I do disagree, it's a completely different way of playing we aare seeing, some of the one touch football was a delight. We were in control for the first 25 minutes spraying it about quickly and with purpose.

Aberdeen came into the game a bit, but to say it was dreadfull is just wrong, it might be your opinion but its a wrong opinion.

He looks a little nervey but Doig ****ed about with he ball and reverted to passing back under no real pressure. The pass back then goes to Macey's left foot despite being right footed. Lots of little needless mistakes.

True, but it's not the 80s or 90s anymore. Keepers nowadays need to be half decent with the ball, even more so in the kind of system that Belgium play. I presume Maloney's style will be similar.

2 days training and can already see what he's trying to do. Making sure the players continue buying into what he's saying will be key. Tired badly in the 2nd half which is understandable.

Makeshift midfield and still looked quite comfortable. I don't think Aberdeen had any clear cut chances inside our box, shots from distance throughout.

Big difference was wing backs pinned to the touchline. We also moved the ball forward more quickly - might because Newell not playing. KN worked harder but can't play on his own up front.

Absolutely massive three points.

Delighted for the players and Maloney.

Macey’s kicking is shocking but he is a very good shot stopper and his handling tonight from crosses was very good.

We need better quality players on the ball all over the park though. Guys more comfortable under pressure especially in the final third and that are capable of beating someone and making something happen.

You could see glimmers of what Maloney is trying to do. It won’t be a quick process though.

As much as I liked Ross and thought he maybe should have got more time you just need to look at his record in the last 10 games or so.

Since he’s left we’ve got 7/10 points and 2 clean sheets in 4. Something was missing but it looks like we’re on our way to fixing it.

I’ll give Murphy credit as I’m normally very critical of him but he done very well defensively tonight and won it back on several occasions. His touch was poor though but I’m willing to accept that happens.

Players engaging early hunting in packs or at least pairs.
More energy in the play looking to play forward as opposed to sideways JDH going off caused possession issues but there is a difference and the right players in the middle of the pitch will see even more improvements

I hope somebody has a long chat with him as it's happening far too often. I appreciate he's targeted to a certain extent by opposition players and fans, but he's not a 'young' player any more and needs to wisen up. If he didn't act the daft laddie he wouldn't be targeted.

A very big win that was essential if we are to start looking up rather than nervously over shoulders. Thought it was a decent, very even game. Aberdeen are a long way from where they were & clearly in a transition of their own. And we've started the process of moving forward, with a style that I'm sure will develop & be much easier on the eye, with the squad being overhauled considerably once the manager is able to do so.

Great result and Maloney has clearly told players to trust themselves, play football and keep it on the deck. It was a bit ropey at times but I think the crowd was very supportive and the players have clearly changed the way they are playing as individuals. Porteous had quite a few excellent moments but he needs to not get too carried away. I thought Doig was excellent in the second half and even Scottie worked hard for the hour he was on. We definitely pressed better and higher although that happened less and less as the game wore on. We desperately need to find a formation that gets someone within 20 yards of Nisbet. He is so isolated and was taking a touch and looking up but seeing no one. By the time we went to take another touch 2 or 3 Dons converged on him. Newell will fit that style very well imo and hope he is back for Tannadice. One thing that was very different was how easily we saw the game out. We were deep but only a couple of crosses came in and by keeping the ball a bit better there were far less Don's attacks to deal with. Great start Shaun.

I will stick my head out as my own opinion. Apart from obvious ones in squad needing upgrades on Wright , gogic etc

I feel we need a better right back than McGinn. Takes too many touches, too slow and doesn’t offer anything going forward. Meaning even when Boyle operates through middle he often pops up everywhere to try make things happen.

Jake Doyle-Hayes. I just don’t see it. Very boring slow football , everything is sideways and backwards between him and McGinn it slows everything down. Feel these 2 as constant starters need upgrade. We need more dynamic players capable of dropping a shoulder and going past people.

Lastly - unpopular opinion. Scott Allan isn’t answer anymore long term. Feel we should look to dip into market for a younger exciting play maker for the team.

Couple of bums off seats players badly needed. In my humble opinion
