Nice enough top but no keen on green shorts.

It's ok, Will probably wait to see what the away and 3rd is like first before I decide which one.

Crap collar and crap colour, but it doesn't affect me as I've not bought a strip since I was a kid.

Bang average kit. Collar is not nice but that sponsor logo is horrendous and far too big. 5/10

I liked the first few JOMA kits and I think their training gear is good quality. Last 2 home kits have been poor though.

Only the 2nd Joma kit I haven't liked, keeper top is mental though so that's good

Would prefer the collar to be plain and white shirts though.

Green shorts? Just why?

Maybe a nod to the Tony Mowbray years and the 2000’s where we had green shorts for a few of the seasons with Le Coq Sportif.

Quite like the top - plain and simple, but would prefer white shorts.

Jay

It's OK. I like the collar , don't like the white bit on the shorts . The sponsors logo is way to big I won't be buying again this year because of the sponsor so it really doesn't matter.

It's green every year, surely it's time for a change?

I need a colour that goes well with jeans.

Let’s not beat around the bush here, it’s rubbish! I appreciate there’s not a lot you can do with a Hibs home kit, it’s pretty standard green body white sleeves, as it should be, don’t mess. But the detail is just a bit naff looking and Joma as a supplier is second rate. I had a look on Wikipedia as to who Joma are, if you can be bothered looking on wiki it lists the clubs they supply kits to, there are a lot, but it’s all semi pro clubs playing at a very low level and in minor leagues! Apart from Norwich City (for some reason) we must be about their most prestigious club! This pretty much sums us up at the moment and I believe we are tied into them for some time to come!! Who exactly makes these ‘small time’ deals??
I wouldn’t be buying one anyway but plenty people do and plenty more would if we had a decent manufacturer. I feel for the kids who see other kids in tops made by Nike/Adidas/Puma/New Balance or whatever and they have to wear poxy Joma!

I hear this a lot and i've never understood it.

Surely you could say the same about any teams kit, ie its a standard maroon top, not much you can do with it, or its an all red kit (aberdeen, liverpool etc), there's not much you can do with it..

Lancs Harp
20-06-2024, 09:10 AM
I'd say pretty average. I'd prefer a darker green personally and white shorts as oppose to green. I normally buy one of the three shirts each season and will probably hold off to see what the other two look like.
Not sure on the collar. Not the worse shirt, not the best. Will look good with the Scottish Cup held aloft above it 😃

Eh...Atlanta just won the Europa League and finished 4th in the Seria A. If you look a bit further you will see that Joma provide kits to some other biggest clubs in Europe.

I'm with you. I know some people dont care much about the strips but for me its one thing that, with a decent design and decent brand, you can ensure is top notch on the pitch.

Yet we have 6 more years of amateur designs like that. Hate to say it but Aberdeen and Hearts have got things right with decent brands and decent designs IMO.

Gie yersel peace mate.

Make no mistake, if we win games/trophies no one will be concerned about the strip.

Although I wasn’t keen on some of the home kits the last few years, at least it looked like some genuine input was given and they tried to be unique.

The sponsor does make a difference - look at the online kits of the kids and adults and Utilita just looks more symmetrical and better than the Bevvy logo.

Sponsor just seems too high on the kit too.

Don’t dislike the kit but you do wonder who signs these things off.

I hope for the anniversary kit they let fans decide.

Don't like it. It's the collar, it's just an odd looking design. If you're going to go basic with no idea (like the map) that's fine , but then you have to get the details spot on.

Still, won't dwell on it.

The more I think about it, the more it seems how totally bizaare the new kit is.

Its like they have taken last years identical kit , removed the shadow stripes to make it duller and changed the collar from a bad one to an even worse one.

And the infants top? It does look better than the adults one with the different collar but why would anyone pay 45 quid for a top that isnt really the same as the one the team is actually wearing?

The V part is just trying a bit too hard - even a simple white collar all the way round would have looked more smart.

Top - don’t think it’s too bad but will depend on material and shade of green. Joan reminds me of LQS - years of fairly nondescript shirts and none have really become classics like the adidas ones from 90s.

Shorts - just not right in my opinion. I hate this current trend to teams wearing same colour tops and shorts. The Dutch strips with white shorts and Germans with black shorts and dare I say England with navy shorts all far better than the current all orange/ all white strips UEFA/FIFA seem to encourage.

Just back from the ‘event’ and have to say I am really underwhelmed .

When I walked into the shop I actually walked past the first mannequin wearing the new kit as I immediately thought it was last years!!! 🙈

As for the event itself, it was nice to hear from David Gray and from Kit Gordon, she spoke really well considering the position of owner of a football club is relatively new to her… some nice words about Ron and his vision and how DG becoming manager was a part of that.

We also had quick words from Jordan Obita and Dylan Levitt… looking forward to the new season and all that… usual preseason rhetoric.

But ultimately I felt a bit disappointed by the event and as a ‘prize winner’ walked away £100 down as there was a strange feeling that I was obliged to purchase the new kit then and there… probably just me but that’s how it felt.

We received ‘goody’ bags with a free hibs badge and ST wallet and a cheap Fanatics water bottle… nothing of real value to the club and certainly less than I would expect as a competition prize… at the very least a 10% discount on the new kit would’ve been a nice prize!!!

