    Bowie & Mulligan

Really impressed by both players today , Bowie puts in a really good shift upfront and Mulligan looks strong and a quality signing . Going to be two big players for us this season.

Agreed. Mulligan looked very handy, could fill that Triantis shaped hole in midfield I reckon.

Wouldn’t be against trying him in that role in fairness , looks strong and certainly won’t be out muscled while also direct too .

I think they are a few who could have a massive impact this season. Campbell and O'Hora are another 2 I think will step up a level and be key this upcoming season for us.

Mulligan is best at right wing back

Hope we don’t try him in the middle, go and sign a proper centre mid if Triantis isn’t coming back

Completely different players, Nectar was so good for us because of his control and composure which is probably Mulligan's biggest downfall

I agree but until we do that he looks the most obvious player to fill that role.

I'd be dissapointed if they were starters for us this season, decent squad players but i want better starting for us.

How do you know he is best at wingback? I'm not saying he is or isn't but even reading what Dundee fans were saying when we signed him, they were saying he's a RWB others were saying he's better suited centrally and some would say he would actually be better Right of a front 3.

Rangers fans when they thought he was signing were sure he'd be signed to play RB.

When Triantis was playing CH for us I don’t think anyone would have thought how well he’d adapt to the midfield role he ended up playing. We need a Defensive midfielder though I think Mulligan would probably be the best option to play there as things stand in this moment of time .

Same could have been said for Rocky this time last year. That is why we love football, because it's full of twists and turns.

Just from what I’ve saw of him and what I’ve heard Dundee fans saying

Seems to be a lot more consistent at wing back imo

While that is true Mulligan has already demonstrated his strengths and weaknesses as a midfielder and his passing and control are part of the latter category

What about his control and pass that released Hoillet?

Agree, thought he was our best player by quite a distance.

Just think he’s better as a wing back as what he done good today (IMO) was playing on the front foot and driving at the opposition. When he does that out wide and is able to isolate defenders 1v1 I think he’s very good.

RWB is a position I’ve felt we needed to strengthen, and in mulligan he instantly does that. If we don’t get Triantis I think we need a new centre mid instead of playing mulligan there and Cadden on the right

That isn't what the club indicated when he signed. He was described as a defensive midfielder that can play right wing back.

Yes good he can play both. Saw his video highlights and the vast majority seemed to be wider wing back position. In his interview recall he seemed to be saying he preferred central

Must admit I was surprised when I saw that, I would be surprised if Josh described himself as a defensive midfielder

I disagree, from what I've seen of him, he's good at breaking up play by winning loose balls and initiating counter attacks with clever passes. That would be a great asset to have with Boyle and Bowie up front.
