If this is true then we have members of Police Scotland acting out of nothIng more than spite. It's certainly not in the public interest to spend money on cases like this.

Agreed.

No I don't. And I'm not. I wanted to see the team parading the cup round Hampden to SOL. That hope disappeared when thousands went on the pitch sadly.

:agree: me too.

And Warburton being interviewed and having to explain how come his players bottled it so badly. And explain how they really played Hibs off the park and how it all wasnae fair and could his players not just have the Cup because it's theirs really ....

And Rangers players interviewed too.

The celebrations after the League Cup Final in 2007 were who it should have been.

The police messed it up, but that wouldn't have mattered if the Hibs fans had behaved themselves.

I think it's fair to say that the majority of police officers in the West of Scotland are of the SEVCO persuasion. Certainly any I've spoken to in the Lanarkshire area.

Special circumstances, m lud.

The ceremonies that should have followed the final whistle were cancelled out of spite, and I refuse to let it bother me.

The vast majority were acting out of exuberance. The media shaming that followed was symptomatic, sadly, of the way the media works.

I think there have been 100 arrests in total? That I can believe. If it keeps going, it looks like a witch hunt.

I agree this has gotten out of hand and is starting to seem like a vendetta from Sevco Huns in the Glasgow polis who can't let go of May events, and are also further incentivised by the OT possibilities. If it continues, the supporters reps should be petitioning local politicians to ask questions about the scope and costs of these investigations.

Seems crazy to be spending so much public money on a petty witch hunt when Police budgets are stretched, and it's now becoming indicative of a more sinister agenda.

Quite. The violence lasted all of five minutes and involved a tiny proportion of the crowd. There are Scottish MPs and senior lawyers with Wembley turf from 77. It would be the height of hypocrisy for these people to pursue properly exuberant Hibs fans for a piece of pitch or a raised t-shirt on the orders of the Glasgow polis.

Anyone getting a banning order without due process should take it to court. It will become too difficult for the authorities to pursue one by one.

Yes, and probably pointless as most people are bored with the story now.

One saving grace?

If it's not radges and just tourists who crossed the halfway line, I dont see them flogging this dead horse for long. A few attempts and no arrests will kill it stone dead.

I am going to drop my MSP a quick note and ask how can this be in the public's interest to pursue this when Police budgets are being cut - this whole investigation must be running into hundreds of thousands of pounds now which frankly is a disgrace. Yes the people guilty or violence and criminal damage (I am not talking about taking some turf) should be pursued but this is ridiculous now and clearly there is some other kind of agenda at play.

I personally think they are just plucking images out the air now, its all a hysterical pile of pish. Nobody was hurt well except the whole Rangers team. Have the Police not got more stuff to do than trawl through the footage hoping to find out if somebody ran about doing next to FA.

Any fan that went on and caused trouble by fighting with other fans (losers who should have been on their way home) should quite rightly have been found and dealt with appropriately. However, this is now getting ridiculous and a complete waste of police time and money.

For anyone thats wanting a shocking surprise, a certain waste of space news paper has published the faces on Facebook allowing for a swarm of keyboard hardmen to give unchecked abuse to strangers.

They have spent months chasing people, its quite a ridicoulas waste of money, NOW had the Glesga polis put in as much effort into chasing down folk singing sectarian songs at the sellik v huns bigot fest they would be talking thousands of arrests. If they are serious with stamping sectarianism out theres loads and f,n loads of camera footage for them to peruse, plus, maybe the polis could ask the tv why they turned the microphones around the pitch down at certain times during the game. Talk about being treated differently.

The rangers failed to lose their first ever Scottish Cup final in that match, nor were any of their players thrashed to within an inch of their life, so no public interest event for them to report on.

They'll understandably be scared to out the attackers in case they proved to be the much feared, new and violent Scottish cup supporters or West of Scotland FC fans that these papers did such a fearless job exposing after Hibs beat the rangers in the Scottish Cup final.
