I enjoyed it, mainly because I landed up refereeing all block 7 games, the eventual winners.
I gave a controversial, penalty, but almost immediately evened things up , by cancelling a good goal, with a foul on the goalkeeper.😃

Why did they have a referee? The games on pitches 1 to 3 didn’t have ones?

No penalties, free kicks etc either.

Looking forward to pixelated winners photos

I gave one penalty to block 7 then almost immediately disallowed a goal, all great fun.

But why did they have a referee at all? The other pitches played without refs?

Like there weren't even "penalty areas" to give pens on pitches 1 to 3. Weird.

Was there on pitch 7? I think B7 were the only team that didn't have to rotate pitches? I didn't bother leaving the main 3 pitches as the loos and catering were there and wasn't following a team round.

Think your reading to much into this, it was a football fun day, for a good cause no set criteria, throw ins on that pitch, kick ins on others.
The Block 7 guys mixed, and had banter with all the other teams, and coaches,
    Just a nice day out.

Not reading too much into anything. It's just confusing that there appears to have been refereeing where most games didn't have it. Surprised to hear it even happened. It wasn't needed in the games I watched. Other teams has primary kids, pensioners and women in them. Genuinely fun games.

Could be many reasons. For example someone who couldn't play but wanted to contribute to the day, someone offered to referee but wasn't enough for every game, etc
