My mate and I were discussing players at Hibs we just couldn’t take to and this was the XI we came up with

    Maxwell

    Docherty
    Nelson
    Forster
    McGivern

    Tudor Jones
    Haalberg

    Drey Wright
    Kamberi
    Soares

    Collins

(Limited myself to only a couple of the 5-1 team while all could be valid)
Get Alan O'brien in there instead of Soares, and Vine instead of Collins.

Personally, I couldn't stick Rob Jones - king of the finger pointers, anything going wrong was always somebody else's fault ... probably going against the glow tgere.

I'd struggle to pick just 11, however Demetri Mitchell would be the first name on it.

Did he not score a peach against Rangers at Ibrox? In that 0-3/1-3 win?
    Think that was Liam Miller?

Edit: Rankin did score a peach. I could have sworn it was Miller that scored that one, but it turns out Liam Miller actually scored a squiggler that day instead!

Both scored from outside the box. Miller's was a howler from the keeper, Rankin's was a cracking goal but not really a 'screamer'.

Rob Jones had a strong first season with us, the last 2 were uneventful. Overall I thought he did well considering Chris Hogg was his defensive partner.

I've got a mate who I go to the odd Hibs game with who has a totally irrational and massive hatred of Tony Hibbert. It's quite good fun to bring his name up in the pub and see him launch off on one.

So I'd like him to find his way into the team please, even allowing for the fact that he never played for us.

Tom Soares was quality just played in a sh#t team

A blast from the past Zibi

That semi against the Hearts was a sackable offence the goals he threw in

Zibi gets the number 1 shirt for me by an absolute mile. Still think he must've been on the Romanov payroll.

Simon Brown and Graeme Smith were much worse imo.

Tin hat on but when he wasn’t making his mistakes Zibi was actually alright.

Maybe we could run a thread for a non Hibs Disliked XI.
and then have a playoff. Perversely I suspect the outcome would be a dislike of the Hibs XI more… why does that tend to be the case? Some of the scapegoats over the years got it far tighter than even some of the Jambos.

Billy, with respect, Tom Soares was a chicken hearted ***** bag who did the square root of **** all in a Hibs shirt and was part of one of the worst results in our history.

He should forever be remembered as nothing more than awful, as should the majority of the rest of his colleagues from that team.

Very worthy of a place in this team.

    I genuinely believe that.

Had he never had to face Hearts I’d suspect he’d be remembered as an alright keeper, no more, no less.

What went on against Hearts though was nothing short of bizarre, verging on being suspicious.

Never thought I'd have seen the day where Tom Soares was labelled "Quality".

    A genuinely awful footballer.

don’t want to buy his signed framed shirt :) I think it was his i received just before “that” final that shall remain unspoken.

There's times I read stuff on here and think my memory must be shot to hell, nothing here for me but fond memories of Rob Jones.

Yeah only made the ten appearances for us must have been the two wins against Aberdeen and Kilmarnock a win against Dunfermline a draw versus Motherwell not forgetting the double he scored away at Rugby Park in a 3-1 win clouding my judgement

Anyone that makes 160 appearances for Crystal Palace isn’t sh#t

All about opinions though but worse chicken hearted players are Greg Docherty and Brandon Barker imo

Tom Soares had something about him

    1-5 wasn’t great but wasn’t alone

Now Owain Tudur Jones I dislike

He also captained us to a League Cup win, if that counts for anything?

I agree that his form did dip a lot after that though.

That Lithuanian striker we had. Big Dave. Not so much a dislike just pretty anonymous.

He wasn't awful, he'd had a decent career but he was done as a player when we signed him. Poor recruitment and there was plenty of it in that period.

Haven't read the whole thread but Michael Hart has to be in there, as hopeless a right back as you'll see.

I actually agree with him. Blunders against Hearts aside, he was OK. Definitely better than Simon Brown and Bursik. That's actually what makes it all the more suspicious. Most of his blunders came against the one club.

    Tbf, I didn't say he was ****

Maybe it's the cup final with no name result clouding my judgement but I remember nothing positive about him.

Labelling Barker the same as those two is very harsh. He had some real flashes of quality and played his part in some great results that got us a 4th placed finish.

During his time at hibs he was awful.

We've had many a player who didn't look the part and either succeeded after leaving us or had a decent career prior.

Yup, that’s how I remember him.

Fully aware you can’t just erase the mistakes but as you say, against everyone except hearts he was absolutely fine imo.
