'The abolition of the 45pc rate had become a distraction from our mission to get Britain moving
- Truss
How does she propose to 'get Britain moving'. Does she not understand that people are skint? People are spending less simply because they have less. Many are terrified they may not be able to pay their energy bills or mortgage repayments or make ends meet generally. Where does 'growing the pie' (ridiculous term) stand with that and how do you get an economy on the move with people that are unable to move. This woman, apart from being a very nasty piece of work, is truly an idiot.

Deleted twitter on Friday night and life feels much better! I get updates on football and current affair exclusively from Hibs.net.
Sick of being on the rollercoaster driven by these clowns and a big part of the media.

For those no longer on Twitter, here's a photo of Tories discussing levelling up.

A far smarter person than me asked me if the Lord Deighton's untendered fast track to Covid supply riches was stage 1 of the great giveaway to selected friends, supporters, donators and occasionally their own families.
Stage 1 having dried up they moved onto the great support your struggling hedge funds plan. Won't be much whining about that at conference though.

Whilst it's good that they have reversed the top rate cut, I don't see how either of them can carry on in their positions.
They thought it was the right, and necessary, thing to do.
It clearly wasn't, so how can they be trusted to get anything right in future. Total cluster F.
Hoping that rules are being looked at to force another vote or GE.

In a working democracy, a new leader should have to maintain the same policies that got the last regime elected or face the country at a general election. The fact Truss doesn’t have to is, as she would probably say, ‘a disgrace’.

Just yesterday Truss told Tory Kuensburg that the top rate tax cut was the right policy for growth; now it's postponed. They have no clue what they are doing; credibility destroyed already.

Good to see Douglas Ross saying the nasties have done the right thing, a couple of days after "challenging" the SNP to following the tax cuts
How on earth does this guy get into the positions he does?

The rules I'm referring to are Tory party ones re electing their leader. As it stands, they're not allowed a new contest for 12 months (i think).
That rule could be changed if a GE isn't brought forward.

Ross is the leader of the Tories in Scotland but he only has a pretty small competition and when you consider that Annie Wells, Steven Kerr, Andrew Bowie and Murdo Fraser are amongst that competition it maybe does make sense to how he got there
