Travelling up from Essex for the game flying into Edinburgh on the Sat morning. Intending to get the train over to Hampden.
Is there a hibs friendly pub near the ground anyone knows of? Or will most be heading straight to the stadium? Usually we drive over.

Probably the Montford outside the ground at our end always jumping when we go through get there reasonably sharp as they usually have queuing system nearer kick off time always good atmosphere though:flag:
Will the Hibs v Aberdeen semi final game be shown live on Hibs tv?

There are maybe 100/150 seats left in the Main Stand that are bunched together, are they maybe trying to encourage folk to buy them before opening up G3

Think they will have to open another section soon as right now kids can't go unless they buy a more expensive ticket.
The South lower tickets are taking a while to sell - hopefully get them sold too to fill the section.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this will be our largest league cup semi final crowd for a long time?
They could open G8 and G7 and fill those blocks as G3 seems a much bigger area to fill.

Positive result tomorrow on the back of showing the fight we did at the weekend, as well as payday for a lot of folk, and I reckon we’ll shift most, if not all of G3.

We've sold three stands at Tynecastle on a couple of occasions for LC semis back when they had the wooden main stand. Probably would have been around 14k between the three stands. I think this will be our biggest LC semi crowd ever. Certainly in the last 30 years.

There was 19,024 at Tynie in 1993 when we beat Dundee United. United only had the away end and it wasn't packed so think there could have been about 15k Hibs fans that night.
St Johnstone semi in 2007 had just over 16k crowd with over 3k Saints fans. 2016 game had 16,900 with over 3k Saints fans, so think this weekend will be biggest since 93, if not bigger.

In terms of non "Old-Firm" LC semis, Aberdeen v Dundee United at Hamden in 2015 had 29,608 there, which was pretty good and I don't think has been bettered since LC semis became one off games.

It will be a tough game but they have been crap ever since Robson got the gig full time. This is a great opportunity for us, it’ll be a really sore one if we don’t take advantage. Extra day of rest for us going in to it as well with them playing on Wednesday.

I agree. I'm too long in the Hibs tooth to even be confident never mind take anything for granted.
However, they've got a tough game away to Motherwell on Wednesday so they'll have a day's less recovery than us which could be work our favour.

Most Dons fans I know think AFC-chat is full of roasters. I wouldnt pay it any attention.
On their day they are very decent, they beat Rangers at Ibrox.
On our day we are very decent too - we beat them at Pittodrie.
Its a very even match imo, bookies have us as very marginal favourites.

This tie is as 50/50 as it gets with both teams equally as likely to be awful or excellent.
Having said that i think we would all bite your hand off for a 50/50 chance of getting to a Cup Final.

Never confident with Hibs at Hampden but I think we should be winning this game. We have an 8-0 aggregate score against them the last 3 games, it seems to me the players like playing them, you would imagine their players are the opposite.
Could go either way but I will be very disappointed if we don’t win, would represent Monty’s first truly bad result.

Motherwells pitch has a significant slope touchline enclosure towards the main stand, as long as they plonk a few flood barriers down and give the fans in that stand lifejackets the pitch should be fine

It's mad.
I get the stuff about planning ahead for policing and stewarding and also the issues that used to arise with cash gates and missing money. However having no facility to buy tickets on the day, particularly relevant to away fans, is just crazy. Loads of times in the past I have decided on the day to attend a game I maybe hadn't planned to for reasoning ranging from other plans changing to simply because the weather is nice.
You can watch a huge number of lower leagues clubs right throughout the pyramid using a completely online and contactless system in Fanbase yet for a national semi final we are still working with 100% paper tickets and you have Premiership games at which you can't buy a ticket on the day of the game. I don't believe etickets are beyond the SPFL or a contactless gate is beyond the clubs.

Been to a few Dortmund games and watched many on TV, there are Dortmund fans in the home sections at every game I have attended/watched. The distinctive yellow scarves make them very easy to spot.
Only game they avoid (sitting in home sections) I believe is Schalke as there is bad blood.
German football fans appear to be more accepting of a home fan taking an away fan with him/her to the game. I expect the Ultras are less accepting.

They would've been bemused as German fans can mix at most games so segregation isn't a problem...
The only exception is generally behind the goals in the Ultras/fanatics section, and every game I've attended in Germany usually states no opposing fans in these ends but other than that, mixing isn't a problem in Germany.
I guess Scotland is quite unique in that we have 2 clubs with some of the largest home and away supporters on the planet, with very short travelling distances so does create a potential problem. Rangers SLO sometimes releases the amount of applicants they have for away tickets and it can be 15,000 - 20,000 applying for a standard away game. I'd be surprised if there's any other clubs in Europe out with Celtic, Liverpool, Man Utd and maybe the odd Munich or Dortmund game with that level of demand for away matches.

That's been my experience as well.
Any away fans in the home sections are mostly in the areas right next to the away end, but still mixing with home fans.

Really can't see the logic in this.
The only reason I can think of is that we beat them a couple of months ago.
Our form going into Saturday is very poor.

I'm the same. A trip to Hampden normally really excites me (especially as I live five minutes from the stadium!) but right now I feel a bit flat about tomorrow. I'm sure a beer with my mates will perk me up and I'll get in the mood.

It’s a game we can win and equally it’s a game we could lose.
Get along, support the team and enjoy the game. If the team turns up and we get the breaks and the goals we will do it and be back at Hampden in December. If not, well, them’s the breaks.
Two evenly matched teams with up and down form. Could be a classic.

Who's bedwetting? I just said I feel a bit flat, as it's unusual for me to feel that way before a trip to Hampden.
Like I also said, I'm sure I'll feel differently tomorrow, and hopefully the team can turn up in what's probably our biggest game since the 2022 SC semi against Hearts.

We are more than slight favourites according to the bookies.
You can get Aberdeen for 21/10 on Bet 365, whilst Hibs are as short as 6/5 on William Hill.
I think most people with an interest in Scottish football would see this as a 50/50 so its a surprise to me that the odds arent tighter.
Obviously I hope the bookies are correct:greengrin

I worry about the football when it starts, until that point I always try to enjoy the day and I'm always excited for it pretty much regardless of form or our chances of winning.

Can’t wait for tomorrow. Boyle and Youan can really stretch them if they get in behind them. If Vente can drop back when required to the midfield, we can win this. 2 in the middle could cause us problems, but if Vente is dropping back when needed, we will be ok. He nullified Calum McGregor against Celtic, and could do the same with Shinnie. If Boyle and Youan are stretching them, he can still get involved at the business end too.
I really like Montgomery and his team. He has made mistakes, substitutions midweek were awful, but he learned after the Rangers game, and we looked a different prospect against Celtic.
