Like a heritage 3rd shirt.

Wear it at ER against Septic, really piss them off.

that would be brilliant. m y only hope for the new shirt is that we keep top bottle green. been a while since we had a purple away as well

I heard that the new shirt will be out very early June - from someone within the club

Considering its almost June now, they better get a move on

TBH I think our current top is as damn near perfection as possible! So as little deviation from that as possible please

Agree totally, if the sleeves were fully white then no complaints. But that oversized white bar at the bottem of the sleeve is horrible.

How would that look as a long sleeve ?! Bleh..

Not too fussed about Nike kits tbh, we'll only get the horrible cheap templates that they provide smaller teams.

The players would wear 'fan' edition shirts too unlike the better quality 'player edition' ones that the bigger teams can have.

sbell1875
29-05-2013, 10:37 PM
From the meaning of the word "template" would I be correct in assuming we have no way of editing the final design?

I ask because if we go with the Everton template from this year it is possible a long sleeved shirt would not have white sleeves which to me would be criminal.

I spotted this online and my immediate reaction was...wow.

He also said that Nike are basically the parent company of the people that make the designs and let them just use the logo basically, all we are really getting is a Nike logo on PONY quality gear. That being said, unless you support one of the European elite everyone is in the same boat. So can't really complain.

The re-branding of the club store is more intriguing, though... does this mean we'll be offered Tiger Woods golf shirts and the like at ER next season? What are the implications for leisure wear etc?

What are the implications for leisure wear etc?Even the already mentioned Everton don't get unique kits, so there's no way we will. You need to be a United or a City sized club to get that it seems. Doesn't mean that we haven't worked on the design as in modifying a template. I don't think Puma ever gave us a unique kit template and they still managed some decent efforts over their 4 years...

Happy to have changed from Puma, they had decent designs but the kits themselves were very poor quality in my opinion. I would have rather we went with someone like LCS again who actually provide specifically designed kits, but maybe this way is better financially for the club.

With Nike there seems to be a good chance that the kit will be a template that one of the bigger teams had the season before, so I suppose the Everton style kit is a possibility.

Are people really claiming Nike is ***** quality stuff and horrible gear? They make some of the best selling tops in the world, if it's good enough for Barca, Man Utd and Arsenal, then it's good enough for Hibs.

hibbeedavid

I hope is not based on the old Everton home kit, Dundee United had that kit last season too and it's based on an Arsenal kit from 2010! Really disappointed with Nike/ Just Sport the home kit will be standard fare, but it's the away kit I think will be poor given it won't contain any green unless its yellow as green isn't used as a second colour on any other template

Hibs will be able to specify the colours used in the kits rather than just ordering from a pre-set range and they will also be able to modify details such as giving us full white sleeves etc but based on one of the available templates being used by Nike this season.

We do not have the fanbase or brand power to get a bespoke designed strip unless we went with a smaller company like joma, lotto, kappa etc and even those companies tend to have templates also nowadays

When I think of Nike I am bored. Europeans rule the fashion world and the sportswear world. We are in Europe we should embrace whats on offer here.

Adidas has shamed itself with producing our neighbors top but they could have redeemed themselves. They have produced our best ever strips.

Can someone explain the thinking behind this as I've seen a few folk post similar now.

Given the size of our club and the fact that similar sized clubs like Dundee United and even larger clubs like Everton, Malaga and Athletic Bilbao are given teamwear kits as opposed to bespoke designs like Celtic, Man Utd, PSG and Arsenal etc get,

Many similar stature clubs have similar deals through Adidas and Puma where templates can be customised whereas with Nike teams don't usually get to customise the templates

Hibs strike new kit deal

Hibernian have signed a new four-year kit deal with Nike, the club have confirmed.

The American company replaces German sportswear manufacturer Puma and will supply all Hibs' first-team strips as well as training gear until 2017.

The new contract will begin with the unveiling of the team's new home kit on Friday, June 7.

Hibs chairman Rod Petrie said: "The run-up to a change of technical partner is always a demanding time for the club. Puma has served us well for four seasons, for which we thank them.

"Everyone at the club is excited about securing the number one global sportswear brand as our new technical partner for the next four years.

"Nike is synonymous with sporting excellence and has a rich heritage in providing the highest quality of products throughout professional sport.

