Brilliant, the ****e master general
jury took their time though
arrogant git... she thought she was a lawyer
Maxwell declined to give evidence at her trial, saying: 'The government has not proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt so there is no reason to testify'

Peculiar from BBC news yesterday. They give prime billing to Alan Dershowitz, who is himself accused in a civil case of abusing Giuffre, and who also acted as Epstein’s defence attorney  Dershowitz uses the opportunity to cast doubt on the courts verdict and throw doubt on Giuffres credibility. (Dershowitz was also tweeting about recently passed away Desmond Tutu as being an anti semite, shows you the kind of ****bag he is).
He’s also given the airtime by the interviewer that the verdict against Maxwell actually weakens the case against Prince Andrew. A bizarre piece of logic which doesn’t get challenged.
There’s absolutely no doubt that Maxwell has the power to bring down some very powerful people.

It might be if she’s going down for the rest of her life she might have nothing left to lose. From her statements she seems to have thought she was untouchable and above the law, which you see again and again from abusers. I wonder if the prosecutors and police know 100% which powerful people she has incriminating stuff on, or even if they don’t know 100%, whether they will offer her immunity and protection in jail if she cooperates as a gamble to catch some bigger fish?

It’s one of the weirdest interviews I can remember. A simple google search would tell you the man was allegedly part of the whole paedophile network that the whole case was about. It’s what I did because I’d never heard of him.
I don’t know what’s worse, that the editors don’t check who they’re interviewing these days, or that they knew but thought they’d just do it regardless because of their editorial agenda of going easy on *alleged* perverted deviant rapery royals.

I saw some good analysis of the BBC’s analysis yesterday…Still calling the victims ‘accusers’ not ‘victims’ and talking about the ‘accusers who brought down wealthy socialite’ , not ‘victims in legal triumph against paedophile ring’ or anything that is actually representative. It’s like the entitled ****ers learnt nothing from the Saville experience.
Worth repeating also that only 1 woman has been brought to justice in what is alleged to be a paedophilic sex ring run by some of the worlds most powerful men.

Legal costs will probably come from the sovereign grant. Called 'indefensible' by Republic, the SG was a George Osborne piece of legislation. It gave £34 million from the great unwashed (ie-you and me) every year for the Royal Family's official duties in its first year, 2013. Its gone up year on year mysteriously and now stands at £120million. (thats quite an annual rate of increase, i suspect Incapacity Benefit has seen similar increases in that time to be fair). If that's not enough, they could use some of HM queens own private wealth of £500 million, on top of total assets of £28billion.

It’s a civil action. Cash is the goal. It just depends on what figure they land on.

I always thought it was a strange legal argument to make;
Defence: 'My client cannot be prosecuted for being a nonce, because of a previous financial settlement reached between a nonce and his victims that protects nonce and any other nonces working in cahoots with said nonce from future legal interventions'.
Obvious Response: 'If your client isn't a nonce, why would he be given any protection by the above ruling in the first place?'

The Queen is supposed to be in overall charge but she let Bodger Johnson lie to her then make her sit on her own at her husband’s funeral as he was hosting piss ups at No10.
She’s Johnson bitch.
She is weak and irrelevant.

There was a US lawyer on newsnight the other night. Apparently she wants a jury trial and the overwhelming likelihood is that means she'd get one whether he likes it or not. Hence it would look really bad if he asked to *not* have one.
The consensus from every lawyer prepared to comment on this seems to be he really desperately needs to get a settlement.

Don’t know about America but civil cases in the UK there is normally a list of question for the jury to decide on the balance of probabilities…the more questions that agree with the plaintiff the more money that can be awarded.

There is no "guilty" here.
The level of proof required in a civil case is lower than in a criminal one. So there would probably need to be more evidence of actual crime.....

Obviously the police on both sides of the Atlantic don’t have enough evidence to reach the threshold of a criminal charge, so far all I have seen is a photo and there is an allegation. Had there been a Civil Hearing then the evidence from both sides would have been heard in open court and evidence which could not be used in a criminal trial can be used in Civil Court. I'm going to say she doesn't. For most of her life using the facilities when she's out and about, shaking hands and waving at subjects, would have required the production of a metal token with an ancestor's head on it, and it's well known that the queen doesn't carry money. That can only be because she never goes.

I saw Jay Kay out of Jamiroquai hanging his head out of a taxi like that in Ibiza one time, with his big animal skin hat on. I don't think his is real animal skin. Too big for the cab so he hung his head out. Just like the metal stick.

Chuck is trying not look at it. His laddie, who is also in the queue for a shot off it, looks like he doesn't want a go on it at all.
I don't think Jay Kay's hat is worth 4-5 bil, probably get fifty thou though.
All the (lying) Tory peeps must love all this. It's like a toffs version of panto really, without the jokes, fun, laughs, snacks, sing song, warmth and feeling of festive wellbeing, obvs.
https://twitter.com/BBCS_Events/status/1183693973791137792?t=3JBEV_4bL-XHZI4aPovFQQ&s=19
So given all the ceremony, symbolism and "tradition" that's goes down with this gig, the metal hat, the one on the cushion, has "promised" to us, it's subjects, that it will "help ease the cost of living crisis.
We'll it's surrounded by people in animal skins, people who makes animal noises on a Wednesday, the blokes who dress as wizards and the son and grandson, the sons' laddie, of the lady who is allowed to wear it, so it's hardly going to lie is it?
All this is making me think maybe jkays hat might sort something out for us, like Theedge and Bonos going to sing in that tram stop the other day. Probably won't though.

