He can but I doubt he will. Davidson’s may be rescinded tho and downgraded to yellow.
:agree: i think they should/will appeal that one

Newell was good today I don’t think it’s any coincidence his better performances come when he’s not playing alongside JDH far too similar players occupying the same spaces was much better knowing Kenneh was sitting covering for him to move forward
Opinions eh, think Kenneh has slotted into his role well but with the money we've brought in from both Boyle and Doig we'd sign someone better than Newell who can drive forward create and score more than a goal in the league every 2 years or so.

never e
Nah never watched Rugby apart from when South Africa won the world cup, fitba aw ma days, we're all entitled to our opinions.
Aye I think Joe Newell is nowhere near good enough for us, he is definitely a football player, but last season he would look class and you think thats him starting to come on to something, then ***** again for about the next 4 or 5 games then decent again. we need our most experienced central midfielder and probably highest earning cm in the middle to be someone better who plays decent once a month.
Maybe table tennis then?

As soon as I saw they had Considine I wanted them relegated, hated that **** playing against us for Aberdeen, probably as much as that aussie ex jambo theyve got.
They've got Drey Wright though so he could be that creative spark that lights up there season, going to miss him so much.

Sorry for the name calling man, that is my bad. Just us winning is about the only good thing thats happened today, I made that comment then came back on to about 4 comments taking the piss for it and said that and i shouldn't have.
We might disagree but apologies your no a ****ing rocket am the one acting like one, should've edited it once I saw itFair enough
By the way, Im no big fan of Newell and he has been indifferent but I trust the guys who have seen him in the flesh this season and particularly today, hopefully he has turned a corner though 👍

I don’t think over the peace he has been good enough, and I think we need someone else to come in there but he was good today and I’m not gonna hammer him after a very good display

Im feeling a bit better facing hearts next week now, my mate was at the game and said hearts were garbage, that said its a derby, form goes out the windae

Nope, only one sport Im a follower of that is based on ones performance, although I do like a double, maybe they do that like the tennis?
Baseball looks alright from the highlights, team sport and we get to see players make good runs sometimes but ***** a lot of the time. and most can hit a ball better than Newell.

Ross County dominated for large spells apparently but three points is all that matters.

Mental how people can’t see newell plays best when playing as an attacking central midfielder. All the games he looks sh it in he is played deep, clearly instructed to recycle possession, not move forward.
He does drive forward with the ball when he is not playing as the dlpm.
Remember the last derby at Easter road, for 60 mins in that game (until joe went off injured) he bossed the fuds “superstar midfield” single handedly, he has it in his locker, just needs to be played right, and motivated properly.

That was a bloody massive goal. Genuinely think it has the potential to shape the whole season. The reaction would have been so different had we not got it. Must have been brilliant for the new players, in particular, to see the reaction at full time.

I didn't hammer him. I wrote a post which was paragraphs about how happy I was witht today especially with a lot of the players who have never played in this league before looking good. Most of it was postive. I just also happened to mention that if they were on the front today then even Hallberg could havw did as good a job as Newell if they had swapped teams probably.
Hallberg was probably hyperbole, I didn't think he was terrible for us but not great but at the same time wouldnt offer much more for us than Joe Newell so the comparison was wrong but we definitely need a batter driving central midfielder than one who scores a goal ever couple of years and goes posted missing a few weeks a month.
I'll be happy to be proven wrong, maybe in this new formation with the new style, Kenneh sitting back and allowing him to go forward, he will start getting in about things making assists and scoring even a few goals a season. I'd be delighted. But I can't see it and think we need better fot that role if we want to finish top 4.
I did think Mueller looked a player in his first few games and was just tired from not long ending their season and after a good pre season he would be good this season but he wasn't and was already back over the pond ages ago it seems now.
So I could definitely be wrong but Newells been here since 2019 and knows the Brittish game very well. could be a decent squad player but if he's the planned starter in that role each week can see us having midfield issues.
Like i said though I could be wrong, it was only a few months ago I said he was miles better than JDH because atleast he turns up once a month with a decent game in the league but JDH seems to have definitely improved under Johnson and , still young and was never here in our good times so hopefully he can keep improving, hopefully they both can.
Or if we don't sign someone hopefully when Magennis is back he isn't rushed back and there is no other injuries because he is a class act in the middle and would play that role brilliantly.
But yeah we all have opinions I think we need to sign a new CM to play there if we are to have any hopes of a top 4 finsih or cup and get into europe but everyone else replying to me think Newell is the man for that Job and is gonna smash it and get us there so we're all good in that position.
I disagree with them, they disagree with me that he isn't. I actually hope they're correct and im wrong.

No
Seems like the manager knew what he was doing. Any thoughts now?Post said he has no idea what managers see in him. Which is correct.

I enjoyed the one touch football in stoppage time of the second half.
Next Sunday there will be much more space for us in behind the Midfield and defence.

That is the sort of game we need to be winning if we are to get anywhere this season, it would have been an absolute bummer not to considering how much we dominated it. Still though, with the number of new guys we had and two practically playing their first game for the club it was a good result.
But I doubt anyone will disagree that St Johnstone were, to be kind, bang average even with eleven men and on that basis it's hard to tell what today says about us as a team, there can be no doubt there are far tougher tests to come.
My main concern would be how few real chances we made over the 90 odd minutes, I can't recall the St Johnstone keeper having a save to make. We did have a few attempts but most of them were woefully off target .... it may be consolation to Euan Henderson that I've not long finished watching Haaland make just as bad a job of a very similar chance for Man City :greengrin The other thing noticeable to me is that Tavares seems to think his job is simply to beat as many men as possible even if that ends up with him being crowded out as he was far too many times today .... beat yer man and geez an end product mate.
Overall it's ( unsurprisingly ) pretty clear we have a way to go before we gel as a team, especially in the final third where we suffered from some poor passing and just as poor decision making .... I would also add that practically half of our corners seemed to end up in free kicks for the opposition, I wouldn't disagree that the ref seemed to be seeing fouls where there were none, but even so we have to be smarter in these situations.
On to the derby then and I have to say after today I'm non the wiser as to how it will go .... take yer pick from .... A) a sobering doing .... B) a hard fought draw .... C) a lovely surprise for everybody :greengrin
