Williams is gone and Sean just text me to say he's out... Butcher better have a plan...
Pretty sure he will if he is releasing so many players.
Maybe the plan is to get players in who will work for him and get on with the job in hand.
Footballs football. I'm not buying this diffit rent club nonsense. You can either do it or not do it. The mentality of the players has to be right. Plainly the players were not up to it. It's up to Butcher and his team to identify the players to get us playing winning football and get us back up. You can be the best man manager in the world but the men have to have the right mentality. Too many players without that aided and abetted by some undermining the team spirits always a recipe for disaster. Pop in only one chance to do anything about it in January with no cash it was always gonna be close. A clear out now followed by everyone pulling together will be a start.
Totally agree. See a number of posts expressing sympathy because this player and that player has gone. Frankly a lot of this shoulsd have happened after the first Malmo game, since then the majority have had chance after chance, didnt take it so from my point of view good bye.
As for the hoof ball criticism I cant remember ICT being accused of it during Butcher's time there, what I do think is we had 2 centre backs playing yesterday of limited ability who resorted to a lump up the park and based on yesterdays performance they couldn't even execute decent hoof ball.

We don't actually know who this supposed 50% cut applies to. If it was everyone with a contract then you'd need to add Harris, Stanton, Forster and Hanlon.
But Robertson simply saying he has another year indicates not everyone is looking at a cut.

I'm not in the Butcher fan club by the way. I'm just at a loss to see what's going wrong. I don't believe that anyone (never mind someone whos played at the highest level) would set up a team to go out and hoooooof the ball to nobody every-time they get near it, even when they're not under much pressure.
It's baffling it really is. But some on here think it's just simply the players fault when it's both them and management.

Without details that makes this meaningful for any of us "not in the know" this is surely a waste of your time SH as you are only talking to yourself about stuff that you may have knowledge of and even then you are talking in a fairly "wooly" way! :agree:
I'm going by what I see on match days as I know about that and Butcher and Malpas have been poor and totally innefective in management of the players at Hibs and are at the root cause of the club having to perform in the Championship (jeez that name even makes sound as though it is a good quality of football too!)!
Fair doo's, i have all day to post my views, if Butcher goes tomorrow then i will lose no sleep over it, i just don't think he will imo. :aok:
I watched a number of games in the championship last season, not a pretty place to be and yes some teams like to get the ball down and play football, they just aren't very good at it, the most important thing to have in that league is good goal scorers who will bag you 20+ goals in a season and we have a chance of coming straight back up. :agree:

Totally agree with getting rid of the dross that, imho, actively played to get us relegated. If true TB told them in January who wasn't being kept on, then how many of them did we see knock their pans in to interest other clubs ? - NONE !!.
However, my biggest worry for the future is no matter who we now bring in, Hibs must find out the reason why, after the initial 5/6 months, reasonably decent players who arrive at ER lose interest and go into some sort of lethargic malaise - Liam Craig being a typical example. Played well at St.Johnstone and for us when he first arrived - then just turned into a player who looked totally disinterested and couldn't give a flying-one !. It's not just him, and nor is it TB's fault - it's been happening ever since 'Collins-gate' and the phrase 'Player-power' became associated with Hibs.

That's fair enough TC, it's a Hibs forum not everyone will agree with each other, I'm of the opinion it is the players fault and yes Butcher has to take some of the blame for that, even if we stayed up this was going to happen today with the players, it should come as no shock to anyone that we are seeing a cull at the club.

Yep fully agree that the top end has failed for to many years and we are getting exactly what we deserve.
It's bad for us fans but it's no shock. The clear out was always happening every player knew it. As for sacking, if he walked which I wish he would it would save us money.