Some of the ladies in my office are having a garden party for the jubilee. Everyone is to wear red, white and blue  I was asked (just out of politeness I think as I'm the only man office based so I think they felt obliged rather than really wanting me there). I politely declined and then got the 3rd degree about why not, what was I doing for the jubilee instead etc etc. I explained, again calmly and politely, that I'm a republican so would be doing nothing for the jubilee. They already think I'm a bit odd in my politics, largely because I'm quite openly left wing and don't just nod my head and agree with the Daily Mail editorials that pass as opinion, but this tipped them all over the edge. You would have thought I'd decided to empty my bowels in the middle of the office with the looks of disgust I got.

I quite enjoyed basking in the almost open hostility that followed for a fairly lengthy spell afterwards. The last jubilee party organised in our street had a compulsory feel to it, with one particular person taking on the Hyacinth Bucket role and turning up at the door several times to verify we were attending, what we were bringing etc.
I politely wished them well but explained my republican leanings and would not be taking part, it quickly became a bit hostile and I was told the street would be closed and as we were one of a few houses in a particular position in the street, lay byes and driveways might be blocked .
We were pretty much treated like pariahs for a couple of days until we got speaking with a few other neighbours and found that the uptake was likely to be less than half the street and the "organiser" had pissed more than a few off.
We just put our cars in the street the night before and got on with our lives.

Haha brilliant who was it getting sent to, the bairns.
Miss you Diana doll, one in a million hen. Will raise a wee glass tonight.
One of them was going down to London for the funeral and she was absolutely livid. I don't remember her speaking to me ever after that.
Her husband worked there as well and I was hoping he'd have a go at me.

We have a male version of Hyacinth Bucket in the cul-de-sac. Home made leaflets through the door, house calls and finally caught me in the garden over the fence. The conversation as follows:
Neighbour: Are you coming to the street party?
Me: No, no thank you.
Neighbour: Can I ask why you're not interested?
Me: It's mainly because I hate the f*****g royal family and everything they stand for.
Neighbour: Oh I see.
Hasn't spoken to me since.

I'm honestly convinced a huge chunk of the UK population was impacted by a collective insanity when Diana died and many have never really recovered from it. It might even be heridtary.

I was down in London the week after she died at a conference, staying near Kensington Gardens. The whole place was knee deep in dead flowers, acres and acres of them. And soft toys. And the poetry, dear god, the poetry ... :bitchy:

There's something about military veterans that makes them go all sentimental about their time serving "the boss". I was a Republican before, during and after my time in the military and it's only now I'm witnessing any kind of animosity towards my Republican beliefs. Any mention of a royal visit or occasion would strike the fear of God into any serving soldier as it meant weeks of jiff job preparations and being ****ed about from dusk till dawn. Listening to some of them now you'd think the only reason they joined was to serve the Queen rather than just escape the ****hole they grew up in. It's just so easy to wind them up and get them mouth frothing apoplectic.

The love some people have is bizarre for old wrinkly. There was a boy in the boozer who was pretty decent guy and a hibby. But I remember him saying to me after taking the piss out of her maj. "I really like you mate, but if you tried to hurt the queen in any way, I'd do everything I could to hurt you". 😆 aye no bother you fat old tart I'll keep it in mind if the three of us are together.

My brother’s in the Navy. We get on really well but our politics are subtly different.
Every Christmas he makes a point of going through to see “what the boss has to say” when chief parasite says her piece mid afternoon.
I went down to Dartmouth for his passing out parade a few years back. There was a church service bit where everyone had to stand and sing God Save the Queen. It’s probably as uncomfortable and out of place as I’ve ever felt, although he found my discomfort incredibly entertaining.
Funnily enough he’s handed in his notice and he’ll leave next year. One of the main reasons is that he’s found his political beliefs change over the years and he’s finding it difficult to reconcile his evolving beliefs with being an imperial stormtrooper.
He’s a good lad really.

Will the Huns stick by the Royals/Charles after auld Lizzie has snuffed it? I don’t think they will.
Will the Huns stick by the Royals/Charles after auld Lizzie has snuffed it? I don’t think they will.Do you think there is any rationale among the vast majority of them.
Liz handed Scotland quite the insult when she became Elizabeth the "Second" and tipped up at St Giles to receive the Scottish crown in an overcoat carrying a handbag, they didn't baulk at that.

Bristol pubs announce 'F*** the Jubilee' three day punk festival - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) (https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/whats-on/bristol-pubs-announce-f-jubilee-7087590?fbclid=IwAR2trG-w2U1Y-TfvgFWyNq6sb_gnbtz-Qpd0XLptfNXtOc20-FhhNuyvyaU)
While much of the UK will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, people in one corner of Bristol will be holding an alternative event entitled ‘F*** The Jubilee’.
The festival event takes place across three different pub venues on three different days and evenings in Easton from Thursday June 2 to Saturday June 4. The three-day festival kicks off (https://fb.me/e/1HuV3tFK8) at the Lion pub on the Thursday, with punk bands including Social Experiment, Drunken Marksman and Mutilated State.
On the Friday, the Easton Punk Festival moves to the Chelsea Inn, where Disorder, Money and Cocaine are performing. And on the Saturday, there’s an ‘all-dayer’ at The Plough, from 4pm to 2am with DJs and bands and music acts from the Rita Lynch Band to Kiss Me Killer and Hierarchy.
The Easton Punk Festival follows in a long tradition of punk protesting against the celebrations of monarchy. The Queen’s Silver Jubilee was marked by the release of The Sex Pistols’ alternative national anthem God Save The Queen, complete with an image of Queen Elizabeth with her nose pierced.

We've been informed by the bairns nursery that they will be having a jubilee garden party. The kids should dress up and there will be bunting and songs and so on.
I want to keep my daughter off. Of course it's just a party really but it starts an association at an early age that the royals are something to be feted and celebrated. Apparently I'm being unreasonable though and it's not fair to make her miss a party with her friends.
