There have been loads of rumours.

    And we've signed 2 players.
Oh come on, we’ve lost 5 first team players and as yet replaced none of them, that’s half a team. We or at least I need something to give me hope we’re not only going to fill these holes but improve from last year, which is the goal. It’s just so so slow.

Stop panicking. We'll sign the players we need and we'll have a full, strong squad.

    Undoubtedly.

Not a chance Newell will be top of any pecking order, he’s not even fit. If we get Triantis over the line then we can ease Joe back in gently. Not a bad option to have off the bench to slow a game down, he’s good at that

Surely McGrath would count as a replacement for Hoilett and Sallinger for Bursik?

I think we’ve got a really tough job on our hands being as strong as last season. Triantis, Rocky, Gayle, Hoilett and Myko played a huge part. Hopefully we get the first two back which makes it a hell of a lot easier.

For once I’m relatively calm about our business and trust the club to get it right

I wonder if we will see any incomings this week - Rocky/Hoillet/Triantis and/or A N Other(s) - as I imagine SDG will want to have new signings available for the training camp in the Netherlands? Hope so!

I think you're right. Keeper for keeper, Sallinger must surely be an upgrade. McGrath is a player who will fill the advanced midfield roie vacated by Hoilett and perhaps add more energy to that role.

Like you, I have confidence the club knows what's needed and will do their best to deliver. It's time to build on a solid foundation, our owners understand this.

Bursik was not one of the five I’m talking about but as you say we’ll have a hard job replacing the players we’ve lost. I didn’t expect to have them all replaced but hoped we’d have some in by now. We’re really short on strikers and that has to be addressed sooner rather than later. I’ve no doubt they’re working on it but it still gives me the fear until it happens.

Yeah, imagine Hibs fans supporting a Hibs player on a Hibs forum, mental.

He's the wrong side of 30, last season we picked up and didn't miss him during his injury. I appreciate all he has done, but as I have said in the past he is no longer value for money. Considering he is captain, and got a new contract last season he will be one of the better earners and my opinion is there are better younger options we could have instead.

We’re no really short on strikers IMO. Boyle and Bowie will be our first pick pairing and we have Youan as well. That’s not really short when it’s still June. Vente wasn’t part of the squad for the vast majority of last season. Myko split opinion and a fit Bowie would be ahead of him this year anyway IMO. Gayle is hard to replace as a fourth choice who can contribute what he did in the limited minutes he played. But for me your first picks are there and you need to add to the squad in that area now.

I’m normally quite pessimistic on our summer business being slow but I think we are well placed and things will start moving this week. I think the squad will be added to in time for Holland.

And one that has just been interviewed saying how he has struggled during recent injury and its been a real tough time for him, and during that tough time he has been a constant in community activity at club, representing club in various boring official duties, voluntarily I suspect, and according to ALL players has been ensuring he has been a huge influence still in dressing room, and all the time trying his hardest to get fit again to play.

I am happy to discuss that I think we may not see the best of Joe again due to timing of injury but I as sure as hell am going to give him every chance to prove me wrong, and every support he needs to try. And hope that if he does then some of those young unproven players people are blindly backing in their anybody but Joe crusade have to improve even more to keep him out of the team. It would be a pretty good place to be in quite honestly, so the people who just can't wait to have a dig should all change their user name to numb nuts, then easier to ignore.

    Football "fans", aren't we unique!

Boyle is fantastic but is a wide forward and not a striker as is Youan when ever he’s fit. Bowie I don’t think has played one full game yet. We’ve lost 2 out of three of our strikers which were all used extensively during our brilliant push to get third place. We’ve got a bigger programme this season starting with European ties in 4 weeks time. It’s a concern that we’re players down until we address it, no?

Youan’s best run of form was playing through the middle while Nisbet was out

Dean Cleland - scored an absolute barrowload for the U18s last season, still only 17 though.

So we’re relying on Youan now? I do like him but he’s not wanting to be here and is constantly injured.

Hibs will be working in the background.

I like it when there's no rumours as it shows the backroom is a tight ship.

    Enjoy the tension.

I’ve absolutely no doubt they’re working on it but I’d still like to see something happening soon. We have a lot of holes to fill and are away on a pre season preparation trip soon, it’s not ideal doing that when you’re so many players down. Hopefully we’ll see some movement before our trip. 🤞

Looked like he was happy enough waving the corner flags about last season.
