Why do people keep saying Joma can't get things right. HIBS decide on it.
What do Hibs decide on?
If Hibs get given options and these are the best they’ve been given then I’d suggest that still means Joma aren’t getting it right.

Both home and away kits look really devoid of creativity.
Both kits look pretty cheap, the away one especially.
Doesn't seem to have been much time or effort in either of them.
Poor.
Completely agree with this. Hopefully the third will be better.
Our first strip was all white with green flashes on shirts and green socks. My only concern for the 150th Commemorative kit is how they will incorporate the brown leather belt 🫣

FWIW I like both but the away top is nicer.

They are the cheapest, poorest quality brand in football.

:greengrin:greengrin. Is this actually serious? You think people will stop buying the shirts? I guarantee this one will be a huge seller and wait till you see the 3rd strip. Last seasons 3rd strip was also a massive seller.
Why do you get your knickers in such a twist over people not liking Joma or the strip(s)? :hilarious its just my opinon.
Yes some people will stop buying them. Of course given how basic they are and the similarity of the the home to last seasons. There is no chance we will sell more strips this year than last judging by peoples comments across various social media platforms.

Maybe this is exactly what they wanted. Plenty think it’s a damn smart away top. Clearly there are a few who are just never happy about anything. But these shirts are exactly what Hibs ask for.

Not sure who kits are aimed at, my kids love the away kit. I think it's one of the better away kits and I have been impressed with a few recently. Haven't seen much negativity towards the away kit so like you I don't think Hibs have got this wrong.

At £60 a pop for a replica shirt, I wouldn’t say it’s cheap.
Whether it’s adidas, Nike, Umbro or Joma, a replica football shirt is an overpriced polyester T-shirt with some badges on.
They all look much the same to me, and I like both the new kits, particularly the all white away.

When you see a close up you do see the resemblance to a luxury toilet paper design.
Thankfully the green contrast works fine with it. Certainly wouldn’t work quite the same had it been set off against maroon.

Hibs provide the supplier with outline designs. The supplier comes up with prototypes and the club decide what to go with - with any alterations. Peter Burt who left to join Spurs was heavily involved when he was here. Not sure who works in that area now but will be a similar process. Hibs drive things and work collaboratively with the manufacturer. Its certainly not all driven by Joma.

What are you basing this on?
I take it by cheap you arent meaning price? Poor quality? I've not noticed any different int he ones I've bought for my boys vs any of the nike or addidas ones they have.
Joma is made in Spain, so at least you know there's no low paid workers being taken advantage of.
It's a smaller company than Nike or Addidas, but there are by no means small https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joma

Joma kits are manufactured in Spain, Mexico, China. Adidas are manufactured in China and Pakistan. I’ve no idea what is poor quality of the current kits. Unless you are actually playing football in them every week(which I doubt), they last for years.

I was referring to the two kits from this year. Wasn’t very clear tbf.
The all green is nice enough, a bit meh, but a pure white Hibs kits is always nice and it looks as though the top and shorts will be interchangeable which I like. 4 kits for the price of two!
Last seasons off white kit is my favourite of all time I think.

This is the worst pair of kits we have had in over 30 years. Home - too similar to last year. Away, looks so cheap when you see it in the flesh… it is clearly a hibs thing - Joma have managed to make simple but nice kits for Raith Rovers this year… Yet further evidence that we should be with Adidas - even the team wear stuff they give Aberdeen is lovely.

Slightly OTT. I'm in my late 50's now and haven't bought any Hibs kit for years. But I still have a wish to buy a Hibs top even just to satisfy the urge to buy Hibs tops when I was younger.
Sadly the Joma tops of the last few years have come up way short of a classic top and this bevvy thing at the front is just well, let's not go into that again.
If Hibs brought out an Adidas Kit, without this sponsor similar to those of the late 80's early 90s' then it would be a way different matter.
Again, just my oplnion.

Nonsense. As others have said, there have been shockers in the last 10-15 years alone. That 2012 “down the slope” effort, the dark green monstrosity from 14/15. A few others. And another hark back to Adidas. Brand snobbery all over this thread. I like Adidas, but they aren’t what they once were.

No idea how or when these decisions are made for Hibs but often see other teams give fans a choice. Wonder if Hibs could try this, it would potentially stop a lot of the issues with the design once they are released.

Judging by the reactions on this thread, involving the fans wouldn't solve anything and could make it worse when the complaints start from those who preferred a different design to that chosen.

