A 3-0 win up at Aberdeen today keeps the under 18s on course to win the league.
Another two goals for Connor Young and one for Malik.

Another great result . There have been a few mentions on this thread of qualifying for European youth competition but never read anything else from Hibs or SFA about this . What is situation for European competitions ? Realise that priority is preparing players for first team .

If we win the U18 league we’re in the Uefa youth league next season. Hamilton were in it a few years back

It goes to under 19 so basically you can play with the same squad as won it the season before.
There are sections but I think Hibs have to play home and away ties initially.

Did Maloney ever watch the youth games ?O`Connor played in first team and others were on bench so I`m sure he`ll have watched youth team in person and for many hours on video analysis . From interviews , it seemed obvious he was working very long hours and I`m sure that included watching youths . One of the reasons he was appointed in the first place was the experience he had in Belgium not just with first team but also following under age groups and at Celtic I think he`d worked with junior teams ( knew Henderson from then ) .
Boozy is working with younger age groups than U18.
Is it not Jim McDonaugh that's involved.

Rangers have 6 games remaining, Hibs, Hearts, Killie and Hamilton at home and Motherwell and Celtic away. Hearts only have 4 games left, Hibs, Rangers and Dundee Utd away and Hibs at home in their last game of the season.
Hibs still have 12 games left, it is now looking unlikely that Hibs will be able to fulfill all their fixtures and as soon as they have arithmetically won the league the remaining unscheduled games will be scrapped.
The schedule upcoming fixtures are -
Friday 22nd Hamilton (h) 26th Aberdeen (h), Killie 29th (a), Aberdeen 3/5 (a), Celtic 5th (h), DU 10th (h), Hearts 15th (a). (other unscheduled games away - DU, Gers, Well, home Hearts, Well.

so 7 wins at the most needed. That’s if rangers win all their remaining games. Which is unlikely.

We were later in starting the league by about a week or so, we had an outbreak of Covid at HTC which closed the centre for a couple of weeks, other teams also had covid and postponed their games against us, (it was also suspected that because we were playing well, thay did not want to play us at that time and used Covid as an excuse), we also had a couple of games called off becuase of the weather (the storms earlier in the year) and one of our games against Motherwell at HTC was postponed because of floodlight issues at HTC.

It seems there is a really good robust structure in place for perhaps the first time in a long time to make the jump between the unders and the first team.
Maybe I am wrong but it looks like we have finally created a decent development pathway for players.
I can’t think of any players that have come out our academy and been successful here since East Mains was built. I believe RP came from celtic

I thought that too but he doesn't seem to have set the heather on fire all that much at Dunfermline and Killie. Maybe he's a slow burner and will get there eventually but Hibs cannot really afford to keep players on indefinitely - they need to force their way into the first team in their early 20s or are better off progressing elsewhere really.

I thought RP had come from Celtic quite late on but another poster said that’s not the case.
From that then I’d say that Doig and Porteous have made the grade for us. The other two it remains to be seen

Hibs youngsters have been in great form and face Aberdeen on Tuesday (26 April, 2022 - 7pm kick-off) evening.

Yes missed 2 penalties, one over the bar and one saved, also hit the post and hit the bar. By far the better team but lacked the cutting edge. Highlight for me was Gareth offering an Aberdeen fan a square go.

The game got a bit heated at times with the ref maybe out his depth, showed plenty cards during the game along with at yellow for Barry Robson (their head coach) and then a red for Scott Anderson (asst coach). He also awarded a pen to Aberdeen but was overruled by his linesman.
Hibs have now planed an extra game, one of the backlog, which is to be played at East Mains on Sunday 8th May, that means 5 games in 11 days.

Just looking at the goals against, our defence seems to be way better than the rest of the league. (Goals for is decent, especially considering the games in hand, but not miles ahead of rivals).
Can any of the folk that watch them comment on why that is? Better organised? Stand-out players?

That is interesting- the forward players are the ones we’ve been hearing a lot of shouts about getting them in the first team but the defenders on paper have been the ones performing above average.

Who are the stand outs from the u18s? Young, Laidlaw & O’Connor get most of the attention but is that because they’re forwards and scoring goals?
Who are the players with a chance of making it at Hibs?

The ones that stand out for me (not saying anything against the rest) Murray Johnson in goal, Defenders Mackenzie Weir, Oscar Macintyre and Kanayo Magwa, Mid' Murray Aitken and Robbie Hamilton plus Malik Zaid. I am sure that they will all make it in the game with maybe 3 or 4 of those getting into the first team squad, and then there is the forwards as well.

Exciting times, I know they are fighting for the league but I hope we use these last few league games to blood some of them into the first team. It was the post-split dead rubbers in 2003 that saw the likes of Thomson, Brown, Whitts and Riordan establish themselves in the team.

For me, in the last 3 games the number 4 Blaney? has been the stand out and the big centre half Weir has been solid. Magwa hasn't put a foot wrong and has a great range of passing. Middle to front we've had lots of the ball but maybe just need 10% more from them all and a wee break here and there. Laidlaw obviously has talent but he's been getting involved recently and picking up silly bookings. They're a good side though, hopefully get the league sewn up to make up for the dissapointing Cup defeat.

