The Australian flag + number 10 was an older post (referring to Boyle) that the guy quoted. The new post just has the Australian flag plus a signing emoji. Could be Triantis, could be someone else, could be nonsense.
I ask for jamie maclaren back every transfer window. Could this be the time!! Exactly what we need to be fair...

Did anyone sign Josh Mulligan yet? Good player , if we lost Miller he’d be a good option.
They don’t play the same position

No chance. He'll be on Megabucks in India.

1 million euros is almost break even after Roda get a small %
Had hoped for more than that
€1 mil is a stinking deal following the season he just had in the Dutch tip flight. Has to be more than that, surely.

Hopefully we insert a huge sell on into Ventes contract. I still see him ending up back at Feyenoord, especially if he replicates last seasons form.

If that figure is correct then it is disappointing though maybe there’s a few add-ons in it too ? . Another way to look at it is at least we are breaking even out of this rather than him walking away for nothing in a while and the money might help us get another decent player in.

That's where I'm at. If he does go for what some are saying then he's only went up in value 300k since we bought him ??? The boys just got a place in the team of the season in a league above our Standard. Find me another striker at that age who is available for 1 million playing in a top European league, I think you would really struggle.

We got a similar amount of money for Melkerson! To be fair though I think the club done very well in that deal.

  10. #4119
Don't know the ins and outs of the deal, will wait to see what it actually is rather than speculated to be. Perhaps Hibs would take less upfront for a larger sell on % and take the gamble he has another good season in the top flight next year and a bigger club comes in. We don't know anything yet

Scott Tiffoney joins Killie on a two year deal ..

Dundee loose another player, they have a small poor squad.

Killie sign a player and I'm not sure that improves them as a team.

I'd be amazed if they weren't relegated. Especially with Pressley now managing them. It's quite bizarre what's happened at Dundee and it all seems to have been planned.

I think Killie’s signings so far are all pretty much in that bracket in I’m not sure any of them improve them . Dundee appears to be on some sort of self destruction plan . I think it’s going to be a very interesting relegation battle this season.

I think it's a case of just getting an unhappy player, who clearly doesn't want to be here, out the door. We maybe could have played hard ball and held out for more. That, potentially could have led to teams backing out and us being stuck with him until next summer when he could move on a free. Then, were all on here berating the club for not cashing in when we had the chance. He was hopeless when he was here and, frankly, to get £1m for him I think was decent. We offered much, much less than that for Simon Murray who offers much more than Vente, for example, and Bowie, according to reports, cost less.
I agree. I think some folk are being a bit greedy and unrealistic. There were a few on here doubting we’d even get our money back on Vente at the start of last season.

Agreed. Much be such a frustrating team to support. A club hell bent on self destruction

Do they not have a mad habit of coming through destructive phases? What I mean by that is that did they not get promoted, sack their manager, have pretty much all their players out of contract and have to start from scratch then actually have a pretty respectable following season?

I’d take a bit of convincing that appointing Steven Pressley as manager is an inspired move but can a fairly clean slate not be something half decent to work with?

Separate note, I’ve always thought Tiffoney looked like quite a handy player, who might have earned a gig on a bigger stage.

    Correct.

We bought him for around £700k. Was very poor with us and now in the last year of his contract. Pity we had a churn in managers at the time, which did not help us get the best out of Vente.

Did OK for a lower level club in the top division for a year in The Netherlands. Unless other clubs contact Hibs wanting Vente and bid a higher value, I reckon £1m is a decent return.

Will be lucky to break even given Roda will get a chunk.

The sceptic in me says that we never got close to 1 million for Melkersen.

There are other factors to consider, last year of contract being one. If the deal is done then we can move on and use the cash for our own signing targets. Who's to say Vente's success last season wasn't a flash in the pan. I would have hoped for more, but also pleased it's done so quick.

Roda get a chunk of any profit. If we don't break even, they get nothing.

Will only be % of profit, if we don't make a profit, we don't owe them. I think getting our money back was the main thing.

Plus a chunk off the wage bill that can be used for another player.

Hibs went on record at the time stating we'd received a 7 figure fee. If we didn't, they were lying publicly- and I can't see them doing that.

He was quoted as saying the fee was significantly higher than what we'd paid but I don't see any reason to doubt what the media were told. Hibs Observer said £1.2 plus a significant sell-on. Don't see why the club would exaggerate on this.

Especially since it may encourage teams we are looking to buy players from to hold out for more money.

We should sign Alligator Arbroath at this point and make it snappy.