Some folk are definitely entrenched in brand loyalty, and what is maybe deemed to be a cooler brand than others.
I tend to deem all sportswear as just a collective brand - but as a non gym goer or recreational footballer the intricacies of sportswear fashion isn’t something I’m fully engaged with admittedly.
I think the two kits look good, and the players running out in both will look good as will the fans sporting the new kits in the stands.

Just why, the hoops were never our first kit and like it or not and rightly or wrongly they’re associated with Celtic more than anyone else
Can imagine they’ll appeal to the small band of IRA loving tricolour waving mini Celtic bams we’ve got now though, so maybe that’s who they’ve been marketed at
In saying that, I’m sure both the Huns and Celtic tramps will spontaneously combust when they see these tops, so might be worth it for the complete meltdown of seeing them attempt to wrap their thick, knuckle-dragging, Weegie deed-brains round the concept.

I never get the idea that us wearing hoops would cause some massive seethe. Would anyone really care all that much?
You'd get fans of most clubs making jokes about 'mini Celtic confirmed' because they'll have no clue Hibs ever wore hoops and, like it or not, green and white hoops are associated with only one club in Scotland by most. And fans of Celtic will just retort with 'rather wear it successfully than first'. People expecting a big meltdown are placing far more importance on it in their own heads than what the reality would be. There would be a lot of piss taking 'banter' rather than nonsensical anger.
If people want to wear a hopped top based on an old strip then fine, no skin off my nose, but for a 150th anniversary kit picking anything other than the first kit or the kit we have worn for the majority of our history (87 years this time next year) would just be a bit random.

I'd love us to wear it as a first choice strip for one year only. I think it will be a bit like the Hearts one from last season though. A 3rd kit that gets sporadic appearances.
White top, white shorts, green socks for home. Green strip, white collar, white sleeves, white shorts and green and white hooped socks for the away (kit we wore when we added white sleeves in 1938). 3rd would then have to be black/yellow/purple. I'd favour the latter, preferably with white sleeves.

Anyone who would like to see us wear the hooped shirt would have to admit the primary reason for doing so would be to antagonise Celtic supporters and taunt them about being first to wear that shirt. Not one person will be arguing for its reintroduction as a commemorative strip purely on historical grounds.
A shirt that was the second kit, and one used for just a couple of seasons.
We might have been the first to wear such a kit, but after Celtic adopted it the shirt has become very much their own, and instantly recognisable as Celtic. The hoops are theirs.
Hibs in 2025 wearing such a kit would just make us look like absolute clowns and we’d be laughed out the room.

I wouldn’t want us to do the hooped top for the anniversary as it’s factually inaccurate - as has been suggested, it should be along the lines of the actual first kit.
I’d love for us to do a hooped kit at some point over the next few years though, maybe as an away strip or third kit.
It would be great if we got to wear it at ER against Celtic and they had to wear that pishy salmony number from a few years back that they’ve had to wear against us a few times due to our kits clashing.

I've said it before but if it is truly a celebration of 150 years of Hibs then it should be a white top, white shorts and green socks for the home strip as it was our first. 2nd strip should be all green as we wore that for the best part of fifty years and the third strip should be green with white sleeves as we have worn that since the late 30s. As above the hoops should never ever be worn by Hibs again. They are celtic and everyone who knows football associates them with celtic, not Hibs

That all makes sense, although I'd want the third strip worn far more often than the second strip.

Celtic hardly stole our hooped kit. We last wore it in 1879, they only started playing in hoops in 1904. Their first kit was also a white shirt and then for over a decade wore green and white stripes before adopting the hoops.
We can argue about wearing green hoops first to our hearts content but all we'll get everywhere is " why are you playing in Celtic shirts".

I notice that Bevvy are now Edinburgh Rugby 'Official Whisky Partner'. Not sure if their logo will be on the kit but club rugby have sponsorship all over their kits - sleeves, shorts, back, front. So they will probably appear somewhere.

The film camera filter makes it pretty hard to see what the shade of green is like.
Just some feedback for the future, our minds are extremely sensitive to different shades of green so would be helpful to make it more clear what you're buying!

If I was being really picky I'd say I'd have preferred the stripes the other way round, so with the purple stripes being thicker that would run down the middle rather than a green stripe (to see what I mean look at the 1995 kit where it is a purple rather than a green stripe that runs from the centre of the collar).
That's just a preference though. It's a cracker.
2 out of 3 are good this season which isn't a bad hit rate.