Bit surprised that some people are mourning the loss of the Mayburys and Stevenson etc.
Also that we still have posters saying we need to "splash the cash". We are *****ed, relegation will have a massive impact on an already tight budget. However if there is any positive for me, it would be we get rid of all these journeymen who have been bleeding us dry and get back to a young hungry team. If we had fielded our youth team this year I doubt results would have been any worse.
It has to be a young team next year, with a few players bought in. Booth, Black, Forster, Hanlon, Stanton, Harris, Handling, that's likely the nucleus of our team next year, that's the reality whether folk like it or not.
That's the way i see it too, youth and players that Butcher brings in over the summer.

It's baffling it really is. But some on here think it's just simply the players fault when it's both them and management.
Without doubt the players and the management team are to blame. But the management team includes Petrie and the board. That said, the problems run much deeper. There's a culture at our club in which second best is all too readily accepted.
We live off the crumbs of our infrequent success. Teams of mediocre talents come to Easter Road expecting to win. How else can we explain our terrible derby record - especially in the 80's - where one team wanted to win and the other was trying to avoid getting beat.
This ain't going to be a quick or easy fix. And it might actually get worst before it gets better. What is certain, though, is that we can have little faith in those currently at the helm putting things right.

You seriously expect Hibs players to be disciplined ?
Say it time and time and time again - after a really bad defeat players should not even contemplate social media to let things settle. Hugely emotive day and weeks ahead. Or use it like Maybury and Robertson, very sensibly and articulate.

So how come his record at Hibs is so utterly appalling? I don't give a toss about his record at Motherwell TBH.
His style of football is from about 50 years ago. Nelson & McGivern hoof it up to a wee "striker" like Heffernan or Cummings (that's if it doesn't end up in the stands) and watch the big defenders gobble them up? Who tells them to do that? Who has been watching that for weeks on end?
As I've posted elsewhere, Hamilton Accies passed his woeful team off the park yesterday playing a modern style of passing football. A 35 year old Jason Scotland ran us ragged all afternoon. Yet he it seems is being allowed to stay on as manager. I really fear for Hibs. He lost the dressing room from what I can gather. He has lost the fans too. I wonder how many will be back to ensure those "funds are made available".
I was replying to a post that said his record was awful at every club he's been at apart from one season at ICT, and that, IMO isn't true. And as far as yesterday goes, nothing will convince me that Butcher wanted them to play like that yesterday, they were dreadful in every department. It's as if they just ignored what he wanted them to do, they were like scared children and it was embarrassing to say the least. He was out on the touchline frantically waving them forward to no effect. I don't see how, if he wanted them to play hoofball, that he would be egging them all on to go forward. Nelson and McGivern were ****, totally agree with that, and they've been like that all season too, but for that result yesterday I blame the team. As far as 'losing the dressing-room' is concerned, well that seems to have been the case with at least five out of the last six managers, and at least four of them were managers I didn't want as Hibs manager anyway, although of course I still supported the team. Butcher will be the first one to bring in a virtually entire new team of players. If that doesn't work then, like most other people on this board, I would want him out, and quick. That's just my opinion of course, you have a different one and I respect that.

They do seem to know each other and FWIW that boy had a cheap dig at him but he needs to learn to either block these people or just come off Twitter, especially after yesterday
Knows me through mates, he was at the recent charity match I played in. I took no offence. Was just a cheap dog tbh I regret saying it purely because he's a Hibs fan too.
Ask him how many times he was out in George st before a game. Hes a wee ticket. Who'll do nothing in the game
From what I'm told by some, he always goes out drinking at every opportunity.
He obviously knows the guy if he knows where he works and the guy is constantly posting abuse at him. Him giving a wee bit of a banter comment back is the least of our problems
I usually stick up for him, it was a one off. Others took offence to it, I didn't.
To be fair it actually appears to be banter between mates with the leishthedevil guy but won't stop others jumping on the band wagon. Don't seen Danny having a go at anybody else.
I don't class him as a mate. He just sees me in his local tesco and was at the charity matches we've been playing to raise money for tesco's charity this year and last.

