewise Gayle looked poor in his short cameo but got an assist. At this point in the season we need contributions that actually count. Elie played really well last night but nothing he did actually made any odds to the result. The opposite was true last year where his end product was really good. Hopefully, he can start to bridge the gap and make the good play actually affect the score line like his small part in the goal at Dundee.

Youan put the cross in for Gayle for the third. Whilst it’s not a direct assist, it was every bit as important as Gayles knock down. He picked him out perfectly.

Was actually a good goal. Decent ball from Youan and Gayle knew what he was doing with the header, knew he was never getting enough power to score so just got it in to a good area.

I can’t believe I’m going to type this bit, but Rocky might just have produced the best bit of centre forward play we’ve seen this season. Held the ball up and laid it off in the first place, spun and got in to where he needed to be. It was like a proper strikers bit of play!

As long as it feels like a victory then we are alright - kidding ourselves if there was only one team looking like getting a result tonight. A bit of class from Cadden and a Hail Mary got us a POINT

I’ll tell my Mrs that she should just feel like it’s George Clooney tonight haha

Totally agree. It just looked pure instinct. The understanding between Gayle and Rocky was so good it looked a product of the training ground.

We could be sitting on a partnership like Shearer and Sutton at Blackburn and not even realise!!!!

I watched the extended highlights before work today and from the chances we should have come away with the 3 points, 1st goal defence will be very disappointed 2nd goal another GK moment 3rd goal was a decent strike, yeah it was straight at smith, looked like it had a good bit of power on it.

Cracking strike from Cadden with the free kick, and happy for Rocky who played well from some on here, Youan looked lively aswell which is pleasing to see.

No 3 points unfortunately, gives us a slimmer hope that the team can perform well going forward, let's see what Saturday brings.
