    Netherlands 1 Scotland 1

    well done Kathleen McGovern

Scotland have been so unlucky in the last 10+ mins of this game
Scotland largely dominated the second half and probably should've won. But Netherlands had a couple of big chances too, probably the best one.

A much better performance for sure. Hopefully the new coach starting to make a difference.

Watched some of the second half thought Scotland looked good and were dangerous going forward and should have scored near the end. Passed the ball well. Definitely more promising and some of the Scottish based players should strengthen the group. Nice finish by McGovern

That and putting trust in the best younger players. Maclean is an outstaying holding mid. Something we have missed for years.

Think Mia Macauley looks an excellent player on the very little i have seen of her . Very direct and a goal threat

What's the story with the Hamilton women's team? getting told to change their name by the owner of the men's team as they prepare to start up a new team?

She went out on loan to Queen's Park in October. Wouldn't be surprised if they offered her first team football as Kathleen and Eilidh have the striker spots pretty much nailed down.
Queen's Park have axed their women's team, along with their academies

I appreciate this, just meant that both having a year was a strong hint that this year may be his last, given their rumoured ambitions to try pastures new.
A year can be fairly standard in the women's game, especially for extensions. You rarely see more than two year deals

Not sure that’s correct. They announced the new squad list earlier.

Sorry folks your right its wasn't the Scottish cup it was the league title but no need for a crystal ball they won the Scottish Cup in 2010. Still the league winners trophy is just as worth parading round Easter Road in front of the fans.

Was reported in April they'd scrapped the team, along with their youth academy, must have reversed the decision

I’m delighted she has signed on again, a vital part of the team.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us,
    He'll die before he's sold.

She had offers elsewhere, so keeping her at all is a coup.

But you never see more than one or two year deals/extensions, the money isn't in the game yet

The winner/loser of our tie will face the winner/loser of Apollon of Cyprus vs Young Boys (SUI).

The 2 semi final and the 2 "finals" are all being played at the same location. Not sure when or how that will be agreed.

Is it not a bit of a farce that the champions of Scotland have to play a qualifier to get into the "Champions League"?

Seems a bit unfair/backwards to me.

By the looks of things it'll take a small miracle for us to reach the group stage. Would have to win the 2 matches then a further 2 matches presumably against harder opponents.