Hopefully he's being told tae **** off and Petrie's going with him. He's been gash with every club he's managed apart from one. He plays one up front with weak lightweight strikers, leaves the best passer at the club on the bench and brings in Danny ****ing Haynes into the biggest game of the season. I liked AM as a manager. He did a good job for Hibs in getting us to the SPL. At the moment we have a manager and there is no vacancy. I think TB needs a chance to bring in his players and then he can be fairly judged as a manager. The Hibs BODs have had a lot of chances and can be judged. Mr Petrie you need a new challenge and I am sure that you will find one. The relegation of our club is not one that should have taken place. We had a lot of chances to avoid relegation. STF you have done a great deal of good for our club and no words can express the gratitude that you have earned through your actions. This club needs funds to be spent to get us back in the SPL and keep us there. If you take the view that this can not be done with the present PSHs of the club then this club needs a new PSH who can make this happen. This is a dark day for our club, please bring the sunshine back to Leith.

I know you can prove anything with stats, but with Hanlon in the team we conceded 31 goals in 28 league games. 1.1 per game. Without Hanlon we conceded 20 goals in 10 league games. 2 per game. Considering we only averaged 0.8 goals per game, this difference is massive.
I think he has many faults, but he's by far the best of the centre back options we had this season. He'll be fine in the championship IMHO and others should be on their way well before him.

Not really. All he does is parrot back what the fishwives feed him. I'll never understand folk who get a perverse kick out of being seen as 'in the know'. Weird.
You're the boy with that small man syndrome, aren't you? Maybe try standing on a stool.
Do you think this kind of pish helps?
Five minutes ago you were telling anyone who would listen that 'Kenny' was desperate to come to ER and was sitting by the phone waiting on Butcher's call. Now, apparently, he doesn't rate Butcher and you're posting the supposed contents of a private conversation all over a public forum.
This kind of nonsense does Hibs no good. We need to empty all of the gossiping fishwives and treat anything posted on the internet with the contempt it deserves.
Why have a go at fans venting, it is not them that's let this club down in such horrendous circumstances. Try giving the abuse to those responsible, i.e. the arrogant, all knowing clown who has been charged with running Hibs & those that were employed to run and play in the first team, they have been a total embarrassment to the supporters of HFC.
AM ,was the last manager 2 bring in good players TTand MMcouldn,t spot a player why play nelson and his diddy mate
AM spotted one good player for every 5 he signed. That scatter gun approach is great if you a load of cash to hand out which we don't.

What bawhied said.
Would you rather just hear the good things?
To tell the truth I don't want to hear very much other than Hibs fans singing after a victory or three.
I certainly don't want to hear about Kenny Miller wanting to come one minute only for that to change that he only wants to come if the manager is gone and that weeks ago he though he would be going - in fact I'm not in the slighest bit interested in what kenny Miller has to say and don't want Kenny Miller any where near Hibs (your info is second hand btw as it's being filtered through you).
Would you rather we all backed Rod after everything?
Sorry but I don't know ehere you're coming from here. Can you point out where I said anything resembling that.
Would you rather burry our head in the sand like previous years?
I've never buried my head when it comes to Hibs and that's after supporting Hibs since 1968.
I'm surprised you're still here given you said you were giving up supporting Hibs if we went down, why aren't you burying your head in the sand?
FWIW I agree with Bobby Williamson in that internet chatterboxes are the worst thing has happened to football clubs in the last 20 years.
You might think writing up your ITK stuff on here is all fine and dandy but not everyone thinks that way and those who don't aren't necessarily burying their heads away.

Yep, can Lewis and it will be the first time in my 47 years following hibs where wearing the jersey means you are out. The boy has been let down by successive managers trading off his ability to play anywhere for the jersey. In other words he understands what we, the fans are about.