Managed a quick chat with Joelle and David Gray which was nice and got the obligatory pics with the wee one, who also chose a training tip over the new kit… so that’s saying something in my opinion.

Swing and a miss for this years Home kit Hibs… 7/10… must do better.

The shop has had a superficial makeover…. Nothing special just a bit of modern look… quite reminiscent of the new hospitality decor… nice but in my opinion probably not worth whatever was spent on it. Just Fanatics putting their ‘touch’ on it I guess.

And yes, I could’ve manned up and just left empty handed but I really felt like the 20 or so staff in the shop this morning were all staring into my soul and hypnotising me to purchase lolololol….. (I’m off to take my anti anxiety meds now!)

Have to say in defence of the full green approach this year, I have. Priced the trend in doing this at the Euros just now… seems a lot of kit manufacturers have gone down this route.

It’s a nice change for a season but it needs to be traditional and an inspired design next year or their will be blood lolololololol

I can remember a time in the 80’s when it was quite the trend to cut the bottom of the “V” on football tops for reasons I’m not quite sure!
Did it myself to one without knowing why - loads of people were doing it across a variety of different replica shirts.

That said, there were never any surplus bits of material sewn back in to make a funky collar.

NOTE:- Ben Kensell was also there and said a few words, again more of the same preseason chatter… welcoming DG to the role of Head Coach, exciting times at the club yadda yadda yadda…. He did say there will be some player announcements in the coming days.

A better layout for the Bevvy logo makes it slightly less 'offensive' to folks eyes lol....

Different collar. Different shirt material. Thats about it.

Hibs home colours arent black though are they.

So I dont know who would be getting the three points in your ideal scenario but it wouldnt be Hibs.

Hence scramble to come up with strip with little difference to this years.
Green shorts never belong on a Hibs kit however I suppose socks are nice.
Maybe we’ll get a decent side to watch to make up for the strip mediocrity.

Have to say in defence of the full green approach this year, I have. Priced the trend in doing this at the Euros just now… seems a lot of kit manufacturers have gone down this route.

It’s a nice change for a season but it needs to be traditional and an inspired design next year or their will be blood lolololololol

Has to be all green to match the all white away.

For such an inoffensive shirt I really don't like it.

The collar looks bad, the sponsor is squashed into the middle and looks odd, the rest of the shirt is boring and featureless and why are we back at green shorts again? Very few Hibs fans want green shorts.

The first few pages were all on the lines of Hibs home strip just needs to be plain green and white and how difficult can it be to do just a plain strip every year.

We get a plain enough strip with little change and people then want some radical changes. They can’t win really.

There was only a couple of people who said it should be a similar plain strip every year and there were others pointing out why that would be a bad idea. Looking at some of the gear we knock about in generally, is there surprise that there’s such a swing of opinion? It’s not as if most of us have the finger on the pulse of fashion. We like what we like and that’s never gonna change unless the team attaches some positive memories to it. Could be a future classic if the team performs & a dud if they don’t.

Bevvy.com is an aberration at the front of our shirt. Think someone posted earlier that kids were not invited to the launch of the shirt due to our main shirt sponsor. What kind of launch is that when our shirt is not deemed suitable for kids.

As for the home kit. Below average, which kind of sums the whole club up at the moment.

My point is it lacks class and credibility to use a slang word for alcohol at the front of our jersey. I'm not sure if it has been imposed on the club to use a different sponsor on the kids jersey, or they feel it's not a good look and decided to use a different sponsor.

Some overlook it on Hibs.net, some don't. Opinions.

I just feel it is a very poor look at the front of the Hibs jersey.

Presumably, it automatically changes to the currency of different countries depending on where you are.

Not sure it’s a good exchange rate, and I think despite promises to the contrary they are including VAT…which, unless the law in the UK has been changed in the past three years, is ‘not collectable’ to use the official term.

I think it would be smart to wear the anniversary kit the full season

Me too and I’d be pretty disappointed if this isn’t to be the case.

Has anyone had any issues with the new kit being delivered?

I ordered 2 personalised kits for my boys (names & numbers on the back). Socks and shorts received, but tops still not been processed 8 days later.

Unfortunately the only way to get in touch now seems to be via a live chat with Fanatics and that is getting me nowhere!

Fanatics chat is automated and when you finally get through it’s a poor service.

I bought something off site when it went live, sent it back and still waiting on refund two weeks later.

Not strictly about the new kit but does the shop still do printing in store? I’m looking to get a previous seasons top printed up.

Yes, printing still available

Really like that but still not keen on the sponsor on both tops. Just doesn’t look right for me and takes away from our badge with the round logo.

The kids one looks bit better with Utilita - would be perfect again if they ditched the end logo on it. Just more clean.

When was the last time we went all white away?

3rd kit green and purple ??

I saw the woman’s team were also modelling it on the promo video.

I thought clubs were ditching white shorts for the women in support of making things a bit easier when on their period?

Missed a trick there with the woman’s team?

Has anyone bought one of the new strips for a small 6 year old?

My son is almost 6 and going by the size chart should be a 5XS but not available in either ship.

The infant kits go up to age 4 which is too small for him. So not sure what to go for…

Also, does the club store have a new phone number?(maybe worth calling them)

As someone who’s advocated a more simple strip I now find myself thinking this one is far too simple and is just a glorified training top. As you said, no pleasing some/me :greengrin

Gives me a lot of encouragement for the 150th commemorative strip next season.
