If we’re going to continue with 1 central striker, then the Boyle money will have to be spent on a driving force in midfield. That area behind the striker needs a ball player. Allan isn’t fit enough for it, Campbell isn’t good enough for it. I like Magennis, but 4 or 5 games in then 10-15 out isn’t going to work. If we don’t have real expectations of Magennis being fit for a large part of our remaining games then we need to bring in someone with quality to do that job.

I've stated many times problems are mainly defence and midfield. However, if your entire backline (including the goalkeeper) struggle to control the ball and pass you’ll need to be a magician to get them playing out from the back.

Most of our players genuinely look like they could trip over the ball under no pressure.