"We have worked very closely with Nike on the designs for next season and I am sure the new kits, merchandise and the new look Hibernian Nike Clubstore will be well received by our supporters."

Simon Taylor of Nike added: "Nike are delighted to have signed a deal with Hibernian and look forward to supplying the club and its supporters with an exciting range of kits, training and leisurewear over the next four seasons.

"Hibernian are a club with a great tradition in Scottish football and it is a pleasure to welcome them into the Nike family in what will hopefully be a long and successful partnership."

Out of left field, but I noticed the Barca away strip from this season is part of the Nike Teamwear 2013/2014 range which will be used for smaller club strips.

So how about this as an away top...

I'm hoping we retain the bottle green with a retro look, but I'm not confident. This year's home kit is my favourite in my lifetime. I always like the yellow away strips e.g. this year's mustard third strip, and it will be interesting to see what Nike come up with. I hope they don't make a total mess of it.

If we were to have a green and white version of this then the competition for the all-time great shirt would close immediately. It's not evident from the picture but the material looks great and pretty heavy duty.

I'd even be cool with us playing shirts and skins this season if it meant I could buy a Hibs version of this next season!

I love the colour of the current strip but I've found that it tends to clash a wee bit with some of the darker strips in the league (the navy strips of Dundee and RC for example) so I wouldn't mind a change back to a lighter shade, emerald green was it? The paler green strips will always be synonymous to the Collins and Mowbray eras for me due to that being the generation I grew up watching, because of this I will always have time for the lighter colour, as I think it makes us stand out and reminds me of the attacking flair of 'the good old days.' :greengrin

A lot of the items available look quite similar for both clubs tbh. I think it looks different as City will have more say in the designs, and also the site advertising them is a lot nicer.

Also, £30-40 quid for training tops on the City website is outrageous!

The black strips are the worst we have ever had, they were done on the back of a fashion trend in football at the time. There must have been hundreds of teams with black change strips at the time. White, yes please, part of Hibs history. Purple, yes please, part of Hibs history preferably with white sleeves. Yellow not for me. Black also not for me

it'll look cheap and nasty if the badge isn't embroidered, which TQM alluded to a page or two back.

I dont think any Nike kits have got embroidered badges, Even Barca and Man City have got patches.

At least we might get some decent kids sizes with Nike. The full kit sold as one goes up to size 7/8 looking at other teams.

Last year with puma I had to buy it all seperately to fit a five year old and it cost a fortune. I'm sure there was also an age they simply didn't make kits for.

The purple away shirt has become something of a cult classic over the years amongst fans, but I just don't like the colour. All yellow for me, though the white with green sleeves idea could look superb if done well.

If we're going to have purple, I'd prefer it with white sleeves as per the Bukta late seventies kit.

If we were to have a green and white version of this then the competition for the all-time great shirt would close immediately. It's not evident from the picture but the material looks great and pretty heavy duty.

I'd even be cool with us playing shirts and skins this season if it meant I could buy a Hibs version of this next season!

Thankfully, we won't have something like this!
I think it's bloody awful, I've never liked the pinstripe trims. Thick collar & cuffs is the way!
The patch badge is even worse.

http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx309/HibernianFitbaClub/HibsCityHomeNike_zps4d7023b8.png

I prefer the big white collar one.
You might as well look at the past season or so if you're looking for possible Hibs shirts.
Nike have made some quality kits last season. Umbro was excellent under Nike too.

Even if we get stuck with a terrible Tottenham 'slope' design like Barça's gradient, at least Hearts will be worse off!
I know they're desperate to avoid liquidation, but sneaking Hibs' sleeves into the design won't give them Hibs' financial stability!

Ill pop down after work and have a wee look.

Just on the topic of the new Cardiff kit.

I've been a Cardiff fan all my life and this has been my first season away from home. The colour change to red was devastating last year but we were in effect blackmailed into it so no real choice in the matter.

This seasons kit with the 2 tone shorts is an embarrasment. The club have changed the shorts to black after a fan backlash and after a vote. We had black shorts last year so most went for that. Looks stupid though now because theres no black on the shirt this year, it's got white piping. What a disaster.

PerfectlyFranck

Someone mentioned Greece's new kit which looks like Everton's from 2012-13 without the white collar.
I like the thick cuffs but I'm not a fan of either of these kits - I don't like the 'armbands'.

Still, it's possible that we could get one of these next season or the season after!
