Can hardly run anymore.
3 weeks to sign at least x2 new central midfielders with x1 must be a CDM.

We are absolutely criminal. The softest team in the league. We genuinely need 2 centre mid, a number 10 and a centre back cause ekpiteta is absolutely rank rotten

"Man spotted laughing at football match" shocker.
Pretty pathetic from a few posters tbh.
The Calvinists in our support!
Man spotted laughing at work shock! Work should be serious with no room for humour or enjoyment.

I've a feeling we'll be needing a goalkeeper too.

Well done, a really good piece of work. Keep it going!
Thank you, there will be one a week at least.

I laughed when O'Hora nearly scored the amazing own goal, does that make me a bad person?

I would love a new keeper.
A CDM usually makes a back line play better.
A dodgy keeper makes the back line play worse.
A back 4 that don’t do the basics of tackling and defending will concede goals.
We will continue to concede lots of goals like we are seeing unless the lat 2 games players are changed.

Need to start defending as an entire team. Forwards massively responsible for us conceding goals. So are midfield.

Fair point - you see it with Simon Murray - never gives the back line a moment to relax - our front to middle press is poor but mainly due to the midfield being so far off it and can’t tackle.

Na, our forwards are garbage. When was the last time we nicked it high up the park from the opposition playing out?
A good press requires coaching. Not just running about solo. Timing is key. Forwards and midfield are as bad as eachother.

Big marv is absolutely howling.
How have we signed a worse CH than Bushiri? He's the type of player that will look great if he just needs to head it and hoof it, but as soon as there's space in behind him, he's very shaky. I'd imagine when he won his POTY in the Championship, he was playing in a very defensive side, playing deep and he just dominated in the air.

Willing to give him a wee bit time , But i just feel uncomfortable when he's on the ball , Likes to hoof the ball everytime but then midfield need to help him out
I did say when we signed him he was very average on the ball, and has a ricket in him from time to time.
What he normally gives is a solid performance and is strong, good in the air and clears his line well.
Then he signed for Hibs, and he's looked very shaky and very uncomfortable. I've seen him play very well and my mates who go to Blackpool games more than i ever would, give a 7/8 out of 10 most weeks for his performances.
Maybe he needs a little more time to settle in, but he does need to up his game. :agree:

Or maybe the EFL lower leagues have more tattie howkers for players than they like to admit.

Its hard to say anything positive just now. We were totally outclassed by a team so much better than us it's frightening, we were lucky it wasn't 0 - 5 and the thought of playing them away next weekend is scary .... anybody who follows us to that fixture deserves to call themselves an 'uber fan'
The only pass marks go to Bowie for his tenacity in creating a chance out of nothing. Molotnikov for looking like he belonged at that standard of football more than his more experienced midfield colleagues and Miller, who even though he made a few mistakes, especially thinking he was Messi at the edge of his own box, actually looked like he wanted to drive us forward in the 2nd half.
We have owners who have surely been around the club long enough to know how costly a poor team finishing in the bottom 6 is financially. We are partly owned by a group literally worth billions of pounds. If they can't see the value in bringing in the ( minimum ) two quality midfield players the last two games have shown we so badly need then they are f'ing idiots and you have to ask why the hell they are involved in football at all. Spend a million quid now, or lose two million later ... it's not sodding rocket science.
We are goosed in the League Cup barring a miracle. But reaching the Scottish cup semis and final is worth at least a million quid and one game against Aston Villa last year probably made us half a million quid. With a bottom 6 finish none of that is on the cards. Fix this now or regret it later.

I had zero expectations on yesterday's game but I felt like we needed a league cup final type performance - gritty etc
We either needed to sit in and be compact and frustrate or be right in their faces giving them no time on the ball...if they popped it round us, fair enough - its well played them
We managed to do neither
We weren't deep and compact and we hardly ever put them under pressure on the ball - particularly their key players of MacGregor, Hatate or O'Reilly
Celtic can make you look daft for sure but for goodness sake, do something - we couldnt even get close enough to smash someone
I don't know how Gray wanted us to play but we were between pressing and sitting in and Celtic just destroyed us first half
Always expected to lose buy the level of performance was miles off it

Biggest concern for me yesterday was that we just looked totally lacking in any clear plan. We were all over the place and lucky not to get a real beating. Players didn’t do the basics but we didn’t look like a well set up, well organised team.

The two goals we lost probably should have been dealt with better , I didn’t think our keeper was at fault in anyway. First one our defenders should have reacted quicker .
The 2nd one while it was a cracking finish unfortunately by McGregor I don’t think he should have got the time or space on it , someone has to be closing him down.
On McGregor , imo he got to much time and space the whole game I felt , think under Monty wasn’t it Vente that done a good job restricting him in a game ?.
It’s hard to judge these games as they are on another level and unfortunately we have another one which is even harder coming up now..

I'm glad someone else noticed this.
It wasn't a low compact block but it wasn't a high press.
I actually think we were so spread out we ended up wasting lots of energy running about.
The only main positive was it was 2-0 and not about 5-0.
The cup game will be interesting - they can't afford to lose another early goal or it could be serious trouble.
As someone else posted we need to sign someone ASAP to come into middle of the pitch - if we line up with same or similar midfield this weekend we deserve to get smashed.

Fair point - you see it with Simon Murray - never gives the back line a moment to relax - our front to middle press is poor but mainly due to the midfield being so far off it and can’t tackle. I watched the Dundee game against Hearts. Murray was more intense in his chasing in injury time at the end of the match, with his team 3-1 up, and not in any danger of losing, than I have seen any of our forwards since, err Simon Murray.
Much of our problem comes from two full backs pushing on and not having a DM to cover but our forward players jogging around half heartedly allowing the opposition to almost walk the ball into our final third is a big issue too. Boyle never had a clue what to do on Sunday as he was caught between the left back and centre half playing it simple. He never made much of an effort to intervene but quite a few times they would have just made a fool of him. If Murray or similar were there he would have got across and stopped the overload. We simply don't have a press and against good teams that mean we miss the opportunity to steal the ball and get a cheap attack and far too often allow the ball into our box without a Hibs player getting within 5 yards of a player. Looking at Sunday and last week we look knackered after 60 minutes without pressing so maybe we don't have the legs or heart to do it.

A decent midfielder or better still two would make a world of difference to this squad. We are overloaded for sure but we need to be brutal in our dealings and tell the players with no future that they won’t get game time. Tell them to get new clubs with or without our help or have them training alone. We really need to move on and accelerate that process asap whether that be loans or better still permanent deals. If they spit the dummy let them sit in the house. I’m thinking Jair here. They are of no use to the club and the quicker both parties get on with it the better. Obviously dependant on bringing in a couple of decent replacements. No need to pay up contracts. Get the ball in their court.

Bowie will be the player like Murray that chases everything and doesn't give defenders peace. He demnostrated that a few times in the time he was on yesterday.

Think that is the only approach that will have the least impact to the first team.