On the basis I believe he will turn it around, bring in decent players that will fight for promotion next season. It's my opinion deal with it.
I can deal with your opinion no bother as they are like ********s everybody has one.
To say it is fundamentally flawed is a huge understatement.
If you can point to one thing the dream team have accomplished in their time at ER I will be astonished.
They are:
Tactically useless
Football dinosaurs
Have the ability to demotivate an underperforming team and turn them into a shambles
Have alienated virtually all of their employees
Are arrogant beyond belief
There is not one single redeeming feature of their time at ER, not one
How you can blindly believe that they will turn it round is just beyond me, can you explain the basis of that belief as I may be missing something from their stellar tenure at ER that has led you to draw your conclusions
Their previous achievements don't support that assertion one little bit
As for their time at ICT. even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally
BTW this is my opinion so you to can deal with it.

No more money from me Petrie...
All the reason to invest. Slow ****ty start and it's an ever decreasing circle....down. They HAVE to get it right this window. One roll of the dice or we become the Dundee of Edinburgh.
Just pray that Butcher is up for this, because it looks like he is the Hibs manager going into 2014/2015.
Edit: spelling.

Glad I didn't invest money into a season ticket. **** off Petrie.
If he goes, I'll buy.

In a nut-shell.
Oh well you have your opinions I have mine. Just don't fire abuse at me (bawheid) thanks, it's a public forum remember. Please ignore my future "in the know" posts, cheers now.
Oh you say you agree with Williamson yet you yourself sign up and post on a social site! Can you see the irony there yeah?
If Jordon Forster can sort out enough of the issues in his game to be a guaranteed starting XI pick then he strikes me as captaincy material.
Maybe in future mate but not now.

Mmm let me see... "Get a chub on" liked that one btw
"Pish like this"
Calling me perverse because of I'm "in the know"
Why not just say normal things and keep it civil? The fact you are asking me to point this out to you rather worries me.

Glad he was booted then tbh. Boyd would be a good signing for anyone right now.

When you put it like that then yeah, it's not right. I apologise.
I just don't think posting stuff like that helps. I doubt Kenny Miller would go on record dissing Butcher so I don't see that he would be happy about it being posted here second hand.

Haha just a friendly debate!
Still waiting to hear what he says after showing him the error of his ways.

Apology accepted.
I've text him and told him what I posted. Just to make sure he wasn't pissed at me. His reply was a laughing face.
Maybe I'll keep the conversations off this in future. But I'll still post things I hear good or bad. That's what makes this forum IMO. The debates and opinions. We won't always agree with things but I'm sure you can see yourself you went off on one!
The "chub on" really did make me laugh btw and I'll be using that :D

nooooooo!! ;)

For what its worth I was told from someone who had played under Butcher that he was not a good man manager and his training methods were prehistoric.
Also that he would be a failure at Hibs.
All look to be spot on so far.

Not really. All he does is parrot back what the fishwives feed him. I'll never understand folk who get a perverse kick out of being seen as 'in the know'. Weird.
You're the boy with that small man syndrome, aren't you? Maybe try standing on a stool.
Just leave it. Why have a pop at someone because he got it slightly wrong. I'd rather the in the know posted stuff rather than being shot down by folk like you that could cause an argument in an empty hoose.

It's OK. They're all gay for each other now.

I've been going off on one since 6pm last night. I want what's best for the club - we all do.
I honestly believe we need to give a manager, any bloody manager, a run at things.

Dinny worry about it mate. I've decided to take a in the Know sabbatical from this site now, too many folk just happy to take a swipe, it's no worth it.
on a separate unrelated issei, it may come as a surprise to some but believe it or not Terry Butcher reads .net and other fans forums on a regular basis. Set up a user account terry and get involved.
Good at least he can see I'm still backing him then. In terry I trust.

It's cool bud it's all good. Posting things as I do I'm up to be shot down and sometimes whether the way the do it is wrong may have a point.
I'll still post anything i hear but I jumped to conclusions that Kenny would arrive no matter who was here. I didn't know he was banking on TB leaving.
Anyway it's all good.
