Yeah it's going to be over two days, filmed at their performance centre, I think it would've been best to postpone it.

I listen to Jim Cornette's podcast and he had a good idea that Summerslam should just be this year's Wrestlemania, but given how the situation is going in the US having crowds at Summerslam could be in doubt also.

Yeah I believe it's just US figures, Fox have thrown their weight behind it since it moved to them over in the US but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

I don't think we'll see any improvements until Vince let's go of control and Triple H takes over creatively.

The amount of stars being created in NXT and then buried within weeks of arriving at Raw or SmackDown is beyond a joke now

It was very entertaining but with every love in the world, it wasn't a match. Shot in a way that they could do multiple takes if they needed, no real wrestling as such in it and if you were to ask Taker to do a match in front of a live crowd it'd be every bit as bad as he's been in recent times.

In hindsight, that Wrestlemania was far better than it deserved to be given the circumstances. The Bone Yard match and the Firefly Funhouse Match made use of the lack of crowd and were brilliant and Drew managed to make his victory feel emotional despite not having a crowd which is a sign of a really talented performer. Those three were the definite upsides, the downsides being that the Edge vs Orton match sucked (Orton hasn't been up to much since 2005 IMO), the belt being put on Braun felt two years too late and the whole thing about no fans in the first place.

Still, I don't think you could say it's the worst Wrestlemania that there's been. Full credit to them for that.

I think Aew are getting in older names to raise their profile but also to get the younger guys over. They've done it with Jake Roberts and Taz in managerial roles and obviously with Chris Jericho and MJF. Perhaps Sting's role will be similar.

I don't really watch wrestling these days but find the emergence of AEW interesting enough. However, I remember watching Sting as a 10 year old in 1990 - before he was 'crow Sting' - and don't mind admitting I got goose bumps watching his appearance 30 years later.

Of course entrance video and cracking theme tune helped!

I just think a PPV should be elevated a bit more - have Drew win and end the show there, and on Raw the following night have him do a speech about being battered and bruised but going to WM, then Lashley attacks and Miz wins it on Raw if you really want to do that.

It's all the result of months of bad short term booking and Vince's lack of vision. Less than a year ago Otis was the hottest thing since sliced bread in his eyes but it became apparent really quickly that he's hugely limited so they needed to find a way to get it off of him. There's a real lack of convincing heels on Raw (or there was back then) so The Miz gets the briefcase. They then spend ages booking Miz in absolutely terrible segments that make him look weak and by the time the "road to Wrestlemania" rolls around, they panic and realise they need to do something with the briefcase. You then end up with a lower midcarder as WWE Champion ten years past his best.

I don't care if he drops it to Lashley tonight or at Fastlane as I don't want to watch that match. Several rapid title changes between midcarders cheapens the belt like in the dying days of WCW. Lashey vs Drew I could get behind but it's such a lethargic, long winded way to get to that match.

Bray has been treated poorly for a long time he was hugely over but barely won a match when it meant something really made it tougher for him to continue as the ‘feared’ superstar when he never won on the big stage.

I thought the wyatt family gimmick was brilliant at the time but the feud with Orton went on far far too long, he should have been the guy to finish taker and then takeover the job he done for so long as the guy no one understood but everyone feared.

I’m on the side of poor creative, brays characters have been about fears and scares it’s hard to be scared of someone who doesn’t win they needed to push him big, put a title on him and have him dominate a while, they could and should have tied it in with taker retiring a sort of passing of the torch.
He was a big star for the fans and a big merch seller a proper big run upto a wrestlemania wouldn’t have harmed anyone before dropping the title to a Roman reigns/brock lesnar.

Soon as Roman said that he wouldn't return I immediately thought it was a double bluff and Cena is going over. It wouldn't shock me one bit.

I really don't understand why Vince is obsessed in taking talent that is clearly over with the fans and squashing them as much as possible.

The titles really don't mean that much if Goldberg can waltz up and get a shot whenever he wants or if Becky Lynch can decide she gets a title shot there and then and squashes someone we've been asked to invest in and get behind within a minute. They're great at creating moments, but terrible at creating the story that binds it all together and gives it credibility.

I think it's going to be huge. Especially with who is definitely arriving, but I don't think he'll be the only debut.

My only issue is a few of the matches don't have much of a story behind them. Punk v allin, Baker v statlander and micro v Kingston have all sort of been chucked together over the last 2/3 weeks.

That being said, I'd imagine bucks v lucha bros is going to be worth the £20 alone.

It’s not the most obvious thing to talk about, but putting Paul Wight in between Punk and the main event was genius. It gave the crowd a five minute breather so they were still red hot and not burnt out for the main event and the debuts.

It’s just great understanding of how a PPV needs to flow.

Absolutely. Weeks of Big E sneaking about Paul Heyman and they suddenly go "hey he's on RAW to cash in". Unless this is so they can have Lashley move to Smackdown to face Lesnar before it's too late it's a waste.

Expect to see McIntyre back in the title scene ASAP or Lashley regain within a couple of weeks.

I'm expecting a 20 minute time limit draw tbh. Don't see how omega can win without cutting off danielson's momentum and don't see how danielson can win without making kenny look weak.
