I think this would only happen if there was something holding up the final registration.
No matter how the club like to manage the output of signing news I'd be shocked if they viewed it as a higher priority than first team training.

Really hope this one happens - we benefited hugely last year from being able to threaten goals in a number of ways.
Adding a good free kick taker would put a lovely green cherry on the top of that ;)

When I bought a house there was a contract of sale, a willing buyer (me) and a willing seller. And it still took quite a few weeks.

The fact that we have spoken to Mallan and apparently agreed a deal means we must have struck a deal with his club.

So the only issues could be players agent trying to get payoff agreed.
Or
Players agent Trying to get him to speak to others.
Or
None of these and he will be announced tomorrow.

Maybe we just wanted to see what the draw was for Europe first and if we think we can negotiate the first two games. That would give the club more capital albeit only if we win [emoji38]

There are genuinely hundreds of possible reasons including some that haven't yet been thought of! The person talking about buying & selling a house is probably the closest analogy, certainly in England. I bought & sold in England once, it took 8 months & all my friends congratulated me on being so quick! I was peripherally involved in some transfers many years ago, before agents arrived & doubled the complexities. I remember one transfer almost falling through because the wife of the player didn't like the curtains in the temporary accommodation. You start listing the possible reasons Cat & I'll spell you in a few hours. Keep up the good work.

Posted a while back we were interested and that he was keen to come. I was told back then not to post anymore as Barnsley didn’t want this out.

Now I can say that Hibs have apparently agreed to bring him to ER. Source is VERY good so let’s hope it’s near done as he’d be brillant.

Nearly 40 years ago, 2 Hibs legends were heavily involved in the transfer of a Scottish internationalist, (& future Hibby) to a top English club. Other than transfers involving themselves, & they were limited, these players had no experience whatsoever of how to negotiate. There could actually be a comedy book/screenplay written about their amateurish efforts which almost derailed things but eventually the transfer was successfully concluded. Ironically it's now the almost over professionalism & zealous efforts of agents which can cause complications. If both parties want it however it usually happens.

The Board have made it clear we want to continue building on the progress made last season so I expect Quality signings
With Lennon stating he is targeting the group stages of Europe I think that has raised expectations and clearly the squad as is Wouldn't achieve that
But let's see where we are by the time of the First European tie and then again for the tie v Greek Team as I would expect us to progress against a team from the Faroe Islands

Depends what “cheap” is. They paid 300k for him so we’re probably looking at around about the same amount, unless they accept add-ons or a really good sell on fee.

TC stated that Mallan was happy with our offer and it's our offer to Barnsley which may be holding things up, we'll get him whether we offer more cash or maybe a higher sell on fee but Barnsley will want to recoup as much as possible of their investment in him.

He 100% is from what I’m told. I don’t know though if there is a problem I was only going with what someone else had posted about them not agreeing a fee. Far as I know it’s all going ahead either way.

I can see this one going through for an undisclosed fee. Clubs can write off fees here and there because not every player is a success and often the end point that gets reported in the newspapers is as much about not backing down or losing face.

I thought we did this as standard now. Pretty sure if we're selling or bringing someone in, the fee (if one is involved) is always undisclosed.