Tuned in to the last 15 mins of the Youth Cup Final last night. That's how bad the options on the box were. Was fiddling on my phone most of the time but not so much that I didn't hear the commentator say The The Hun Youths were heading for a cup and league double. I hadn't checked our own U18s progress for a couple of weeks but I thought they must have had a complete meltdown for him to say that. 5 mins later he says The The Hun Youth are two points clear of Hibs who have FIVE games in hand (my emphasis). Aye cup and league double right enough ya blue nosed ****.

If/when these young lads wrap up the title they deserve to play a game at ER with a trophy presentation at the end, give us at least something to cheer about this season. Open up the West, free to enter or at least kids free with a few quid for adults to cover costs, open up hospitality for those that might want a few beers and make a day of it. Maybe a 1st team squad player meet/great before the game to help get people along……my daughters would come just to get their photo with Scott Allan😂 Give us some feel good factor heading into the summer.

Not really, know Garry from years ago through the bowls and football.

Not all games expected to be concluded this season as there is not enough available days left in the season.
Our last game of the season is currently away against Hearts on the 13th May. However, the game away to Rangers has still not been scheduled but if the league is still undecided we may end up having to play the Rangers game on the 17th May.
Let’s just hope it is done an dusted and Hearts have to applaud us out as champion at the Oriam on the 13th.

That looks to make sense, Rangers play that other lot on Friday at the Rangers training ground, their next scheduled game is the next Friday against Motherwell away, they still have two games to arrange (if they go ahead), Hamilton and ourselves.
We play Aberdeen tonight (away), Celtic at home on Friday, Motherwell on Sunday, Dundee Utd on Tuesday, all at home, the only other game currently scheduled is Hearts on the 13th at the Oriam.
So we need to keep winning and hope Hearts at least draw or beat Rangers and there maybe no need to play outstanding games, if we win our games it is academic, however there are still a lot of ifs and buts.
The players break up for the season on the 17/18th so it all has to be concluded by then.

Real shame they aren’t playing these games at Easter rd. prob get more fans the first team right now.
Apologies, I'm sure it's been asked before but how do you find results, tables etc. I've looked at SPFL and SFA in vain.
I'm wondering if it's possible if young guys can wrap up league in next week or so, could they possibly play final home fixture at ER with free attendance? That would be a boost for us all!

That would be great for us but it's what is best for the team that is the priority. Playing at ER might add pressure or just upset the routine of playing at East Mains. So get the league won first I say, then if possible play at ER. Mind, given how short a window they have to do essential work on the pitch, whatever is planned will probably already be due to start as soon as the St Johnstone game is over. on Sunday 15th.

The results and league are not officially published on-line, I have been keeping a spreadsheet of my own but it can be a bit tricky to keep up will all the results over the season. A few of the 9 teams involved do U18s stuff on their websites, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd are the best but others don’t even have any acknowledgment that these games and teams exist, Celtic being a prime example.
I do programs for all the Hibs Under 18s games and it can be a real pain just trying to find out the eligible players for each club. One of the ways of keeping updated with results etc is via fans of these teams on Twitter.
We only have four games scheduled left to play as the players beak-up on the 17/18 May, hopefully we get the results to take care of the league.
Just a correction on fixtures, the Dundee United game on the 10th will be in Dundee, not heard of the kick-off time as yet but the First team are also playing Dundee that evening so it might be an afternoon kick-off.

No because its just a punters own twitter page he keeps updated once the games have been played as he goes to a lot of the Rangers academy and 'B' games.
Assume you mean 'not' publicised. I couldn't find anything on the SFA sited with info on this at all. Assume because its a development league and fixtures can change on discussion between teams.
I think you have to remember how cancellations have effected the league. some of these young men have been playing/training since last July & they need a break. don't suspect this will be a problem next season

Oh the SFA have a whole section on the CAS Elite teams, it was last updated pre-COVID, nothing since then. It really should be down to them to update this as this is their "Elite" academy league, it is their baby and at the moment it looks like they have abandoned it. This is their fixture/results section for the Elite CAS league here, there isn't even an option for the league table and the last result posted was from March 2020
https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/performance/club-academy-scotland/results/?type=fixtures
As you say we will need to rely on punters themselves to provide info or Aberdeen, the huns and Dundee Utd all have sections on their CAS Elite teams, Hibs don't!

There’s a Hibs play on the pitch event on Tuesday 17th so if it is being dug up feasibly the earliest that would happen would be the Wed. So there would be a couple of days at least after the Saints game to make it happen if they wanted to.

The game on Friday the 13th is a 19:30 k/o at the Oriam. (we still have another game to play against team at HTC, not yet arranged but they only have these two games left, so I think we should keep them waiting until the end of the month).
The game a week on Tuesday 17th is at HTC against Motherwell with a 19:30 k/o.
The games on the 20th, 24th and 27th are still to be arranged.
Meanwhile Rangers will play Hamilton on the 10th at home, they then play Motherwell on the 13th. Their only remaining game is still to be arranged and is against us at Rangers Training Ground. (Should we win on Tuesday and Friday and they do not take all 6 points in their games, we may not have to play them).
Just a reminder of our outstanding games still to be arranged are - Home to Dundee Utd & Hearts and Away to Rangers & Motherwell.
We need just 9 points from our remaining 7 games, but given our goal difference of plus 14 on Rangers, 8 points would most likely be enough.

They may have been 'B' team players but they would be young ones as you will see from the team sheet. Someone at the game was talking to one of the Celtic player's mothers and she said that she did not recoginse many of his teammates.

What venue is the game in Dundee?
How are we there so many games left outstanding for us and others?