I bought my 6 year old the away kit, based on the size guide on the website. When it arrived it's actually sized for an 8 year old (per the label).
Took it back to exchange and whilst being very nice and helpful, the guy in store tells me they have no training tops or kits in the 6 year old size. Doesn't know when they might get some. Checked website today for the 3rd kit and it's the same situation.
So basically there's £50 that I'll be getting refunded. Or I wait with no real insight as to whether these sizes ever become available. Not great.

I did think the Kids sizes were different to last year but just put it down to them being smaller made or something. i think i'll just wait and see what sizes are like/left when the season starts and we can get to the shop.
i think last year the infant kit went up to a 6year size, but that only seems to be up to 4 this year.

4 to 6 year olds haven't been catered for at all. I asked Kieran Power to look into it and he said they will be coming into stock late summer. It's disgraceful to be honest. No training kit or replica kit for their holidays. I know rhe sizing of Joma as the wee man's training kit for his wee team is joma. By far and away the best of the 3 kits! Point off for the collar, wish Joma didnt feel the need to overcomplicate collars.Shows you that if you do tributes to previous classic kits then you are on to a winner. Going forward a copy of the 85-87 insave home umbro kit with the white band would be a winner. Also just do a white away kit with green sleeves as we had for much of the 80s and early 90s!

Still finished 3rd one of the seasons. A point behind Motherwell in 2nd which is a sickener looking at it

Hibs teaser yesterday on twitter showed us scoring 3 goals against them at celtic park wearing that kit...
We drew 2-2 in 1995 as well. Harper and Jackson. That was back at Celtic Park. The Keith Wright goal featured in the teaser was scored at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup semi final replay. Darren Jackson also scored wearing that kit in a 2-1 defeat in 1996.
We definitely never scored 3 in one game v Celtic away in the 2 seasons we wore the original kit.
I can't remember which game it was but in one of them Gordon Marshall had to change his kit under instruction of the ref. Celtic's only keeper kit was also green and purple and he changed into an old yellow kit from a couple of seasons before mid way through the 1st half.

My first game was the 3rd place season. 2-0 defeat at home to Falkirk in the April. Wednesday at 5pm due to north and south stands being built so no floodlights. Think it was that defeat that ended chance of 2nd

Taking the bairn to her first game on Saturday and was expecting to get her a strip or top from the shop, but if 5 year olds don’t have anything then it’s really disappointing, and Hibs are missing a(nother!) trick - how to annoy and frustrate a fan base 😡

My daughter is 6 and I got her the 4XS and it fits really well. Maybe worth trying.
The infants kids are a joke. The home and away aren't even close to the same design as the players kits; charging a premium price for random green and white tops. My laddie is 2 and is just starting to take a bit of interest in football and he's not getting a Hibs top because of it. Got him the Inter Miami retro top and a Scotland top instead.

Each to their own, but really not getting people's hate for the sponsor. I think it's a unique company operating in one of Scotland's major successful industries, with a memorable name and importantly for a football top has a good font and interesting design for a sponsor. For me it looks better than Utliita as an example. Are people really going to get the sponsor removed?!?!?

Realistically how often can we really wear it? I reckon the white will get a lot of run outs, perhaps with green shorts, away to your Dundees, Ross Counties and even Aberdeen ect. Might see the purple against St. Mirren and Motherwell but along with Celtic that could be it.

Was on holiday recently in Lanzarote, a place full mostly with Brits (the hotel not the island) and was really surprised at how many Inter Miami tops there were.
I actually really like the colour combination on the tops, but don’t think I’d buy one.
They seem to have done a really good job commercially for such a young club.

Just out of interest (and to lighten the gloom of most current threads), what are the thoughts on this season's kit after seeing it in action for a few months?
I've been back and forward on the green shorts, but have decided I don't like them. I think they take away too much white from the kit. The 2007 League Cup winning strip I found to be better because the white sleeves extended over the shoulders and gave it a better balance.
White socks might work better with this season's kit.

Away - Loved it to start with. Bought it for my daughter and don't like it so much up close.
3rd - Wasn't too keen to start with. Based on a classic but the stripes being the 'other way' round and one colour being thinner than the other annoyed me. It's grown on me and is now my favourite of the 3 outfield tops.
Keepers - All brilliant. Shame about the model wearing them.
