You're right. If there's one thing this team doesn't lack, it's effort. Which is why I don't get some of the "lazy" or "couldn't care less" comments from some fans. The players are clearly trying to make something happen, but the tactics and style of play are ultimately ineffective against teams that know they can simply sit in and counter on the break once we over commit.

There seems to be a priority of holding onto the ball as much as possible. But this isn't always the best approach to winning football games. Sometimes you have to allow the opposition on the ball while being the team to sit back and soak up some of the pressure in order to catch them out on the break instead.

Sustained pressure doesn't necessarily result in better chances and goals, not when up against an organized defence capable of sitting in. Sometimes you've got to give the opposition team a reason to commit themselves in order for their defence to be opened up.

All week this game has been billed as must, must, must win. Yet as you say there was only really an intensity until the final 5 minutes of injury time. We were defending a corner at 2-0 down on 82 minutes with all Hibs players defending our goal, ****** joke, why not leave at least one forward up front and show some attacking intent.

The Riley Harbottle half time sub would be hilarious if not for the fact it just illustrates how farcical our club has become. A total joke from top to bottom.

The second half after the raft of changes did see us play a bit better so managed to stick it out for the injury time chaos.

Ended up disappointed not to escape with a point, but ultimately would have felt embarrassed to do so after such a performance.

I get what you mean in a kind of "put us out our misery" sort of way but I also thought we really need to try and get a point at least as it may be valuable at the end of the season when we're trying to avoid relegation. How bad is that?

Forgot to post this when I seen it on Saturday night.

The guy who took the ball and made a runner in the east apparently was stopped by police who took the match ball and his season ticket.
