Not unhappy with the team. If, with hindsight, it doesn’t work out I don’t think anyone can really go slaughtering Johnson for a weird selection. It makes sense.

Hanlon’s had a terrible month and can have no complaints about being dropped. Not convinced Rocky and Porto make for a great pairing though.

Youan has looked lively without providing much of note but I can see why we’d keep him in there.

It’s definitely close to our strongest XI and we’re playing a poor side. I should be looking forward to this more than I am.

I don’t understand why, we are significantly worse defensively when he is not playing. Our other midfielders better performances have also came when he was anchoring the midfield and relieving them of some defensive responsibilities.

To be fair, he’s not had many scrappy 10/15 mins.

In 6 of his 9 appearances off the bench he’s had half an hour or more. He got 19 (still not too bad) 4 and 5 in the others. That’s not including stoppage time.

As far as sub appearances go, you can’t ask for much more of an opportunity than that. You have to show something if you’re getting that much time off the bench if you want to start games and he’s been nowhere near doing that.

Who would you start him ahead of today?

Campbell. Put Mcgeady at 10, Magennis in CM and let Mckirdy have a run and see if he can get going. 10 mins here and there then starting him at Parkhead and Tynie then expecting him to perform is just lunacy. Two of our 3 hardest fixtures of the season and he's expected to come in and impress out of nowhere.

Think that’s a little tough on Youan, he set up a couple vs Livingston with some cracking balls into the box.

As many have said, probably the best 11 we can field at the moment and with Motherwell not exactly seeing the heather alight I’m hopeful for a decent result.

It does seem a weird one, seemed trusted earlier and the season and one I thought was doing well in the majority of games.

Technically he’s lacking a bit so maybe working on that but defensively he’s solid and seems to win everything

Whilst I agree it’s harsh that mckirdy has only started at parkhead and tynecastle, but in those games and his other subs appearances he has shown nothing that suggests he should start. Contrast that with McGeady who also had 45 mins at tynecastle and made himself an obvious starter today.

Agree. Massive game for both teams so I'm expecting both to go all out for the win. We really to start turning things around and they'll be desperate to break their bad run of no home wins since August so hopefully it leads to an open game.
